- Clear Imparts a luxuriously lightweight, silky feel and sensuously subtle sheen
I’m impressed that anyone could write such ~sensual~ copy about a clear lip balm.
Hahaha, same. “Sensuously subtle sheen” just makes me think they’re trying to lower your expectations for the effect while also trying to justify the price.
“Sensuously subtle” doesn’t lower my expectations, it raises them — I can’t stand glossy balm. It’s so hard to find good, effective balms that are matte or barely-there satin.
It’s extremely unlikely I’ll get this (price), but I’m curious to swatch it.
Does this have an ingredients listing? I can’t find one anywhere, not even on Pat’s site.
I was looking for it too. At this price point I will be seriously offended if I see cheap ingredients like petrolatum etc in it…
I had to email PMG customer service for it. This was their reply:
“Absolutely. Please see below for the list of ingredients in our Skin Fetish Lip Balm.
Polybutene, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Triisodecyl Trimellitate, Aluminum
Starch Octenylsuccinate, Polyethylene, Beeswax (Cera Alba), Dimethicone, Diisostearyl Malate,
Mica, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Polyhydroxystearic Acid, Butyrospermum
Parkii (Shea) Butter, Tocopheryl Acetate, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-di-t-butyl
Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Flavor/Aroma.”
Personally, I was expecting something a bit more impressive than this.
Agreed. DE Lippe has better ingredients for less $$
hmm at that price point I’m going to have to say no. While I know it’s PAT, I could see this being at most $20 since it offers nothing but sheen and moisture. Yea that’s cool but $38 for it when I can get a lipstick at the same price doesn’t seem right to me.
I just can’t see myself ever spending $38 for a lip balm. I feel guilty even buying the Sugar ones, and I always make sure I have a coupon when I do.
A $38 lip balm. Sure, Pat.
Love ya, Pat, but there’s no way in h3ll that I’m gonna spend $38 on a lip balm! IDC if it is made from unicorn sweat, it’s something I’m not gonna buy-eye-eye!!! ?
If this makes my lips look 5 years younger like Major Red does, I would totally pay this… otherwise my $7.50 Jack Black is great.
This is such a hard no for me, and I wish brands would stop doing this. How good does a lip balm have to be to make it worth spending almost $40 on? How good *can* it be, relative to the very good drugstore options that are out there? Sugar and Bite were bad enough with prices in the $20 range… no thanks. I lose lip balms way too often as it is.
I am definitely someone who is guilty of paying $40 for the right lipstick, where formula and color make such a huge difference, but this is a clear moisturizing balm in signature PMG packaging. I’m sure that some people will buy into it, but more for collection purposes, hopefully.
Why is a lip balm limited edition? Limited edition skincare makes no sense to me.
It’s a LE b/c they only made 12 of them so they can create buzz so they can manage to sell them all. Who is going to be paying $38 for a LIP BALM?
I love Pat McGrath, but if she’s putting out a lip balm as a limited edition I can’t support that, it just doesn’t make sense.
I’d have to be making a LOT more money than I make now to spend $38 for a LIP BALM.
I have to say no way.
LOL, the copy!
sorry. for that price I’ll stick to my Hurraw! balm. it’s amazing.
