Urban Decay Honey Deluxe Eyeshadow

Urban Decay Honey Deluxe Eyeshadow ($18.00 for 0.09 oz.) is described as a “glistening gold.” It’s a rich, luxurious yellowed gold with hints of antique gold and a softly frosted finish. NARS Paramaribo is darker, more burnished. Make Up For Ever #11 is cooler-toned, less yellowed. Le Metier de Beaute Chameleon is browner, less golden. Inglot #404 is more coppery. Inglot #430 is brighter but the closest.

It’s part of Urban Decay’s Deluxe Eyeshadow range, which has a denser, softer texture compared to their regular formula, so it feels very buttery. The pigmentation is excellent, and it requires very little product to achieve smooth, even results. When worn alone, it adheres well and lasts for eight hours without creasing or fading. Over a primer, I have no wear issues for as long as twelve hours. Bonus: this is almost double the size of Urban Decay’s regular formula but at almost the same price!  The only downside is I find the packaging of the Deluxe Eyeshadows to be flimsy–the plastic lid tends to pop off the top of the compact easily.

I spent a long time telling myself I don’t need this one, but you have convinced me otherwise! It’s such a pretty gold, and I have loads of eyeshadows that will work with it!

This is a beautiful color. I LOVE golds!! I’m such a sucker for packaging and the single e/s UD puts out have such a whimsical art to them. Sadly, I think I will be skipping this one because I have about 10 UD palettes I’d like to finish off … before I pass on to the great beyond. *LOL*

i have this in the Deluxe Shadow Box from UD. i love the palette but this gold is super yellow, to the point where it’s slightly greenish, instead of warm. so i find it a bit hard to wear, being neutral to warm skintone. just a heads-up. i love gold shadows but this is not one of the ones i use often.

hi temptalia. i didn’t know how else i could get your attention so you could reply to me…. so i’m commenting on a review. sorry haha. i really wanted to know if you graduated from a university with some kind of degree or not? i really want to go to a make up school to study special effects make up for films and things like that but they don’t offer degrees like they do in university. my parents and some of my friends think its so important to be able to say “i went to university and graduated with _______ degree”, and have it on my resume…. and i really wanted your opinion. i’ve been thinking about this over and over again, and i even took a gap year because i didn’t know what to do and now it’s almost time for applications and i’m just so lost because i don’t know if i should do what i want (go to a make up school) or go to university just for the sake of getting a degree in something.

i’d really appreciate it if you could reply ):

I have two bachelor degrees and two graduate degrees! I’m not interested in becoming a makeup artist or anything like that, so traditional schooling was necessary for me. I believe in education, and if you want to do something outside of artistry, then you may want a degree. By not going to school, you will segment yourself from a potential job market to a degree. But there are plenty of successful people without a degree.

I have this and used to wear it daily, but now I hardly ever take it out.It is however a great color, and the formula is very easy to work with.

This was the very first Urban Decay product I bought, many moons ago. I love this version of gold. It’s so buttery, lasts long and makes my blue eyes pop something fierce!

I just thought you should know that I was on tumblr and I saw a blog called makeupof.tumblr.com that has been taking your photos and posting them without credit. They used these pictures, along with many others, from your Bobbi Brown Sorbet gloss photo to your OCC release stuff. I just thought you should know, because it kind of pissed me off. And they shouldn’t be doing that. So… yeah.

You know, not only is this a beautiful color (what can I say, my mom made me a sucker for gold), it reminds me of actual gold metal. I’ve wanted this eyeshadow for so long! Thank God my birthday’s coming up 😉 and you are right about gold with green or hazel eyes!
