Illamasqua Ambition Shimmer Blush

Illamasqua Ambition Shimmer Blush ($24.00 for 0.14 oz.) is described as “neutral pink with shimmer.” It’s a muted pink-plum with golden sparkle. The color is soft and light but buildable enough to provide true-to-pan color as well. MAC Pink Cult is pinker, while Estee Lauder Radiant Berry is plummier. Burberry Cameo is a touch more neutral.

I thought the color was pretty as it could be, but the texture is dry, which may be a nice feature for oilier skin types, but on normal-to-dry skin, it’s not my favorite texture in a blush because it emphasizes skin unevenness. The sparkle could be finer; it seems to sit on the surface of the blush, so it translates as more of a sparkle than a real shimmer-sheen. I found the formula wore well, though, so that it was still visible after eight hours of wear.

Lovely review! I was tempted by this one when I went to the launch of the collection in London. Do you think it compares to NARS Orgasm at all?

And what’s that colour on your lips? If it’s Illamasqua’s Intense Lipgloss in Belladonna, I’m going to have to run and get it right now (but if it’s not that, I can cope, but I’m still going to run anyway).

Me too! It’s ridiculous that they are not here yet. I did see Illamasqua nailpolishes at Sephora recently so maybe the rest of the brand will make it over soon? Fingers crossed.

I love Illamasqua’s color range for blushes. it’s really good, and this one seems like a nice NARS orgasm dupe, though maybe a bit better pigmented. I have a beef with Illamasqua on their blushes though, the pans crack like mad! I know how to repan them, but I’ve tried and it still hasn’t really worked. It’s frustrating. I find my containers don’t stack very well either. I’m an oily skinned gal, so I want to love them, I really do, but they disappoint me at every turn.

This blush has a DUPE!! it’s a powder blush called Coral Sandy beach from Jordana cosmetics, price: $2.49 and I think it’s a lot more pigmented

You can’t purchase this at Sephora anymore. I was going to buy it when the friends and family sale started and I noticed it was sold out. I emailed them asking when it would be in stock and they replied telling me that the Theater Of The Nameless collection was being discontinued by Sephora and no longer sold by them. Such a bummer. I guess I will buy it through Illamasqua when it comes back in stock. :/
