Amrezy

Anastasia Amrezy Highlighter ($28.00 for 0.31 oz.) is a light-medium, champagne gold with warm, yellow undertones and a metallic sheen. It had good pigmentation, which was buildable to full coverage with a second layer. The consistency felt smooth to the touch with a denser, firmer texture that ensured there was no excess product kicked up when used, but it wasn’t stiff to work with, so it picked up well on feathery brushes and blended out easily on my skin. It had a strong shine on my cheeks but did not emphasize my skin’s natural texture. It wore well for eight and a half hours on me.

It seemed to very similar (and the ingredient lists are extremely similar) to the brand’s Illuminators, which I believe have been discontinued, but it isn’t an exact dupe for any of the four shades I have from it (So Hollywood is definitelyd arker and more orange-based).

Shockingly, it turns out that I do NOT own a close dupe for this! Now to choose between Amreezy or Hourglass Gold Flash highlighter stick. I happen to love their cooler gold tone, veering into almost a pewter gold tone. The Hourglass one looks wet, literally! Tried it on my one cheek and was oohing and ahhing at the mirror. Probably talking to myself about it, too. Think I’ll do the same experiment with Amreezy and Gold Flash that I did with Gold Flash vs. Champagne Flash, and see!

This is so pretty I love it! Can’t tell you why, exactly, as it looks like a basic gold highlighter, but still…. The packaging looks nice, the pattern on the pan looks nice, it just looks nice. Thank you for the review!

Eyeshadow look is beautiful! Do you think this one is light enough to work on an NC20 skintone? I’ve yet to find many swatches on more pale skin. Thanks!

Aww! <3 Yay!! I didn’t remember that at all (thanks for the kind reminder, I have some health-caused memory issues)! Thanks so much (for this reply, and all that you do). You’re the most talented, beautiful, devoted person, and your posts are a constant reference for so many of us. Everything’s appreciated.

hi christine~
i’d like to second all the comments on a great eye look!

i’ve always regretted not getting so hollywood. do you think amrezy is just as beamy? the swatch looks less intense than the so hollywood swatch. i understand the color is not quit the same, but the light reflecting ability?

I’m tempted to purchase this but I keep thinking it resembles Mac Whisper of gilt, which I own from the past holiday collection…. by chance do you think it’s a dupe? If so, I might end up passing and save some $ haha

Hello. It doesn’t resemble Whisper of Gilt in my opinion. I have medium light skin and this one here goes on much lighter then Whisper of Gilt. It looks darker in the pan but it goes on significantly lighter. It looks more like a champagne glow on my medium light skin.

It looks very very close on me (fair with cool-neutral undertones). I’ll be returning it as pretty as it is as I have whisper of gilt snowball from last holiday.

I have light medium skin and I’m a highlighter addict. I’m also 48 years old and they don’t have stuff like this when I was in my twenties so I’m going to fully take advantage of it even though I’m probably too old to be wearing some of the stuff that I wear for highlighter. I love both natural highlight and glowing. You only live once and unless you have skin issues where you don’t want your defects to show by using a glowing radical highlight I say go for it because you only live once. But anyway this one I got in the mail and I immediately thought when I saw the pan that it was going to be too dark. I did a Swype on my cheeks or two and it barely showed any pigment. I saw a glow but I really couldn’t see the pigment. I decided I hated it but came back to it a few days later and built it up a little more and then I could see the champagne color along with a beautiful glow and now ironically it’s my favorite highlighter. I reach for this practically everyday. I am so afraid that they are going to discontinue it that everytime I see them on mercari for a cheap price I grab them. Now with it being the last day of the Sephora sale I’m going to get a back up again because they will discontinue this and we will never be able to find it again just like Starlight. I wish I had done the same with that one. This product I had to write about because I’ve never had an experience like this before where I extremely dislike it at 1st and it grows on me enough to be my favorite. In fact it meets all my needs because I can wear it with a coat or two and just have a Sheen to my skin or I can really spice it up. I’m in love with this product. Remember you guys about Starlight. When this goes out of stock the price is going to quadruple minimally. This has been the hardest lesson to learn in my makeup addiction. Which ones to buy backups up of.
