Guerlain Rose Barbare Rouge G Lipstick

Guerlain Rose Barbare Rouge G Lipstick ($48.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a soft, strawberry pink with subtle shimmer and a glossed finish. The color coverage is semi-opaque, delivering some color but not enough to cover my lip freckle. Chanel Charme is lighter and frostier. MAC Cheers All Around is more opaque but similar. Rimmel Dizzy is brighter and more opaque.

This has a really creamy consistency that’s translucent and lightweight; it feels like a cross between the Rouge G and Rouge G de Brilliant formulas, rather than a Rouge G. I find Rouge Gs to have a creamier feel that’s more opaque and has less slip. This shade looks a bit wet on, which is a nice effect. It’s a moisturizing formula, but unlike a lot of other Rouge Gs, it only wears for three hours before fading away. I think the sheerness of the shade has made it less long-wearing compared to other shades.

Was not expecting the sheerness from the way the initial in-tube shot looks! It’s pretty, but I think I am going to check out your dupe recommendations for something more opaque.

I totally get that! I know I’d be really disappointed if I found the perfect Chanel Rouge Coco Shine color ever and discovered that it was completely opaque.

Not feeling the rouge gs from this collection but i guess its my personal preference for something a little more opaque. I am totally craving the e/s palette and highlighter eventhough i already own way too many eyeshadows!

Yeah the rouge gs from last year’s spring collection were a good bit sheerer than the permanent collection but still pigmented enough to be noticeable on the lips and had a lovely sheen!

sorry, still trying to recover from the FORTY-EIGHT dollar price tag. Is it really worth it? I just got up off of $32 for Chanel Kensington & thought that was a little crazy.. but $50 (when you add the tax)? Can’t wrap my head around it…

Hey Amy!

I don’t LOVE the spring shades like I’ve loved other Rouge Gs in the past. I have many favorite shades from Rouge G, though most were limited edition. It’s my favorite formula personally! If you find the right shade, then yes, I think so!

Oooh, this color is so pretty! I wish I could buy it to use in school, ’cause this color is really light but gives a nice natural color to the lips.. Pretty but to expensive to me, I live in Brazil :// Definitely on my wish-list!

Though has been warned about the sheerness of Rouge Gs in this collection, I couldn’t help picking one of them up, which was Rose Piquant, under two reasons; ‘It is LE’ and ‘It is a very wearable cute warm pink which is not too easily to find one’. Sheerness makes softer, everyday wear look and tranlucence makes it juicy, so I’m not too disappointed.

And I bought Cruel Gardenia Meteorites along with it! Sooo beautiful both design and color! It looks almost like the overspray of Parure de Nuit from holliday collection which I really LOVED and hoped them to sell something like that alone in powder form. And now my dream comes true! I will buy at least a backup next time I’m at Guerlain counter!

Thsnk you for tje review as always :3

Well, I sort of thought that the spring collection would be less than inspiring as I truly hate anything leaning towards pink but then I was sort of hoping so secretly so I could be easy on my wallet:))) I really prefer fall and winter makeup in general and think that most companies come out with the best shades and LE products for the holidays. OTOH, I was also secretly hoping for a nectarine/tangerine/coral shade, did they only come out with pinks for spring? I do also want to try the G mascara and perhaps their spring highlighter.
