Pop of Pink to Keep Your Summer Bright

Essie Off the Shoulder Nail Lacquer ($8.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as “a bold hot pink.” It’s a brightened medium pink with subtle cool undertones with a cream finish. Cult Nails Untamed is similar but has a jelly finish and contains shimmer. MAC Pink Nouveau is darker. Chanel May is several shades lighter and more yellow-toned. MAC Ice Cream Cake is much, much cooler-toned. MAC Galore Pink is a smidgen lighter. Zoya Jolene is brighter.

What a happy, perfect-for-summer pink cream!  It has an immaculate formula, too–naturally glossy, full color coverage in two coats, and applies evenly without a fuss. I didn’t experience any bubbling, streaking, or pooling of the polish along the edges of the nail. I typically get a full week of wear with Essie’s formula with some minor tip wear but no chipping to speak of.  When I was swatching through some Essies last week, I was reminded of how much I love their cream formula.

“Essie Off the Shoulder Nail Lacquer ($8.00 for 0.50 fl. oz.) is described as “a limitless sea blue.””I think you need to work on proofreading.

_bornforastorm So sorry! I just fixed it – I copy and paste posts to save time on all of the image coding, since I write the posts in html 🙂  I meant to look up the official description and must have forgotten by the time I finished the review. Sorry again!

Christine (Temptalia) I do this sometimes in my work even though I also have a lot of attention to detail.  If you look at the thousands of tasks you have to accomplish to create a single post, stuff sometimes will happen, even if your error rate is .0001 %.  I don’t think you have to “work” on your proofreading.

It is a pretty color but I hate Essie polishes with a passion.  I got a couple from last summer’s collection, used one of them once (Braziliant) and never again.  Hated the formula (and the ingredient list) and it chipped like nobodies business.

This looks extremely streaky on my monitor. Even if I liked this I wouldn’t be able to find it. All the displays for this collection are cleaned out or have been replaced by something new.

jennyh   It looks *extremely* streaky and uneven in that last photo to me too. But not at all in the other ones. It’s so odd. I noticed it myself and went back to look at the prior photos, then thought I must be imagining it. Glad to see I’m not alone.
