What are five makeup products you're thankful for lately?

Here are five that come to mind… 1) Foundation in general!
2) Chanel Jersey Blush (a go-to, everyday kind of blush for me), 3) Marc Jacobs Grapevine eyeliner (been using it a lot, pigmented and long-wearing), 4) Estee Lauder Modern Mercury highlighter (beautiful tone and sheen), 5) Kat Von D Saint + Sinner Palette (very fun to play with).

I love the Saint and Sinner palette for it’s playfulness too! I’ve paired it with Make Up for Ever vol.4 palettes, and it goes really well together!

I would say that my five products are:
– Kat von D Reverb, it’s just the right amount of fun but dark lipstick
– Kat von D Saint and Sinner, as it’s so diverse and you can create a ton of looks
– Colour Pop brow pencil, as my brows tend not to be even
– MAC Sweets for my Sweet blush, it has the best sheen ever, and this colour is beautiful in those colder times
– Make Up for Ever artist palette shadows vol. 4, I just got it, and it’s such a good addition to my collection and to counterbalance all the shimmery shadows I have

You are so right about mufe 4. It has some color, is all matte…in fact, it’s everything the UD basics bring, but thank god, goes outside the neutral zone. It’s prob my favorite pull out/completer out there.

Lubna Avatar

My main one isn’t quite makeup, it’s anti-aging skincare at affordable prices! After that I’d say eyeshadow primer, then MAC Fix+ (both make my eyeshadow more visible and last longer), brown lipstick, metallic lipstick (I’m happy a lot of 90s trends are back), and last but not least, simple, classic black eyeliner. Imagine a world without eyeliner…. ? Happy thanksgiving!

Cle de Peau concealor in ivory; NARS Taos blush; Urban Decay Riff eyeshadow; Marc Jacobs Jazzberry eyeliner; Revlon HD gloss in Rose Quartz.
Fun question.

Ashley Avatar

1) Concealer, so I can wear bright colors without them clashing with my natural redness! 2) Mascara and 3) Highlight, for making me look awake 4) Blush, just for being fun to mix-and-match and 5) Eyeshadow, so I can play with all the colors!

Wednesday Avatar

1. Any Pat McGrath lipstick, but esp Madame Greige and Sorry Not Sorry
2. Mac Typographic eyeshadow (still my perfect not quite black which I use as liner)
3. Hourglass Mood Exposure blush
4. Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation
5. IT cosmetics Naturally Pretty Max Luxe eyeshadow palette. Excellent for day wear and mature eyes. Great if you like soft muted eye looks and it is definitely the most effortless to blend eyeshadows I own.
Happy Thanksgiving!

kjh Avatar

Have to laugh about madame greige…said with pulse quickening. Not only do I have to invoke my 2 dupe rule, but my 5 dupe overkill rule. Still want it, but they’d pink slip me to makeup rehab.

First I have to say I’m thankful for my family, namely my Natalia who brings a natural inner glow of happiness to my heart & soul.
I. Loving a great bronzer to warm up the skin, fill in the hairline, contour, serve as a blush and even out the complexion if your foundation is in between 2 colors.
Kevin Aucoin’s Matte Bronzing Veil in Desert Nights is great, Hoolah Bronzer is good and Estee Lauder’s Bronze Goddess is a Beacon of Light✨
2. Paula’s Choice Resist skin care line & Sun Block to keep my skin refreshed, protected & glowing
3. Clarisonic & Tatcha products
4 Wayne Goss Makeup Brushes and my latest addition, the WG Rose Gold Airbrush…Soft as Silk..Amazing
5. Temptalia’s Website – I’m was giddy when I discovered Temptalia’s Beauty Website & Christine who tirelessly works to provide us with product reviews! Thanks to her for organizing all the great
BLACK FRIDAY CODES!!! You Rock!!!!

Lesley Avatar

1. Beauty Blenders and their ilk
2. Felt tip eyeliner, currently Sephora brand but Nyx is great as well
3. Ulta eyeshadow primer
4. ABH brow products in general
5. Viseart Theory II palette, which gives me the security of knowing I can do an attractive eye for any occasion

In general I am thankful for the advances made in colors and formulas over the years. My first mascara was Maybelline in a cake that you dampened with what looked like a tiny toothbrush and I remember when Revlon introduced “Blush On,” in the mid 60’s.

kjh Avatar

Yeah, the pink one that went with the Naked Pink lipstick. Never had a cake mascara, from then through Besame. Agree on the total improvement and explosion of product.

Alecto Avatar

Aagh! I can’t believe I forgot to be thankful for foundation sponges! — they’ve totally changed my game! I have really only used foundation successfully since I got my first sponge about three years ago; before that, I just had to resolve myself to looking varying degrees of unnatural.

Best. Tool. Ever.

Pearl Avatar

Wayne Goss makeup brushes – these are my daily staples and have really improved the quality of my overall application.
Foundation – love how versatile it is becoming now in shades and finishes.
Guerlain Meteorites Perles – LOVE how this finishes a look.
Lash boosters (i.e. LiLash, Latisse, Rodan & Fields, Neulash) – love the way they have made my eyelashes look. It really is worth the hype and price, imho.
Highlighters – they give my face an instant perk. If I want any dewiness or radiance, I can use this anywhere. LOVE the way this can transform a look and give it a little extra somethin-somethin.

Erica Avatar

1. Trish McEvoy High Volume Mascara in Jet Black. Love how defining, volumizing and black it is. Plus super easy to remove

2. KVD Mad Max Brown Ink Liner. Her liners are amazing. Truly makes a newbie liquid liner user a pro at liquid liner and of course she’d have a brown for a brown liner fan like me!

3. MAC Whisper of Gilt from Snowball collection. I’ve never had before and I’m really loving

4. Lancome Blush Subtil in Miel Glace. Just makes feel so sophisticated and lady like whenever I wear it!

5. ABH Brow Wiz in Soft Brown. ABH just gets it right colorwise. There are fine formulas in the drugstore and beyond but none of them get my brow color right like ABH. Everyone else it’s too light or too dark or too brassy. Yet I find the perfect match with ABH Brow Wiz in Soft Brown

Ginny Avatar

Ha! NARS creamy concealer. MAC Feline kohl pencil and Paint Pot in Quite Natural (so easy for quick smoky look). NYX Cake That liner. UD Primer Potion, finally settled as my HG primer.

Anne Avatar

1. Dr Jart Premium BB SPF 45, Light to Medium
2. Body Shop Lightening Drops
3. Givenchy Magnolia Organza #301 Lipstick
4. Nars Dual Intensity Adoration Blush/Highlighter
5. Paula Dorf Luna Matte Eyeshadow
6. Brush collection and BB (the list isn’t complete w/out these)

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.

kjh Avatar

1. Everyday faves: Fab triple duty eye and Paula long name tm.
2. Skincare: Paula, Cosrx, and Differin.
3. Nars brown red lips.
4. Good inexpensive, comprehensive lines, like CP
5. KGD and MA foundations…it took forever. For Evvvv Aaah.
And the guidance found here to make informed decisions about products.

1) Naked Basics: I’ve been like a magpie since I’ve started playing with makeup this year, so I have a ton of colorful eyeshadow but not much in the way of a good neutral workhorse. Naked Basics has become my companion palette for this gap in my collection. 🙂
2) Fyrinnae’s Pixie Epoxy: I love indie shadows and this sticky primer is perfect for making them behave. 😀
3) Fenty Beauty Galaxy Palette: Much like Naked Basics is my neutral workhorse, Galaxy is my glitter workhorse. It comes out a lot for inner corner highlights, bold face highlights and center lid halo looks.
4) Epically Epic Strawberry Pancakes lip balm: I never thought I would find something that perfectly captures a pancake breakfast smell, but this one did it. Plus it’s been great for my lips now that the heater is on all the time and I feel like a dessicated husk.
5) Mac 217 blending brush: I’ve read plenty of love for this, but I didn’t realize just how spectacular it was until I got one on a whim during a sale. Omg. I can almost blend like someone who knows what their doing.

Alecto Avatar

My first answer is the same: foundation in general! After that …

2. all my cream blushes (Bite Beauty multisticks and Fenty sticks) that I use under powder as a first layer; these have had the biggest effect on my look since I started using makeup regularly
3. all my bright, medium to medium-dark berry lipsticks; I rarely wear makeup to be “pretty,” but every now and then when I feel the need to hit the reset button and just be a girl, I put one of those on and instantly look good
4. the YSL Touche Eclat click concealer — the only undereye concealer I’ve ever liked
5. MAC Paint Pot in Groundwork; it took years to rediscover it, but since I started using it again, I’ve come to realize how completely perfect it is for simple, quick, one-color eye looks (also makes a great base)

Deborah S. Avatar

1. My favorite foundation, Chosungah 22 Luminous Light Blend in Porcelain. I will soon have 3 backups since it has been d/c’d, so sad.
2. Ciate Glow to Illuminate blush in “Masquerade” and “Summer Love”.
3. Elizabeth Arden Red Door Red lipstick.
4. Rouge Bunny Rouge Sheer Lipstick in “Perfume of His Gaze”.
5. MAC Fix Plus (nothing new to say about it-love it for everything.
Honorable Mention: Guerlain Meteorites.

MacKenzie G. Avatar

1. Glossier Cloud Paint blush (so easy and almost impossible to mess up)
2. Fenty Gloss Bomb gloss (new favorite lip gloss oh my gosh) + lip gloss in general
3. Colourpop Lunch Money highlighter (my go-to – perfect color, texture, and shine)
4. Pixi Glow Mist (perfect for a dewy, natural finish)
5. Concealer in general

CeeBee Avatar

1. My current foundation blend of Estee Lauder Double Wear Max Cover in Vanilla and The Ordinary Coverage foundation in 1.2YG.
2. Colourpop Lippie Stix in Lumiere and Cami – these are my go-to, go-with-anything always look good lip colours.
3. ABH concealer pot in 1.5 – lasts all day and a pot lasts for MONTHS.
4. Wet N Wild Max Volume waterproof mascara – doesn’t clump, flake or smudge and holds a curls like nobodies business.
5. Meteorites powder – such a luxurious treat.

Nancy T Avatar

This is EASY!
1.) The foundation/ concealer rigamarole, because my skin is a mess.
2.) Maybelline Full & Soft Waterproof Mascara! Having returned to it this past spring after a blistering bout with Zoster, I rediscovered *why* it had been my HG mascara before.
3.) LA Splash Ultra Defined Wings WP eyeliner in Sinner! (It doesn’t crack or move at all! Also have it in a deep reddish brown, Medusa!)
4.) Natasha Denona Lila Palette, because PURPLES. (Tied with that is Viseart Amethyst Theory palette, I actually use them together!)
5.) LIPGLOSS, Luminous Lipsticks, all things non-matte for lips!!! I’m sooo glad that shiny, shimmery, non-flat lip products are back in full force!

Shannon. N Avatar

1. First Aid Beauty Coconut skin smoothie priming moisturizer (So glowy and pretty!)
2. The Ordinary Silicone primer (AMAZING!!!!!!)
3. Versace Bright Crystal Perfume
4. MAC quik trik cream stick blushes (so easy to blend!! and works over powder!!)
5. Bumble and Bumble Invisible Oil hair Oil (I know its not makeup. but my hair has NEVER been better!!!)

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone who celebrates!

1. Eyeshadow primer. Always. I wouldn’t be able to wear eyeshadow without it. Too Faced Shadow Insurance and UD Primer Potion are my favorites.

2. Nyx Angel Veil Skin Perfecting Primer. Inexpensive, lightweight, and keeps makeup from sliding off and oxidizing on my oily skin.

3. E.l.f. Flawless Finish Foundation in Light Ivory. Excellent quality, DS foundation that’s a color match AND doesn’t oxidize on me? Almost too good to be true. I replaced the same in Porcelain (now called “Natural”), as Light Ivory is an even better match.

4. Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Perversion. It’s the HG black pencil liner of my dreams. It’s so dark, rich, and creamy. Once it sets it doesn’t budge. It wears really well on my waterlines and doesn’t irritate them. I use it almost every day.

5. Eyeshadow palettes. The makeup loves of my life. The colors! The packaging! YES.

Genevieve Avatar

I hope everyone is getting ready for a lovely Thankgiving weekend.
Five makeup products that I am thankful for are:
1. Foundation – like Christine
2. Natio Sunkissed blush/highlighter in Sunkissed
3. Eye brow pencil
4. Lipsticks in general, but my favs would be Clarins Joli Rouge in Cinnamon Spice, Milani’s Candied Toffee and Elizabeth Arden’s Bronze
5. Eyeshadow palettes – Sephora It Palette, Naked 1, Lorac Pro Metal and Guerlain’s Les Gris.

Joan Avatar

Happy Thanksgiving!
1. Marc Jacobs Tantastic, it taught me that bronzer can work on me!
2. Marc Jacobs colored eyeliners, they just make some of my colorful look dreams come true.
3. Marc Jacobs Genius Gel, I was about to give up on finding a cruelty free foundation that would work for me, but this one is amazing.
… apparently Marc Jacobs has been making me really happy this year! Anyway…
4. Cover Fx custom enhancer drops, for being so unique and helpful.
5. Makeup Monsters and Dose of Colors liquid lipsticks, they just let me live my life comfortably, but still with an amazing lip color!

Claire Renee Avatar

1. Not makeup really but Makeup Artists Choice peels-keep my skin good enough to sometimes choose not to wear foundation.
2. Shiseido lash curler. I have stick straight lashes that resist curling and this works great
3. Laura Mercier powder foundation
4. MAC Soft Ochre Paint Pot
5. MAC Omega & Brule eye shadows

I have to brag a bit – I’m at the stage I’m thankful for almost everything I have in my collection 🙂 and have come across some products that are all time favorites, so I will answer the question like, what products I am happy using the most at this current moment, not just out of the stuff I got lately. Here it is:

1. Smashbox Photofinish primer oil. My saviour! Works well with the foundations I have, keeps my skin moisturized.
2. MAC Prep + Prime 24-Hour Extend Eye Base. Makes such a huge difference that I think I’ll stay loyal to it for as long as humanly possible.
3. MAC Mineralize foundation loose. Perfect powder for me when I use sheer liquid foundation. Beatuful polished finish.
4. MAC Whisper of Gilt highlighter. Gold!
5. MAC Gel lipstick. Well, I’m into gold currently 🙂
