Glossier Topaz Haloscope ($22.00 for 0.19 oz.) is a medium gold with strong, warm yellow undertones and a fine, golden, dewy sheen. Straight from the tube, it had semi-opaque coverage that was buildable, while if I dabbed it on by getting product on my fingertip, it had more sheer to medium, buildable coverage. The texture was lightweight, moderately tacky, and just creamy enough to feel and blend out like a cream highlighter but seemed to stay in place better and was less prone to lifting up base products. The “coverage” seemed more apparent in person, as my camera picked up more on the dewy glow. The highlighter blended out easily and lasted for eight hours on me–even when I tested it over foundation.

Formula Overview

$22.00/0.19 oz. - $115.79 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to give a "hydrated, dewy finish" with an "otherworldly sheen that's never dry, never glittery." First, it's important to note that this product is not marketed as an intense, metallic highlight, and second, the other key takeaway is the use of the word "dewy." It's a luminous, pearlescent highlighter that is cream-based and has some tackiness on the skin, which helped it adhere and stay in place better without destroying base products (like foundation) over time while maintaining a true, dewy finish. Despite the tackiness, it felt very lightweight and worked well on bare skin or on top of foundation (even heavier, matte foundations). If you love glowing, lit-from-within and want some pearl and sheen, this formula just might work out for you.

We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

I’m so glad you’re reviewing glossier products! I’ve tried many products myself (with varying results) and would love to read more objective reviews on them/see how they work on other people. It seems like most reviewers (on Youtube/Blogs) shill the products in order to gain store credits/maintain their glossier rep status. I really appreciate the objectivity of your reviews and the fact that you use the same grading system, while also taking into consideration the product’s marketing and purpose (does it work well and also does it work the way it’s SUPPOSED to).

Love the colour, and IDEA of this. but I feel like I use too much powder, and that will defeat the purpose ya know? I set my whole face as i have combo skin thats very quick to sweating!!!
I feel like this would never last or work for me 🙁

Hard to say how well it would last, but the Haloscope formula has been out for a bit, so you might be able to find someone with combo/oily skin who has reviewed it! I’m pretty normal, and I didn’t set it for testing (or use primer etc.). I get sweaty mostly under my lights or first thing in the morning (after a shower) but not so much randomly in the day 🙁

I enjoy a lot of glossier’s no makeup makeup products a lot. I have the highlighter in quartz but this one is also so pretty. I don’t remember if you have reviewed their liquid eyeshadow lidstar, but I really love them and they don’t budge and just look like a beautiful wash of color.
