Pat McGrath MatteTrance Lipstick ($38.00 for 0.14 oz.) just released nine, limited edition shades of lipstick. They’re available individually for $38 a pop but also in a three-piece set for $95 ($114 value) or a nine-piece set for $275 ($342 value).

The formula is supposed to be “richly pigmented” with “”supreme hydration” and “opulent matte opacity.” The consistency was smooth, velvety, and dense without being too firm for one-stroke, glide-on application (I found the original shades to be slightly firmer compared to more newly released shades). They had nearly opaque to opaque coverage in one layer and most were buildable.

They had a subtle sheen–more satin-to-cream in finish–that wore down to a natural matte finish within an hour or two of wear. The formula lasted between four and eight hours on me, and while most weren’t drying, they aren’t “supreme[ly” hydrating either. They are, however, comfortable to wear over a longer period of time and reapply well. There was no discernible scent or taste to the formula.

‘Course F3 has to be #1, when I have it duped to death. Vacillating between ‘what, are you nuts?’ and ‘resistance is futile.’ Prob should remind myself it’s more costly than the Nars dupes. And I need it like I need an additional skin condition.

Thanks a lot for the reviews and swatches. I got Obsessed & Full Panic, Elson looks a tad too dark for me. Can’t wait for them to arrive!

I feel so embarrassed, I hauled 1995 and Omi. I didn’t need Omi, I have so many dupes, but the want won out (and I fought that tooth and nail).

The rest of the colors just seemed too deep for me, and as much as I love Elson I don’t wear enough red to justify the cost. Omi and 1995 however…they’ll be worn to death and I will mourn their loss when I use up the whole tube.

I love the packaging so I cop a trio set; the pink set coming on Wednesday! this will be my first purchase from her as those other kit things were not my cup of tea. I am more excited about the look of the tubes than the wear of the lipstick.

The colors will pop on my skin!!

I got the Colour Blitz and while it’s a great looking product the lipstick itself isn’t so great as everyone makes it seems. I’ve had to reapply the color Full Panic a few times. While it is light weight and non-drying in a sense it has a tugging feeling on it and it sits in the lines on my lips but it’s not flaking just not awesome either. I’ll say that I’ve had better lipsticks such a Burberry Matte; that’s a light weight comfortable matte with little to no flaws. I think had I got the darker set it would have been better cause the lighter set is bit too bright and when it sits in the lip lines it’s not a good look. Overall I give it a 3/5. I’m mostly going to keep them because they are so effing cute! LOL I poured the sequins in the pink Smashbox Light it Up Mini Lipstick box and sat the liptsicks on top and with the clear top its super cute! *sidenote I didn’t have issues with the sequins like ppl talked about. I opened the package standing it upright and shaking the sequins down to the bottom then cut the top open and pulled out each lipstick shaking off the sequins with NO MESS. a few fell out but not dramatic like everyone made it seem.
