Skin tone: Medium Warm
Most loved product of the week: I am loving my Guerlain Lingerie De Peau BB cream. I l mix it with a drop of Kora Noni Glow face oil and my skin looks so natural and glowing that I cannot bear to set it with a powder! This is my second summer of using Guerlain’s BB.
Most used product of the week: UD Jean Michel Basquiat lipsticks in Epigram and Abstract, lined with either Lancome’s nude lip liner or UD’s Manic lip liner, and topped with Chanel Rouge Coco gloss in Noce Moscata.
In rotation: I miss this question. Reading others comments caused me to revisit previous favorites I that I had not used in a while. Hopefully Christine won’t be mad at me for adding it back in. This week I rotated in the MAC Selena Collection and and Zoeva Cocoa Blend palette. It was fun using these products!
New beauty discoveries: I used Bite’s Verbena and then lined with NARS Consuming Red Velvet Matte Lip Pencil. The Velvet Matte Lip Pencils are a little too drying for me, but when used with more hydrating (or at least not drying) lipsticks, the NARS pencils allow me to line the lips without creating a sharp edge (like a thinner lip liner) and the darker NARS colors can help to deepen colors that just need a little extra omph (nudes) without overpowering them.
Tammy, I’ve used the LdeP foundation for years but never tried the BB Cream (I did purchase the Baby Glow, which also has SPF). I keep reading great things about the BB cream so I definitely need to give it a try.
Baby Glow is beautiful too, just a little too pink for my warm skin.
My skin tone/coloring: fair, cool
Most loved product of the week: Josie Maran Intensive Creamy Oil (it fixed the skin reaction on my eye; I’m now using it as my night time eye and face cream)
Most used product of the week: same – the Josie Maran thick oil
Any new beauty discoveries?: A sad discovery – Cargo Cosmetics are no longer available in Ontario. I love their Blu-Ray concealer and now, I’m screwed!
Wait that’s weird. Aren’t they a Canadian brand?
For a time, that was my thinking and I’d read it somewhere as well. I know they had a Canadian themed eye shadow palette or two. But it doesn’t seem to be the case that they’re Canadian and the only place they were available at all was Pharmaplus. The cosmetics lady where I shopped said they’d gone bust but they’re still online and I see in the US they are still at Kohl’s (I think that’s what the site said). I’m just glad I have backups of Blu Ray in 01 and 02 but they won’t last forever! 🙁
I think Nordstrom carries them.
Alas, no Nordies near me. If I’m in Ottawa this fall (don’t want to go this summer….well, I do but the crowds for Canada 150 will be crazy) I will check to see.
According to Wikipedia they are a Canadian brand, well they started out that way, but now available in 5 countries. My guess they were bought out? They are carried at Ulta online and in Kohls here in the US. Sad they are no longer available in Canada 🙁
Erica, I remember when they were in-store at ULTA. I tried to buy Yukon eyeshadow there (we’d gone across the border for the weekend, as we often did til recently) and it was sold out. I almost cried. A short time later, I was thrilled to see Cargo at the drug store near my school and gym so I got Yukon and had been buying the concealer too. I love some of their products and it’s sad, indeed, that they’re no longer easily available.
Skin tone: light! NC23, prominent yellow undertones.
Most loved product of the week: I want to say my MUFE eye shadows, because iv been going to town with them again. But I said that last week LOL.
Most used product of the week: physicians formula argan wear light bronzer! It’s a highlight on me, and iv been wearing a big dip into it by wearing it every day the last two weeks!
Any new product discoveries: does a re-discovery count? Iv fallen back in love with my MAC waterproof brow set!
Skintone / coloring : light, NC 20, med brown hair and eyes
Most loved : ABH Modern Renaissance. Amazes me how many looks you can create with it
Most used : Cargo Texaslash Mascara, ABH Brow Wiz, Loreal Infallible Pro Matte Foundation, Tarte Shape Tape, MAC Teddy Eyeliner
New beauty discoveries : Loreal Infallible Pro Matte lip cream in Peach Pit. Very Pretty. Tarte Shape Tape. Very impressed w the coverage and how it doesn’t need powder to set. Doesn’t work with covering pimples. Makes it cakey even using a pin point amount. Maybe it’s only for under eyes but I gave that a try and it didn’t work for that imo
Skin tone: NC20 / NW20.
Most Loved: Becca Skin Perfector in Amethyst used as an eyeshadow topper, Chanel Coco Mademoiselle edp.
Most Used: Sephora sleeping mask in Green Tea. Will repurchase.
New Discoveries: Nars Cruella lip pencil used with Revlon Cherries in the Snow lipstick. Chanel #5 L’eau.
My skin tone/coloring: Medium w/ olive undertones MAC NC37 or Lancôme Teint Idole 24H Foundation N 360, deep plummy-brunette, blue-green eyes w/ gold flecks.
Most loved product of the week: Been loving that you’ve been reviewing so many oldies but goodies lipsticks that I already had in my stash, but had totally overlooked for quite some time!
Most used product of the week: Not much! But I have been wearing a LOT of teal-blue and green whenever I do, because stuff is melting out here, and so am I!
Any new beauty discoveries? Rediscovered my Nyx Mattes, wore Strawberry Daiquiri on Thursday and fell in love all over again. Over MAC Prep & Prime for Lips, it remained creamy while always looking matte for 5 whole hours! It is less orange than Sierra, but has a beauty to it that I had forgotten. Wore it with Chanel Empriente du Desert, made me feel like a queen of the desert!
Skin tone: NW 5-10
Most loved product of the week: ColourPop Super Shock Shadow in Girly.
Most used product of the week: I haven’t had it for the whole week yet and I was late to the Kat Von D Alchemist palette train but that has been my most used product and will probably be for awhile. I am loving experimenting with it on my eyes, face and lips. I had a lot of health related things going on this week both in my immediate family and an elderly aunt so I haven’t felt much like doing anything else and have had an opportunity to just play with makeup and this little palette is so fun. I am beyond thrilled with it.
New discoveries: See above Kat Von D palette. I have tried a couple of Kat Von D products before and have liked them all but overall I guess I hadn’t tried enough to really get a feel for her products. I don’t have any other palettes. I know shocking that I don’t at least have the shade and lite palette! I have and love several of her singles shadows. I will have to investigate further.
My skin tone/coloring: Very fair with neutral undertones; magenta/red hair; hazel/green eyes.
Most loved product of the week: I’ve only had it a few days, but UD Naked Heat. I love the shades, the quality, and the packaging. Being as fair-skinned as I am, the shades differentiate well on me.
Most used product of the week: Powder foundation (a Frankenstein mix of last bits and samples at the moment); Nyx HD Powder; Milani Rose Powder Blush in Coral Cove; ABH Moonchild Glow Kit.
Any new beauty discoveries?: En Fuego from the Naked Heat palette works well as a brow powder on me.
Skin tone Medium warm with olive undertones
Most loved product of the week & Most Used: Sulwhasoo perfecting cushion intense
Not sure if it is a tad light for me but after it is on for a few minutes it seems fine.
New product discovery: I just started using Bobbi Brown Santa Barbara Illuminating Bronzing Powder & I am in love with the shade and formula.
Maria,
Sulwhasoo Perfecting Cushion is one of my favorites. I like a lot of cushion foundations and Korean foundations in general. I have found them to be very forgiving to my 63 year old skin. I try to get a new one to try every so often. I saw that Sulwhasoo has released some correcting cushions and hope they are coming to Nordstrom’s here in the US so I can try.
My skin tone/colouring: Porcelain, with pink undertones
Most loved product of the week: Enjoyed playing with my Clarins Natural brown eye quint. Very pretty shades
Most used product of the week: Rimmel Match Perfection Cream/ Gel Foundation – easy to use and looked good on my face.
In Rotation: This week I am rotating Vice 2 with my Dior Jardin quint to give it some love.
Any new beauty discoveries?: I have found out that I love Rewind, one of the few mattes in Vice 2 as a crease shade for my eyes. It’s an example of what a really good matte should be like.
Skin tone: Fair with neutral undertones
Most loved product of the week: Too Faced Sweet Peach palette. I have been going for a peachy-pinky eye look a lot recently, incorporating the Mally shadow stick in Copper Rose.
Most used product of the week: Too Faced Chocolate Soleil bronzer. It’s the perfect color for me right now, plus I want to use it up before digging in to the Marc Jacobs Tantastic bronzer.
Any new beauty discoveries? Today I used a foil packet sample of the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Foundation in the color fair, and I loved the coverage and how it wore on my skin. I might end up purchasing it– after I use up some of my current foundations, of course.
Skin tone-light olive w/neutral undertones
Most loved product of the week-R+Co Trophy Spray-extends my hair style for a couple of days, adds shine and texture
Most used this week: Super Goop CC Cream-tinted with 35 spf-love it-not greasy, stays even, doesn’t look heavy
New discovery: Pretty Vulgar Rising Arc Twisted Tale Brow Gel-so easy to apply and stays put-only thing I wore yesterday and I left it on overnight, was still there in the morning!! And also Clinique Chubby Plump & Shine in Portly Peach-makes my lips look fuller and shiny but not sticky.
