This may be mermaid, but it can also be seen simply as a sea motif, and totally appropriate for summer. If you are a coastal dweller (like those of us who will be massively flooded tomorrow, lol) this fits right in with the scallop/clam/ starfish/sailor’s knot/lighthouse themes that everyone wears all summer. The case, layout, and shade selections are adult, not preteen. Some jewel tones as well as warm, all finishes. This is on trend without pandering. Personally, I probably have no interest, but fully approve!

Hmm, I felt the opposite. It seems really sparkly. Maybe it’s more pulled back in store? Also would have liked to seen more turquoises and blues. Those warm colors just refuse to take a break. I agree the case is cute, but that isn’t something I consider in my purchase.

There really aren’t any shades in this palette that I need or want. But the clamshell case…I totally LOVE it!!!!

Need to talk myself out of buying it or I’ll wind up with yet another palette that looks pretty on my makeup table, but just gathers dust.

I’m pretty sure I will order this before the day is over. They have some looks on the Sephora page that look really gorgeous. I generally like Tarte’s eyeshadows. The case is really pretty. I bought the creamy metallic one and have used it once even though it is sitting right in plain view. Now that one has a case that is to die for! The shadows are really pretty too.

I wonder if this palette shares any similarities with the Make Believe in Yourself palette? Because if the shades are just close enough I could pass, but I don’t want to.

Tarte has really disappointed me lately as a brand and I don’t want to give them any more of my money (in fact, my Shape Tape ran out and I went back to my NARS RCC) but oh man, this is just so pretty and I want it so badly. If my convictions give out on me I might just get it…after Tarte inevitably puts it on sale.

I LOVE mermaids (and collect them) but I have yet to see anything mermaid-inspired in makeup that has attracted me. This could easily just be called a Seashell palette lol

I keep coming back to the idea that those pan shapes are going to be a problem at some point. I just returned a palette, in part, because the design shape turned out to be annoying to use and work a brush into.

I just decluttered two Tarte palettes yesterday, I do not need this. But I LOVE the packaging! And it looks like its similar to the Tartlette and In Bloom formulas, vs the Rainforest of the Sea shadows? If so, this will be hard to resist.

Will mermaids replace unicorns??? This looks so pretty that I’m totally willing to overlook the wasted space, some colours that are too unflattering on me and the fact that I absolutely do not need or even want this palette. It sure looks NICE! I’d be a really happy camper if, in keeping with this “mermaid” idea, they would re-release the Aqualillies for Tarte palette from quite a few years ago now. I love some of the shadows in that palette and despair of finishing them up.

Alecto Avatar

Definitely not interested as I’m boycotting anything related to mermaids, unicorns, and fairies, but visuals aside (it’s actually very aesthetically pleasing) I think this would have been a better palette with just the bottom six color plus Sandbar and maaaaayyybe Frose.

I purchased this palette having fallen in love with the packaging and rose gold colors (which is the majority of the palette), the only pops of color being the bottom three shades. I am super disappointed in the performance of this product. While the colors are gorgeous, they fade really easily, even with a primer. Having never used Tarte on my eyes before, I had no idea what I was getting into. Needless to say, I won’t be purchasing Tarte again. I hope this review helps someone.
