I’ve grown fond of Anastasia’s clear brow gel since receiving it as gratis! Doesn’t get as flaky as my previous favorite, and holds all day.
Agreed on Urban Decay’s 24/7 pencils, of course. So many shades.
Lancôme’s Définicils mascara, although once my last tube dried out I replaced it with gratis (which I don’t like as much, but free sure beats almost $30).
Tarte’s Shape Tape concealer for covering my eyelid discoloration without greasing and creasing. (I still have most of the tube left, but I’m going to try out Makeup Revolution’s new concealer anyway and hopefully switch to that.)

Nars and MAC shadow primers, Marc Jacobs Skinny Liner in black, Lise Watier Sortilege “cream” eyeshadow, UD Naked and Naked Smoky, LORAC Pro2 and ABH Mario palette, Chanel Empreinte du Desert quad and Taupe Grise single and a half dozen or so of the single shadows. Oh, and crazy as it seem, Smashbox under-eye primer and Benefit High Brow (I think that’s what it’s called – it’s the pale pink pencil for just under the brows and it’s amazing) and I can’t omit MAC Painterly Paint Pot.

The UD 24/7 liners of course. ABH brow whiz and pencils are all I’ll ever use on my brows. And I could never part with my MAC msf collection. I have most of the older, coveted, ones.

The MAC automatic eyebrow pencil in Lingering. Looks natural and lasts all day except in the summer heat. Also, MAC eyeliner pencil in Brown Border and their False Lashes mascara.

Nars radiant creamy concealer
NARS pressed translucent powder
Hourglass veil mineral primer
Anastasia brow wiz- trying to find a dupe but nothing is quite as good IMO.
Anastasia clear brown gel

Urban Decay Primer Potion, ABH Brow Powder in Auburn, and that’s about it! I actually prefer drugstore mascaras, and there’s so many great budget eyeshadows nowadays. I really only need the ABH brow products because they make the most perfect shade of auburn for my hair color. I use the lighter, warmer side in the duo for my summer hair color and the darker, cooler side for my winter color.

Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Brows, Chanel Waterproof Long-Wear Eyebrow Pencil, Bobbi Brown corrector & concealer, UD Eyeshadow Primer Potion Anti-Aging primer, and mascaras MAC False Lashes, Lancome Definicils and Bobbi Brown Intensifying and Smoky Eye.

Eye skin care must haves: Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Eye Cream, Kiehl’s Avocado Eye Crème, Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic and Retinol Eye Gel. May look like I go overboard on eye creams/treatments but at 64 I have wrinkles, texture, crepey skin and dark circles. I still have all of those as nothing stops the march of time but they are significantly better than they would be without these treatments and I know this because at various times I have gone without each of them and have lived to regret running out!

Coloured products: Milani Eye Primer, Too Faced Glitter Glue (thinking about trying the Sugarpill product for holding glitter and glimmer which are the mainstays of most of my eye looks!!) but for now I use the Too Faced product, Coloured Raine e/s, MUFE e/s, Stila Glimmer and Glow e/s, Benefit Roller Lash/Cover Girl Super Sizer Waterproof mascara and Chanel Stylo Yeux eye pencils. I have tried the UD 24/7 eye pencils and the Marc Jacob Highliners but don’t really love either. They both disappear in a short time on my eyes and smudge giving me raccoon eyes. Likewise, I don’t have any wonderful eyebrow products.

Eyeshadows: Urban Decay singles (most of my favorites shadows are UD singles); ABH
Eyeliners: Marc Jacobs highliners
Brow pencil: a Chanel one I’ve been using for many years (printing has worn off), I just checked …it might be DC, will see what happens when I need a new one

Marie-Estelle, I was so relieved to be able to get one of the “old formula” shadows a few weeks ago as the Sephora near me still had the old stock. Such a shame that so many of the new release shadows are either not nearly as nice or are vastly different in tone and shade from the ones they’re replacing. I will treasure the “old formula” shadows I have.

Marie-Estelle Avatar

I sadly didn’t have the opportunity to grab shadows I wanted (red toned and berries mostly) as they just let them phase out slowly in France. Still selling the old formula in the Netherlands. I will keep and eye on it!

While I can understand their motive to reformulate I am sad too that some shadows just got toned down in the process. It has been a huge turn off. I will keep enjoying what I have until it is gone (and resist the urge to hoard back ups! Lol)

Marc Jacobs Highliner in Blaquer for tightlining (basically, because nothing else works as well as this), UD PP in Eden, all 3 of my Viseart Theory palettes in Amethyst, Minx and Chroma, ND Lila Palette, ABH Modern Renaissance Palette (with the re-pressed Subculture Palette really growing on me!), MUFE Nudes You Need (RIP to the *real* Artist Shadows, MAC Orb, Soft Brown, Kid, Folie, Twinks, EDES in Sweet Heat and Silver Sun, and lastly, Chanel Empriente du Desert quad.

Mariella Avatar

Hahaha – as with Genevieve’s replies, this is almost like looking through my makeup cabinet. TWINKS…a fave for years and years. And, of course, Chanel E du D!!! And here in Canada, after making them permanent, MAC stealthily got rid of both Silver Dawn and Silver Sun. I’m glad I have both but what a dumb move (mind you, they also got rid of almost all the Matte2 shadows, though it seems that Blanc Type is back, at least in Pro Pans).

My must have high end eye products are all eyeshadows and there are a few:
UD Nakeds 1 & 2 and Vice 2
Guerlain Les Gris
Clarins Natural Brown 03 quad
Dior Jardins quad
Lorac Pro Metals palette
BareMinerals Soft and Smokey, Playlist, Scenic Route duo
Dior’s Khaki 3 Couleurs – the best olive shades out.

Mariella Avatar

Genevieve, our colouring is so different but so many of your faves are mine too – all the same UD palettes, (I am SO glad I got Vice2), Clarns and Guerlain (though mine is Les Fumes) and BM The Scenic Route. Bare Minerals shadows have all but disappeared here in Canada, which is so sad – they were a fantastic formula.

Genevieve Avatar

I think it just shows how versatile cool toned and jewel shaded eye palettes can be that they suit a variety of skintones. Sad to hear that BM have disappeared from Canada – they have not produced a lot in the past few years either. But I think their quads, duos and 8 pans are sensational.

I only have one of the relatively new Marc Jacobs matte liners (Fine Wine), but I’m really impressed with it. So much so, that if I have to replace any matte liners, I will almost certainly look to the MJ line for an equivalent.

I’m not entirely sure what makes something high-end, but I would never want to do without MAC’s paint pot in Groundwork. Also, my current mascara definite rebuys are Diorshow Waterproof and They’re Real!
