Jouer Sloane & Sunset High Pigment Lip Glosses Reviews, Photos, Swatches
Sloane
Jouer Sloane High Pigment Lip Gloss ($17.00 for 0.21 fl. oz.) is a medium coral with warm undertones and a cream finish. It had a lightweight, thin consistency that was smooth and just creamy enough to spread easily across the lips but did not feel too slippery while worn. It had nearly opaque pigmentation that applied evenly with very faint streaking along the edges from the applicator. There was a faint amount of product visible in my lip lines, though I did not detect it from a normal viewing distance. The gloss lasted for four hours and was lightly hydrating while worn.
The formula is supposed to have “full-coverage color that glides on smoothly and moisturizes the lips” with a “non-sticky” texture. The majority of the shades were semi-opaque or more pigmented with a thin, creamy texture that felt more like a hybrid between gloss and liquid lipstick than a true gloss. Despite being thinner, the gloss spread well over the lips and most shades applied evenly. There were a few shades that seemed prone to settling into my lip lines, though. They were average wearing from three to five hours with no feathering or bleeding. The formula was lightly hydrating and non-sticky with a sweet vanilla scent but no discernible taste.

Sunset
Jouer Sunset High Pigment Lip Gloss ($17.00 for 0.21 fl. oz.) is a medium peach with warm undertones and a cream finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation with a creamy consistency that was thinner but was easy to work across the lips for even coverage. The texture did seem more prone to showing up in my lip lines, though, like a milkier gloss might. The formula was comfortable to wear, non-sticky, and lightly hydrating over the three and a half hours it lasted for.

Hi Christine, I’ve been reading your blog for a few months now but never made an account until very recently. I wanted to make a comment regarding one of your posts yesterday (the warm eye look with the Morphe palette) but I hoped that you might see this more easily if it’s on your most recent post. I have to say that I was absolutely astounded by the people who were complaining about the fact that you didn’t have the full review up yet. I find your reviews to be extremely comprehensive, helpful, and usually surprisingly fast- I have no idea how it is physically possible for you test all of the products you do, and still manage to interact with commenters on a daily basis. If it were me, I would probably have replied something snarky to people leaving rude comments, but you handled them with such impressive grace and civility that I had to register an account here in order to show my support. Thanks for everything you do, and I’m looking forward to hearing about your complete thoughts on the Morphe palette!
Hi Celina,
Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement 🙂 I really appreciate your patience as I work to get to the review – it used to be very hard for me to accept taking longer (I felt like I was letting a lot of readers down) but have been better at framing it as the in-depth review is “worth the wait” and better to go in-depth than surface since the former is what I do best.
I thank you too!
If people need the item instantly (no you really don’t) they have to accept the pact we must order it sans reviews.
Sloanne is pretty, but not liking how it pulls into lip lines
It is! I think my lip liners are getting a bit more noticeable as I get older, unfortunately.
No way, Christine. My baby niece is 9 months, has full lips like her mom, and has deep lip lines. If you got them, you got them. I don’t feel so badly myself now 🙂
Both look very rich in pigment and delightful worn! Surprisingly, Sunset looks far better than many others that are this light. It looks like an easier way to wear a nude lip, because it has some color to it, plus the shine.
Sloane is one of the shades I have really given thought to, and it doesn’t disappoint! It is that *perfect* shade of peach!?
They’re very smooth and comfy to wear! I thought they’d be a little tackier/longer wearing, but they are comfortable.
They look pretty great even though they are kinda milky I’m actually impressed by the pigment as well gotta grab me some of those (: Thank you Christine!
Both of these look terrific with the beautiful “look” you created.
Hmm – both the shades look fairly similar to me, but I like Sloane better.
Happy to hear these are more moisturizing!
