Oyster Pearl

Bite Beauty Oyster Pearl Prismatic Multistick ($24.00 for 0.16 oz.) is a plummy brown base with copper-to-green shifting sparkle and fine pearl. It had semi-sheer, buildable pigmentation (up to semi-opaque) with a lightly tinted base but was primarily “pigmented” through its shimmer.

The consistency was surprisingly smooth, lightly emollient, and on the thinner side (didn’t really feel powdery until it dried down) despite all that shimmer. It applied decently as an eyeshadow but was still best worn for a sheer, all-over-the-lid shade for a sparkling effect. On the cheeks, it had a subtle sheen and slight sparkle, but it read subtle compared to how it appeared on the lid and on the lips. As a lip product, it tinted my lips and made them appear plummy along with the shifting sparkle/shimmer. It wore well for nine hours as a cheek color, four hours as a lip color, and less than an hour as an eye color (before creasing).

Formula Overview

$24.00/0.17 oz. - $141.18 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to have "weightless, layerable color" that can be applied to "eyes, cheeks, and lips" with a "breathable, blendable, and buildable" formula. These are a shimmering take on the brand's previous Multisticks. I found the general feel and performance to be in line with the original formula with the shimmery shades seeming to have a bit more slip and less "powderiness" to them. They base seemed to be more translucent and never buildable to full coverage, and the coverage was semi-sheer to semi-opaque, depending on the shade.

I didn't have good luck with the Multisticks on eyes (they creased incredibly quickly on me--in minutes, typically!), and I'm sad to report that the Prismatic finish did not go much better for me. I had a lot of trouble applying them evenly onto the lid except when patting them onto the lid and sheering out with my fingertip for a one-and-done eyeshadow look, but I could not build them up or get them to apply evenly on the lid. The only shade that worked decently on the lid (just in terms of application) was Peacock Pearl as it had finer pearl and less larger sparkle. They settled into my creases quickly and did not have any staying power on my eyelids, even over primer or dusted with translucent powder (the wear was better but still dismal).

The formula has performed the best as a cheek color for me, as the were very much as described–blendable and buildable. I liked to use a synthetic blush brush to swirl on the color and then used my fingertips to blend out the edges. The product doesn't dry down fully, so there was a dewy glow in addition to the subtle pearl/sparkle on the skin. I think that the shine and luminosity are more apparent in person than in photos for this particular product. They applied decently enough as a lip color, but there were issues with the product settling into my lip lines with some shades. They were more comfortable and felt a little more balm-like on the lips than the original Multisticks, which had a thicker, drier, and more powdery feel on my lips. The wear time was between three and five hours.

I’m in love with this one! Although, I know I probably shouldn’t be? On the lips, it looks like Guerlain Air Kiss on steroids and caffeinated glitter! And I’m daring enough to wear it, too! On the cheeks, this is that rare shifting tone highlighter that won’t look ashy or just too stark on my darker end of medium skin, particularly during summer! As a lid wash, I think I will stick to using either a CP SSS like “3” or something from my Fenty Galaxy Palette in one of the more neutral shades? Who knows, though? Perhaps over a primer and a dusting of powder, this could hang onto ones lids?

Your comparisons seem to be comparing a lipstick to blushes and highlighters. Was that intentional? I was really hoping to find a lipstick dupe for this one that had a better rating but none of them are lipsticks.
