I really don’t know how you even were able to get gleam to show up! I had a chance to see and swatch this at a pro store that is pre selling. I couldn’t get it to show up. My result after swatch was absolutely nothing.
I really hope this collection fails like Jeremy Scott. This way MAC gets the message that you can’t just give us collector packaging without quality,
I pre ordered some lipsticks and after seeing these pictures I want to cancel. Only Pop Babe and
Toung NChic look good.

I bought the preppy panda full face kit and the kawaii party lipstick a few weeks ago as soon as they launched in the UK and I love them! The lipstick works well on me and the eyeshadows seemed better than what is swatched here although I always use a eyeshadow primer. I like how I can do a full purple smokey eye with this palette and the blush is really pretty too!

There’s nothing here that appeals to me, which is good news for my wallet!!! Lots of patchiness overall. Also, I don’t feel an overall cohesiveness from these shades (or is there something I’m not getting about the theme?). The lipgloss packaging sort of looks like something you’d find at Claire’s. Disappointing.

“Also, I don’t feel an overall cohesiveness from these shades (or is there something I’m not getting about the theme?)”

The shades were assembled by Nicola Formichetti who is the creator of the Nicopanda streetwear fashion. This brand is described as “edgy and playful” and “hyper-creative and unique”. The shades chosen for this collection reflect the Nicopanda brand. – http://www.nicopanda.com

Although this explanation will not make you like this collection any better, this should help explain the color choices.

I picked up Kawaii Party and nothing else before seeing swatches and I’m glad I did! Disappointing eyeshadow palettes indeed. That lipstick is right up my alley though.

Oh dear….so much of this looks like dreadful, cheap, dollar store makeup. Some of the eyeshadows, which look lovely in their pans, are nothing more than random glitter in poorly pigmented bases. And I thought the cheek/eye sets would be winners. And those lipsticks – a few of them are really awful and the ones that seem to apply nicely are such ubiquitous shades that I needn’t bother trying to buy them.

I’m feeling so conflicted here. The lipsticks with just one exception, the Lipglasses and all 3 blush shades look fabulous and well pigmented. But, the eyeshadows just seem to be not up to MAC’s usual pigmentation. Probably workable over primer, I’m guessing, yet still.
Then, I’m in love with the face powder! It may be a little too light for my skintone, but I like that if I applied it with a kabuki brush all over my face *lightly*, it would probably just give my face a glowing, slightly peachy finish!

This looks bad. The packaging is so cute but enough with the light blue lipstick, who is wearing this? Where are they going wearing this? MUAs have enough colors…it’s ok. They had the opportunity to create a lipstick collection of 2 pinks, 2 reds, 2 nudes/browns and 2 fun BUT realistic colors of lipstick. 4 different glosses; pink, red, sheer, nude….but nooo they went with the same ol basic colors you can find throughout Mac, very disappointing. Not to mention this isn’t very dark skin girl friendly not that they HAVE to be inclusive but man variety fro the pale to the dark would be nice. BLEH

I am glad you mentioned about the galactic mint lipstick Mo – it looks a really awful shade and I can’t see anyone wearing this, definitely not work friendly at all!
And it is not dark skin friendly in the least – MAC’s effort at inclusion is pretty woeful. You would think that the brand would put in some shades that would suit a wider variety of skintones.

Ehrm, how about no? Like the Jeremy Scott debacle, the packaging looks great but the product inside looks sub par.

I’m beginning to think MAC does this deliberately, which makes me a little bit mad.

Toung ‘n’ Chic looks quite lovely. I like glittery and shimmery glosses so maybe. As for the rest, just no (unless they somehow get raving reviews).

Unimpressed, MAC! Honestly, I’m pretty much over MAC collections as I feel the quality just isn’t there anymore. MAC needs to do better if they want me to open my wallet. Disappointing.
