Melt Cosmetics She's in Parties Eyeshadow Stack Review, Photos, Swatches
She's in Parties
Melt Cosmetics She’s in Parties Eyeshadow Stack (x4) ($48.00 for 0.36 oz.) contains four shades ranging from a shimmery pinky-peach, soft mauve, warm, shimmery plum, and deep plum. I think the four shades worked well together as a “quad,” but the quality wasn’t consistent across the shades, particularly with respect to Last Caress, which was quite sheer.

Skeleton Kiss
Skeleton Kiss is a soft, peachy beige base with pink-to-peach shifting shimmer paired with a frosted finish. The texture was soft, more loosely-pressed in the pan, and seemed to have a more powdery base to it, though I didn’t get fallout when I worked with it. The eyeshadow applied evenly to bare skin with semi-opaque, buildable coverage that blended out well. It stayed on well for eight hours before it started to fade slightly.

Last Caress
Last Caress is a soft, medium mauve with neutral-to-cool undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-sheer coverage, which was buildable to semi-opaque pigmentation but required a primer in order to achieve more opaque coverage. The texture was more powdery and a touch dry, which contributed to the poorer payoff. It wore well for seven hours on me before fading.

She's in Parties
She’s in Parties is a medium-dark, plummy brown with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It was richly pigmented with a smooth, almost cream-like texture that was dense but not too thick or stiff in the pan, so it was easy to use and applied beautifully to bare skin. The color lasted well for eight hours on me before I noticed any fading.

Meanstreak
Meanstreak is a deep plum with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had nearly opaque pigmentation with a slightly drier texture, though it wasn’t powdery or stif fin the pan, so while it didn’t feel perfect, it performed better in practice (where it really counts). The eyeshadow blended out with slightly more effort than ideal, but it was workable and stayed on well for eight hours on me.

Pretty eye look, though these shades would not work on me. I love that the set is named after a Bauhaus song, though!
Thank you!
I really love this stack. It performs really well for me and the colors are shades I didn’t have in my collection.
I don’t own any Melt eye shadows. My daughter picked up the Rust stack about a year ago and really loves it. I have been somewhat surprised by the reviews, overall. I think I expected all of the shades from each stack to get an A, although I know that is not realistic. I had just heard such glowing things about Melt. Normally I would think this stack would really appeal to me but for some reason I am not feeling the combination. Don’t know why but there doesn’t seem to be enough contrast for me. I know that sounds silly but that is what I am seeing, LOL!!
Last Caress is so sheer than in the pan seems like a dupe for MAC Deep Damson, but swatched looks like a dupe for MAC Haus. 😆
This is my least favorite Melt stack. Not because anything is wrong with it (for me), just that I rarely wear purple. It was that weird compulsion to own them all that made me buy it. Having said that Skeleton Kiss makes a nice cheekbone highlight.
Since I truly feel like this shade combo is one well represented within my eyeshadow stash, I think it’s a safe and somewhat easy pass. I do love the look you came up with using this one with the Baby Girl Stack!
Hard to justify the price when Colourpop lets you build your own quad palette for $12. They don’t have that exact deep plum as a single but otherwise I’d suggest their shades Celestial, Vivacious, Chic Happens, Silver Linings, Lit, Burner, Razy and Cloud Nine if you wanted to build a similar palette.
This would have been a perfect stack for those who just want the plum shades if only Last Caress was of better quality. I also think that this shade should have been a taupe to balance the other shades out. Meanstreak (what an awful name) was beautiful.
I think Melt is amongst the most overrated and overpriced brands on the market (I don’t know if they have inconsistency between badges, because my Enigma is soooo sooo bad that I have to put it in with my fingers or a dampened brush, whilst yours was fine)
