HAUL: I got pans of Tete-a-Tint and Uninterrupted from MAC, and I threw in Texture because I’ve been wanting it. T-a-T and Texture are the perfect peachy, orangey browns I’ve been looking for. Uninterrupted I bought 100% for the “cult status.” After I ordered it I thought maybe it was a mistake and I don’t need/won’t use such an ochery brown. I put it to the test by smoking out Feline kohl pencil, and it turned into this amazing, almost green, grungy haze and I LOVED it. So easy. Definitely need to rock that look on the reg.
WEEKEND: a little clothes shopping, I hope
Last thing to make me smile? My cats, obviously. #catmom
Haul: Purchased a vintage typewriter for a wicked good deal. I just need to get a replacement ribbon. I’m also going to a book sale and hope to find some pretty books as decoration for my friend’s shower in July
Weekend plans: Picking up my sister from school
What was the last thing (or person) that made you smile?: My bff
Haul: Major haul from Sephora…all three new Pat McGrath eye shadow palettes; Pretty Vulgar Phoenix Rising palette; Violet Voss Like A Boss palette; Urban Decay Backtalk palette; and from Muse Beauty the Viseart Absinthe and Siren palettes. Yet with all that, I’m still debating purchasing the Natasha Denona Tropic palette!
Weekend plans: It is Daylight Savings weekend which IMO stinks! So I’ll be attempting to adjust for losing an hour’s sleep and a shortened weekend. 🙁
Makes me smile: My two little kittens. Not much can compare to my fur babies!
Wow – amazing haul! Any favs yet?
What are your first impressions of the Path McGrath and Violet Voss palettes?
Please let us know how you like Absinthe.
Wow! Great haul!
Haul: ordered UD’s Optical Illusion primer and it’s supposed to arrive today (not sure if it will though because the tracking still doesn’t show “out for delivery”), and bought Pat McGrath new MTHRSHP palette in Subliminal. I was tempted to try the brand’s eyeshadows but I would never have gone for $100+ eyeshadow palette so this was the perfect release for me. Definitely expensive for a 6-shadow palette but not so much that I feel bad about buying it. Smart move by the brand!
Weekend plans: nothing planned at this time. Just some rest!
Last thing that made me smile: my kitty! Nothing like furry ones to bring joy in the house.
I like UD Optical Illusion primer, hopefully you will too.
I ordered it after trying a sample (that I got in a Sephora Play box I think), so I know I love it! A tip by the way: the travel-size is a better value than the full-size, which is very odd. The travel-size is $15 for 15 ml and the full-size is $34 for 30 ml!
Yep, I noticed this when I was first buying it. It was the deciding factor of me buying the travel size over the full sized version.
I enjoyed the deluxe sample I received of UD Optical Primer. It’s on my to-buy list.
Haul: I bought pineapple lip balm at the Dole plantation 🙂
Weekend plans: Steam cleaning the carpet, putting together my vertical herb garden.
Last person/thing to make you smile: My neighbor’s son! I went to drop mail in the outbox and they were leaving to walk the dog at the same time, he told me a silly joke about ghosts.
Ok, your buy sounds seriously amazing. It’s got to be great, right?
Haul: well, last week’s UD haul was a bust (missing one lipstick, other two weren’t good colors for me), but hope springs eternal, so ordered the new Outspoken Vice lipstick.
Weekend plans: juggling lots of family plans, I think we’re at five different things on Sunday!
Smile: my children always make me smile.
Haul: I went little crazy with 10x points items at ulta. Mac Fix plus Prep, UD all Nighter setting spray , Jaclynn Hill palette, Real Techniques Sponge, Lip Balm but Jack I think it was? , also go from Ulta Lime Crime’s Venus XL palette, from Sephora Huda Faux Filter Foundation and Tarte Mermaid palette.
Weekend Plans : Hmm not sure I recently got a DSLR I”m wanting to learn how to use. I’m hoping weather is good enough to go to a park or something and play around.
What was the last thing or person that made me smile? : My boyfriend when I’m in a down he will do something silly to make me smile
Haul: Actually nothing this week! Just trying to enjoy what I already have, even though I’ve only worn makeup maybe 4 times in the past 8 months.
Weekend plans: Maybe getting some baby gear. My husband works really hard throughout the week so I like to keep weekends pretty low-key and restful. Getting baby gear is his excitement though, lol. I’d rather sit on my couch and have it appear.
What was the last thing (or person) that made you smile?: Watching my baby kick in my belly. I’m just so grateful to be pregnant (34 weeks). After 3 years of trying, I still can’t believe there’s a baby in there ?
Joyce, I am so happy for you! I know how incredibly difficult the infertility struggle is, as I myself went through it because I have PCOS. So I definitely believe that your baby is a wonderful miracle!
Hi Nancy! Thank you for your sweet comment ^__^ I’ve never officially been diagnosed with PCOS, but I’ve had nearly all the symptoms for years. I can’t wait to meet this baby. It’s so bizarre to think about because I’ve been a Temptalia reader/commenter since 2008. I’ve since graduated high school, college, had multiple jobs, moved across the country, and now having a baby. Crazy!
Congratulations!!! Aww I’m picturing your husband having fun with all the new things for the baby. Hope the rest of your pregnancy is super smooth. Not much longer !!
Hi Emily! Thank you. And yes he is very adorable. Do you watch The Office? Remember that scene where Andy is like “every little boy dreams about his fairytale wedding” lol… my husband has been like that about having a baby. He reads me all the weekly updates on his baby apps and I’m just like ? lol but yes not much longer now! It’s just been us for so long (married 8 years this year) so it’ll be an adjustment having a child around all the time!
Congratulations! So glad you are making it through what has been difficult for you.
Hi kjh 🙂 thank you. Yes it’s certainly been quite a journey!
Congratulations on the baby, Joyce! Good luck getting it out! 😉
Hi CeeBee! I think about that all the time now lol will I be able to handle it? How long will it take? Will I be super grouchy? Lol we’ll see!
You will be fine Joyce – there will be midwives and doctors around to help you, the important thing is a healthy baby and mother, no matter how the baby is delivered. I am sure you will be well taken care of.
I’ve known so many people with so many different labor and delivery stories that I’m just going in with an open mind. Whatever happens, happens. If everything doesn’t go as I planned, I’ll be fine. I’m just trying not to set myself up for disappointment!
So happy for you Joyce. Fertility issues can be so stressful. I worked a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit back in the 1980’s and it was so wonderful seeing mothers and fathers who had been trying for so long, finally get their prayers answered. You will be fine with the birthing process. The time goes by so quickly so really try and live in the moment both through this process and for the years of parenting. It seems like yesterday that I had my one and only. I was 40 when she was born and I look back now and wonder where the time went. She will be 24 in August. Best of luck to all three of you.
Hi deborah! Yes I hear that the days are long but the years are short. Help me to remember that on hard days. I think that’s why even on hard pregnancy days, I’m not like “ugh I want this to be over” because I’m just so grateful to be (and remain) pregnant.
CeeBee, I had to really laugh at your comment. Do you watch One Born Every Minute – a UK show on babies being born in British hospitals? I love that show, especially the comments from the husbands – Come on love, get it out. Response: What do you think I am trying to do?
Hi Joyce
How did the baby shower go last weekend?
It’s a wonderful time for both you and your husband and I hope that you continue to be well.
I loved shopping for baby clothes and items too, so I can understand how your husband feels.
This little one is a miracle for you both and we all can’t wait to hear how you are going each week.
When my son and daughter in law were expecting their first, I think I went a bit crazy myself and bought all kinds of things
Hi Genevieve! Yes the shower was lovely. We’re not finding out gender so we’re just going with a light green woodland theme, especially foxes. So there were lots of fun decorations. My brother in law made a tiered desert holder out of a tree trunk. Super cute!
My husband has had baby fever for years so I think that’s why he’s so excited about baby stuff. I’m sure your son & daughter in law were very grateful!
This is so sweet! 🙂 Congrats!
Thank you Rachel!!!!
Best wishes with the remainder of your pregnancy, Joyce. Hope everything goes smoothly!
Hi Tracey! Thank you 🙂
Wow, that’s exciting news! Congratulations Joyce and take care. 🙂
Hi Tammy! Thank you ^__^
Haul: I fell for the 10x the point ulta sale and used some 2000 points. Got some stila glitter and glows (kitten karma, diamond dust, molten midnight & smoky storm), Buxom Samantha, cleansing clothes and some other stuff.
Weekend plans: Set up for 90’s Nostalgia Birthday Party for my friend/said party! And possibly an apartment tour on Sunday.
What was the last thing (or person) that made you smile?: I think actually my supervisor, we were talking about something funny.

Urban Decay: Vice Lipstick – Ember (Metallized), En Fuego (Comfort Matte) – swatches posted. I was surprised UD released new shades without much PR! I still want 1 or 2 more but they’ve been OOS.
Also, I reached Diamond tier with Ulta this past week! It’s real! LOL
Weekend plans: Working on getting over a cold. No pans right now.
What was the last thing (or person) that made you smile?: Something my (very) ex boyfriend (literally very – as in from high school) said in our phone conversation. I really treasure our multi decade friendship!
Haul: Recently bought both the Becca vanilla quartz highlighter and the Becca x Sananas Parisian lights highlighter. I’m definitely preferring parisian lights, I find it more flattering, though both are nice. Everything else I’m trying to hold off on until the Sephora VIB sale next month – my cart currently has $700 worth of stuff in it LOL. Lord knows I won’t end up purchasing all of it, but a girl can dream, right?
Weekend plans: Hopefully going to some house showings. Not actually seriously looking right now, but trying to get a sense of the market for when I’m ready to buy in a few years.
What was the last thing (or person) that made you smile?: The fact that it’s friday!
Fridays will do it for me too Zoe!
Look at that tum-tum!!! Love giving tummy rubs to my Scunci when he goes belly up? Too tempting when our furbabies do that to not give them one, haha!
Haul: A holographic Color Club nail polish, Don’t Harp On It.
And just in case no one saw last week’s edit to add to my haul, I bought all 4 MAC Throwback Pro Pan eyeshadows and Spanish Fly Lipstick, which looks amazing under a Dazzleglass with greenish reflects also by MAC, Courtly Coral.
Weekend plans: Hair, nails (I had better, since I’ve been wearing present mani for 2 weeks!), hopefully my meeting on Sunday. In other words, same ol’ same ol’.
Last thing that made me smile?: My Scunci greeting me as I was waking up, he gave me a kitty-cat kiss! These 2 phloofballs always bring a smile to my face every day.
Haul: Melt singles in Amelie and Antique are supposed to be on a USPS truck on its way to me today. I ordered a Z Palette from Amazon but it isn’t here yet. I am hoping that getting my stuff organized will keep the makeup shoppies away for awhile.
Weekend plans: We plan to visit our storage unit and start decluttering. Then we will probably go to brunch to reward ourselves.
The last thing that made me smile: My cat Walter, when earlier today he took his anti seizure pill wrapped in a Pill Pocket and did not force me to shove it down his throat. He is a good kitty.
Haul: From YesStyle I picked up several Velvet Lip Tints in Going Right, Daffodil, Pink Break, Private and Taupe. I also picked up some lipsticks from their Cherry Chu Bonny Lipstick (cutesy name but in line with most Asian makeup products) in the shades Tone Up Red, See Through Rose, Cherry Cola, Vintage Brown and Choker Red. Lest you think I limited myself to lipsticks, LOL, I also picked up two packages of cushion foundation sponges, Juniper Berry Pore Tightening Cushion (for my daughter) and two free gifts which are “beauty bags”.
From Hanacure I purchased the four trial pack. They were out of the single trial packs and I wanted to give it a good try so went ahead and picked up the kit. I have seen a lot of videos and blog posts about this product and was curious to try it for myself. Has anyone else tried it? If so what are your thoughts?
From Skin Research Institute I picked up two bottles of vitamins for skin and hair.
From Fudejapan I picked up the Limited Edition Dior palette. I am so excited as it is super LE and went on sale yesterday. I wasn’t sure that Toshiya was going to be able to get it for me but he was able to get them to set one aside for me so I got that. I had already purchased the Dior Finishing Powders in the “origami” inspired patterns. One is a light pinkie, purple and white and the other is a peachy, purple and pink. I got two of the peachy one so that I can give my daughter one.
I also made several clothing purchases in preparation for my trip to Europe in the fall. I am still trying to decide on comfortable shoes to take that aren’t sneakers.
If the weather cooperates we are planning a trip to the big city of Spokane, Washington for next week so will have the opportunity to go to Sephora, Macy’s and Nordstrom’s so I am excited about that. I haven’t been since last fall.
Weekend plans: Nothing special. Weather has gone wild up here and so it is difficult to make any plans. We have had freezing rain, snow, high winds, pelting rain and temperatures all over the place and that is just in the last 24 hours. Really crazy.
Last thing to make me smile: Probably my grand-kitty. She is such a funny cat. She does the usual things that cats do but she is very chatty. She plays by herself with whatever strikes her fancy. She gets the “zoomies” around the house and zips up the stairs, down the stairs and then dives under the cushions on the couch without stopping. She is very entertaining.
Ooooh, where in Europe are you going, Deborah? That’s so exciting! 🙂
Rieker does very comfortable shoes – I currently have my eye on some floral moccasins!
I am super excited to be going. I have wanted to go since I studied English history in high school and with college, buying a home, marriage, having a child, cancer treatment, I just kept putting it off. A short while ago when my daughter and I were visiting she asked me why I haven’t just decided to go now that there really isn’t anything holding me back except my back pain. I have been having decent response to epidural injections and so I think if I get an injection a couple of weeks before we go I should be fine. We are flying to Reykajavik Iceland and spending 2 days there. From there we are going to London (several day trips out of London including the Cotswolds, Bath and Lincoln where I want to visit the tomb of Katherine de Roet Swynford who is an ancestor), then Edinburgh, Paris (several day trips from Paris including Versailles, Giverny and a couple of chateaus in the Loire valley). From Paris we are taking the Orient Express to Venice and will spend 2 days there, 1 day in Florence and 2 days in Rome. Finally from Rome we are taking a Greek Island cruise which will start in Rome and end in Athens from which we will fly home. I gave some serious thought to cruising the Atlantic home as the cost is actually pretty reasonable and would make a stop in Spain but not sure about sea sickness on a trans-Atlantic cruise so have pretty much nixed that idea. I am a little nervous about the Greek Island tours as I don’t know how my back will hold up to walking up and down steep hills and I don’t really want my to have to babysit me so I will have to play that by ear. We haven’t booked the cruise yet so we will see.
I have already planned my clothing but am starting to think about what makeup I want to take. I want to be severe with myself and really limit what I take. Usually when I travel by car I take about 25 lipsticks with me and use 3, LOL. I want to try and do just carry on luggage so that will force me to economize. Lipsticks are the hardest for me as I love my lipsticks. We have already figured a day of makeup shopping into our trip both in London, Paris and maybe Rome. I hear Rome is best for leather goods though. Anyway, I am rambling but getting so excited and still have months to wait! I will check out the shoes. It is hard when you have back pain so you need something supportive, no heel and yet can stand up to walking a lot and much of it on cobblestones. I want to get them and wear them in before going.
That sounds amazing – my boss just got back from Iceland and he loved it. Apparently there are no trees (?!?!) 🙂
Oooh, maybe see if you can find an empty lipstick palette and fill it with your fave colours? Or I had a friend who re-purposed an empty LE powder compact with an amazing design – she cleaned the pan out and constructed some little silicon strip dividers, melted chunks of her favourite lipsticks in a little ramekin thing in the microwave and poured them in. She let each one set before doing the next one and it was a tiny but messy but such a brilliant idea!
Deborah, aren’t the “zoomies” (or as I like to call them; “the wild woolies”) loads of fun to watch?!? Scunci is almost 13, and he still gets them and tears around this place like a maniac! ? Glad to hear that I’m not the only one enjoying this entertainment!
I know the zoomies and air biscuits are the best. She never fails to cheer me up and regardless of what she does during the day she always lies on my chest in the evening and purrs, butts my head and makes air biscuits. I will miss her when my daughter takes her to live with her next year. I have seen your little man on IG and he looks sweet and cuddly. Sophie is still pretty young. She will be 5 just before Thanksgiving. We haven’t determined what we are doing with her while we go to Europe and that is giving me major stress. I would love to have her be able to stay home and have someone house sit but I don’t have anyone close by that I trust. She has never been away from both of us at the same time. She travels everywhere with me and doesn’t like other animals which is why she hasn’t been able to be with my daughter as her roommate has a cat and Sophie just couldn’t deal with that. Taking her to a boarding kennel will be very, very stressful for her and for us.
A trip to Europe – you will love it! I hope you can go to Rome – fantastic place.
An excellent brand of shoes that you can get in the US is Naot’s – they have all kinds of fittings for wider or normal width feet and I have had my shoes from them for decades. I use them for walking as well. I had them when I went to Europe myself and didn’t have any problems with my feet.
Yes, somebody is definitely asking for a belly rub! Really cute photo!
HAUL: MAC eyeshadow in Kid (love, love, love) and Sephora Lipstories in Pineapple Express (haven’t tried it yet, but the packaging is so pretty)
WEEKEND: Just the usual chores, family, etc.
LAST THING TO MAKE ME SMILE: Well, since I’m at work and haven’t seen my dog (my biggest smile-inducer) since this morning, I’ll have to say it was a coworker/friend that I had a lunch with today. She’s a sweet, fun person.
Tickle, tickle Mellan!
*Haul -nothing, eyeing a number of things, but trying to wait patiently for sales
*Weekend – will be raining, so stay home, usual chores, test makeup, a bit of work
*Smile – my little girl. She wasn’t feeling well last night, we were a bit worried about her, but she woke up this morning, asking for pancakes and you tube, so we know she’s fine LOL
Glad to hear that your little one is feeling better – they can get sick so quickly and either recover equally as quickly or go downhill.
She sounds like a little sweetie.
Thank you Genevieve! So true!
Haul: Nada as far as makeup goes. I just ordered myself a nice set of headphones so I’ll keep shopping my stash until my birthday at this rate 🙂
Weekend plans: It’s supposed to be warm and sunny in WA this weekend so we’ll definitely take our corgi for a walk on the nice path near us (which usually involves stopping for doughnuts on the way back). I’m going to a dance costume swap ‘n’ shop to try to destash some things I haven’t worn for years. And we’ll spend some time planning NEXT weekend’s trip to Portland (woo!). Plus binge watching Season 2 of Jessica Jones.
The last thing that made me smile: My corgi Daisy. We had a service guy over to fix our fridge and she was really friendly with him, then she sat next to my partner and stared up lovingly at them because they were standing near the treat bucket. Of course she got a treat 🙂 And then she had to carry the treat over to the rug, because she’s decided that’s wear treats get eaten. She’s a cute little weirdo.
Kjh’s mother: ‘I told you this already, about that border collie. Do not get a dog that’s smarter than you. No corgis, pembroke OR cardigan!’ Smart, and more than a little crafty. Great breed.
Corgis are wonderful! Daisy is a Pembroke and she’s smart and very good-natured. She loves meeting people around our apartment complex, especially the kids.
My Golden Retriever was named Daisy and she was the most lovable, gentle, sweet-natured creation. We had to have her put to sleep in June of 2006 (almost 12 years now) and there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think of her. Her photo is on my bedside table, along with those of my children so they are the last faces I see before I fall asleep at night.
I’m so sorry for the loss of your Daisy, Mariella. We had to have our Daisy’s sister Maggie put to sleep this past December and it was the hardest thing we’ve ever done. I still get a pang every time I see her photos on my phone 🙁
Haul: nothing
Weekend plans: a group of so-called “anarchists” vandalized a lot of shops and cafes in my neighbourhood last week and there’s a festival of sorts tomorrow to show the street and the show owners some love and support so we’re going to that. Gym first and then my out of town friend is coming to stay over (she wants to go to the street festival but has a hair appointment so won’t be able to get here til later). March Break has begun here too so I’m off all next week and looking forward to getting together with my daughter (also a teacher) for some mom/daughter bonding.
The last thing or person that made me smile: a student – in fact several throughout the day who just made me feel “appreciated”.
Re the vandalism: That is really awful Mariella – all those shop owners work really hard for a living, long hours and lots of responsibilities and to have their shops destroyed in any way is just criminal behaviour. No matter what their political beliefs may be – there is no excuse for that. Good on you for showing your support to them.
What ages do you teach Mariella? I am a retired teacher myself and can remember lots of comments the students said to me, over the years that were just gorgeous and so full of life. I taught mainly Grades 2-4 in my latter years and loved this age group.
Well, the old saying about an ill wind certainly held true. The street was packed and the businesses – most of them already successful – were bursting at the seams. At the fairly new donut place (with the BEST coffee), the lineup was around the block just to get inside to the ordering line (they were letting people in in groups to avoid the counter being swamped) and then there was the 2nd lineup inside. It’s chilly here still so they’d put up those outside heaters for those in line. We opted to go where it was less crowded but my daughter and son in law braved the line and she texted me “We’re IN” when they got inside. We ran into all sorts of neighbours as well as people we’d not seen for a while. The day was a huge success (and I was able to talk with police on the street about my suspicion as to someone I actually taught who might have been involved).
I’m a supply teacher (a substitute) in high school and have been for ages, as I wanted to be home with my kids and also be able to go on school trips, volunteer in their classrooms, etc. I only teach at 3 or 4 schools (95% of the time I’m at 1 particular school and the kids seem to think I actually teach there full time) and teach ESL (we have a large population of Syrian refugees and they are, for the most part, such a delight), Food and Nutrition, English (my certificate teachables), French, history and pretty much everything else except Phys Ed!!! Because I get to pick and choose my jobs, I love it like crazy….I think it’s the best job going.
Re the vandalism – that’s interesting that you probably know some of the culprits, because certainly some of those I taught, or knew of, back in the day have gone on to have semi criminal careers. The worst offenders were those whose parents defended their child no matter what the bad behaviour and refused to allow the school to discipline them.
When my eldest had started school and my youngest in 3 year old kinder, I was a supply teacher as well – for all the same reasons as you. I only worked in a couple of local schools and the children there thought I was part of the permanent staff as well. I really loved it.
Then my maternity leave ran out and I had to go back full time when all my kids were at school, but luckily I ended up at a great primary school, where lots of the staff had children in a similar age bracket to mine and the hours were reasonable (I am talking the 90’s and early 2000’s) here.
However when a new principal came, she absolutely destroyed everything and nearly everyone and after coping with it for several years, I decided to retire and do supply teaching again. It is still fantastic – for all your reasons again.
Sorry for the delay in replying, Michelle and Tammy…I placed the order for the Sephora haul only yesterday, so I haven’t received it yet (but hopefully today). So I can’t give an informed opinion but I will if anyone cares what I think. 😉
Haul: Nada!
Weekend plans: I got back from vacation on Saturday and am still kind of recovering. Just finished unpacking last night – so organized! :/ So I’m planning on chilling, I guess.
What was the last thing (or person) that made you smile?: Vacation is the easy answer here!
Haul:
*MeeshaLou — Witch Craft Palette: Gorgeous teals, greens, and purples in mattes, shimmers, and duochromes, plus a matte warm brown and matte burgundy-leaning brown.

Weekend plans: My older son brought home the flu from his grandma’s last weekend, so I’m still recovering from it, and I’ll continue taking care of my younger son. He came down with it yesterday.
What was the last thing (or person) that made you smile?: My sons being silly
That was kind of your son to bring home the flu to you! Very sharing. I hope you are getting better Rachel.
LOL! Yes, he’s very thoughtful that way! 😉 Thank you for the well wishes. I’m doing much better, and my younger son is over the worst of it (which is the first 24 hrs.).
Haul: I finally got my hands on the Nabla Dreamy palette and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! I also picked up some ABH mini matte lipsticks, Biolage hair mist and some new Hask shampoo and conditioner to try out. Oh, and the Sigma Chroma Glow palette I waited 2 months for (it got lost in the post, then was OOS, etc) and it is LOVELY.
Weekend plans: Nothing much, just life administration type stuff but mostly relaxing and doing my own thing. I plan to swan about in my purple silk jersey dressing gown all weekend, just because I can.
Last thing that made me smile: I made the bed with fresh sheets and a new duvet yesterday, ended up going to sleep alone and when I woke up this morning, I had a husband and 2 cats all snuggled up with me, being all cute and adorable like. Plus it is already Saturday morning here so I didn’t have to get up for anything!
That Nabla Dreamy palette looks really good – although the shades wouldn’t work for me, I think that palette is a perfect one for those who can wear these shades. Quite a catch.
There is nothing like the feeling of fresh sheets is there? Plus having your husband and cats with you.
Fresh sheets are the best. And everyone loves the new duvet, it’s so floofy and soft. Even the cat that doesn’t regularly sleep on the bed has been staking his claim 😉
I love my Nabla eye shadows. I have the Dreamy palette and probably 8-10 of their single pan shadows. They work really well for me. I have also worn a couple of their traditional bullet lipsticks and I like those also. I didn’t pick up any liquid lippies as that is not my favorite finish and will only buy if shades are really unusual. I also have a couple of their single pan blushes which I like. I follow them on IG and Daniel has a YT channel that he does makeup tutorials on. Sometimes he does them in English but a lot of the time they are in Italian. I can follow along really easily but he also does CC. I have been purchasing from them for about 2-3 years and I think they must have a warehouse or distribution center here in the US as I get my packages from them really quickly. I know you are in NZ but hope it didn’t take too long to get it. Glad to hear you are enjoying it!
IT’S AMAZING! Perfect shades for me and the quality is so good. I love it 🙂
Haul: nothing. I didn’t purchase a single thing. I’m quite proud of myself.
Weekend plans: working tomorrow evening. Still trying to figure out if I’m going to workout this evening. I’m not feeling well at all. Hopefully, I’ll be able to get some rest sometime this weekend.
Last thing to make me smile: I saw a video of a man getting his face waxed and I laughed so hard I almost choked.
Haul: Makeup Revolution 24K Chocolate Palette… It’s AMAZING.
Weekend plans: food, Clone Wars rewatch, and Sims Freeplay
What was the last thing (or person) that made you smile? My coworker did an imitation of our older coworker who complains about the chairs all the time
He’s still got a lot of puppy in him – what a gorgeous photo!
Haul: Just some shampoo, but I am waiting on a few lipsticks, Nars Sabre and will be looking for a good daytime moisturising cream.
Weekend plans: It is a long weekend in Melbourne – On Saturday, just shopping and laundry (it’s also hot), On Sunday my eldest son (who is a steam train buff) and I are taking Olivia to a steam train museum and on Monday we are all going into the Moomba festival in the city. There is a parade of floats, water skiing on the Yarra and lots of rides.
What makes me smile: Last Thursday when we had Lachlan for the day, he just makes me smile. He was playing hide and seek around our house and had his own version of counting to ten.
Haul: Nada. Saving money is my haul?
Weekend plans: Nada. Started a new med and it has some funky side effects for the first week or so (feels like I have a flu) so mostly chilling. But if it does work I can get off another med that causes massive brain fog so that would be nice.
What was the last thing (or person) that made you smile?: My cat, of course. He’s currently chilling half on me and half on the couch and purring like a fluffy madman. I love him.
Haul: It’s been a haultastic week.
Monday I bought the new copper and magenta Tom Ford Extrême lash and brow tints, which arrived today, from Neiman Marcus; and turquoise Sephora V for VOLUME mascara, burgundy YSL The Shock mascara, and Kat Von D Basket Case (named after the Green Day song and made in collaboration with Billie Joe Armstrong) eyeliner from Sephora, which Sephora estimates will get here Monday but I figure will probably get here tomorrow.
Walgreens is having a buy 2 get 1 free makeup sale for their Balance Rewards members now through the 24th, so Tuesday I took advantage of the sale and picked up a replacement (the hinge on mine broke this week) compact of my foundation-L’Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion in C3 Creamy Natural-and 2 CoverGirl Katy Kat Matte lipsticks-Magenta Minx and Crimson Cat. I also picked up the Color Collage eyeshadow palette from Revlon’s new Color Charge line, but the sale didn’t apply to it because Color Charge is a limited edition line-only in drugstores and only this spring.
Thursday I picked up a replacement tube of my concealer-Maybelline SuperStay Better Skin concealer in Ivory.
I currently have yet another haul in my Sephora online basket: Christian Louboutin Lash Amplifying Lacquer in Rouge Louboutin (in plain English: Louboutin-sole red mascara) and Nars highlighting blush in Satellite of Love (majorly geeking out over the shade name-it’s where the robots and their poor human companion are trapped on Mystery Science Theater 3000). It’s highly tempting to just buy them now as a reward for surviving my weekly long work day that also involved a more-physical-than-usual task that comes up every couple months, but I should probably do the responsible thing and wait until I get my taxes done next week. Not necessarily until the refund-I don’t think my willpower is that strong at the moment-but definitely until I do the appointment with my accountant and get the taxes done.
Weekend plans: Law & Order: SVU marathon on Ion tomorrow, Daylight Savings, probably more dithering over buying current Sephora basket before vs. after taxes, probably some errands and dining out.
What was the last thing (or person) that made you smile?: The Murray’s cheese counter at my local Kroger store-specifically the Jarlsberg (a Norwegian variety of Swiss cheese) I ended up buying.
OMG, is that a cloth PokeBall Mellan’s chewing on in the photo?
Haul: skincare products by Hylamide, The Chemistry Brand (10% off) and The Ordinary (some 10% off); Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter, Bond Girl Lip Cheat and Bond Girl Lipstick; Chanel Coco Rouge Stylo and Ombre Premieres single eyeshadows in Bleu Nuage and Blooming Rose (20% off SDM)
Weekend Plans: Watch Paralympic games with my mom; enjoy the company of family and friends while I’m still at home.
Last Thing or Person That Made Me Smile: my mom regularly brings a smile to my face (and a hearty chuckle to my belly; she’s pretty funny!)!.
Nothing came, so considered it a no haul week; no beauty haul remains true. But the thumbnail selected-for-you news stories below the frequently visited tiles (Temptalia first up, of course) showed Mac laptops at 200$ off, so I bit. Considering I threw my computer away a year or so ago, it’s not as impulsive as it seems. Some things aren’t fully compatible with iPad. (like the mufe sale…) Plans: SSDW, set up the laptop, work. Smile: Thumpy tails, why the dachshunds of course, esp when Patticake sees me coming and scampers somewhere to pretend she’s immobile! Guess she liked being carried so well when recovering, that she’s dragging it out. Smile today: on Ulta website: A product had 1 review for AGES, suddenly there were 56, and you don’t have to be a forensic linguistics major to suss out that many were written by the same person. Really liked the one by Karmen from Miranda! The prob, of course, is this padding of reviews slaughters their credibility, and Ulta has had enough problems of late. Mine is being reset…now has a fairly big EL section, but is half-finished and not as neat/clean. Got nothing there or the Rack, btw. Still, not so good, me.
