Urban Decay Gash Eyeshadow Review, Photos, Swatches

Urban Decay Gash Eyeshadow

Urban Decay Gash Eyeshadow

Urban Decay Gash Eyeshadow ($17.00 for 0.05 oz.) is described as a “deep brick red.” It’s a coppered red with a soft, frosted finish. The texture is dense and buttery, and it applies smoothly with excellent color payoff. There is subtle shimmer coupled with a muted metallic sheen. It’s a lovely example of why Urban Decay’s eyeshadows are popular.

Milani I Heart You is a little more orange but similar. MAC Coppering is closer but still pulls more orange in comparison.  Gash ends up being noticeably redder–more like a reddened copper, as opposed to a coppery orange.

Yikes, I see why they call it “gash”! It’s such a gorgeous color with clever packaging. I really need to get my hands on UD shadows! Thanks for the great review 🙂

I have heard that it is a dupe for MACs cranberry. I have this shadow and don’t use it often, I think I need to break this one out more. It is so pretty.

Thanks for letting me know Christine! I love your blog, its the first thing I check in the morning and the last before I go to bed at night. Does that mean I have a problem? 🙂

Haha this is the first eyeshadow I’ve ever bought in sephora.. I was so excited. I think I was in 7th grade at the time and I got it because Gerard way wears it. This was like 5 years ago. Sadly I threw it away. I probs should’ve kept it for sentiment, lol.

Haha oh my goodness this was the first eyeshadow I bough and I bought it because he used it. I used to wear just like he did . Oh I was in middle school. I lost this shadow I hope I come across it oneday. I think my mom may have thrown it out she HATED the eyeshadow. I may repurchase for the memories.

Haha I posted the same thing when christine posted Urban Decay swatches and I got some great suggestions. Try it in the crease with a gold like Half Baked on the lid… or you can work it in the crease and blend out for any smokey eye to add some warmth. My favorite way to wear it is in the crease with Jones in the inner 1/3 of the lid, half baked on the rest of the lid with darkhorse and smog in the outer v.

Hey Christine! I’m curious how to wear shades with a red tone to them, since they tend to make it look like your eyes are irritated. What would you suggest?

I absolutely wore this last night!! I have green eyes and it just makes them pop like you wouldn’t believe. I can’t wear it too often because the reds irritate my eyes toward the end of the night.

Yeah, I got it from Hautelook last time they had it. Still figuring out how to wear it though. I tried it with Jones on the lid & Gash in the crease, but it wasn’t quite right on me. I might try wearing Gash on the lid with a dark brown or Chains (which is one of my FAV UD shadows) in the crease next, but I might save that look for the Fall & Winter.

Major liking this one in a HUGE way! It may just pop into my basket next time I am in Sephora of course after I play with it a little.

This is by far one of my favorite UD eyeshadows EVER! Love the payoff and how rich and unique the color is. I picked it up when UD was on Hautelook for maybe $5 and it was so worth it. I am glad that others are enjoying this color as much as I do!

I absolutely love this shade. One of my favorites and one of my first UD buys. Pairs great with UD’s Rush and Ink For Eyes in Zero.

I’ve been wanting this shade forever! It was out of stock on the UD website so about a week ago I signed up to be notified via e-mail when it was back in stock. I checked the website tonight and it’s not even listed as a color option 🙁 I hope they didn’t discontinue it!

I was wondering if I could buy this off of you because I LOVED and by loved I mean used it everyday as my go to shadow and got compliments on it , I can’t find it anywhere and I’ve tried all the recommended dupes but nothing quite takes the cake :,( please get back to me god bless!

amanda Avatar

do you know of any place that still sells it or someone that doesn’t want theirs anymore ? and a second question if you don’t , do you recommend that three custom color company where they’ll re create eyeshadows etc,. ?
