What a horrible name for a brand though… I don’t think I’ll every buy it.
I have to agree. Just when I was hoping that companies would follow Hourglass’s inspiring names and move away from drug, violence and vulgarity names, here comes THIS company! (mind you, some of the names of the actual products seem pretty innocuous)
Lara
Agree! I don’t mind Urban Decay’s drug related and edgy names but a brand that calls itself vulgar ? No thanks. There are plenty of other choices out there. Call me old fashioned or humorless if you want to (not you personally)
Rachael
Agreed! I really don’t need to be putting “snatch” eyeshadow on with my “clit” lipgloss. Just no to this. It was edgy in 2002 when UD was doing it, now its condescending.

Thanks. Very interesting. The e/s mattes range from dreadful to decent, not surprisingly. The l/s look more satin than matte, that red though! And the 3 blushes you chose all have a radically different levels of shimmer. Don’t recall that detailed a description on S’s website. The early bird might do it, for people looking for a better white chocolate chip…PV sure has some pretty, feminine packaging. Based on my feeling of ‘all over the place,’ not only am I waiting for you reviews/dupes, but pretty sure am not comfortable with sight unseen purchase.

Wow! I had very low expectations for this brand (it seems like it can’t figure out what it wants to be, with the clashing vibes of its name vs. product aesthetics)– but these look beautiful. The lip products are all stunning, and the eyeshadow palettes are surprisingly good as well, although there do seem to be a lot of similar, pale shades.
I do believe that’s the point, to have clashing aesthetics. Its appealing to people, but not necessarily everyone will approve. But then again, super popular products also have pretty bad names (Orgasm, Deep Throat, Snatch)!
Emily
I can’t stop looking at that Made with Mischief liquid lip. There are some mighty pretty swatches here. I wasn’t expecting to like so many of these, as the packaging looks so cutesy/gimmicky, but a lot of the swatches look good to me!
I love the look of this whole collection! The Nightingale palette is the one I’m most likely to buy, but I like Pretty Birdie too. The eye look you did with it is so pretty on you, especially with the blue lower lash line. I’m looking forward to seeing your reviews on this collection. I’m trying not to do an impulse buy!!
I’ve been wondering about this brand. I had not heard of them before they popped up on the Sephora website.
Made with Mischief and Artful Deception look beautiful. The other lip products and the blushes look good, too.
The matte eyeshadows look patchier they darker they get, though I think the shimmers are very pretty (Silver Spoon). I like their packaging, too.
Like I mentioned on a Facebook group, I believe I may have just fallen in love with a brand. This swatches verify that this up and coming brand could be the one to watch! I see many items here that I am seriously interested in.
I had never heard of this brand until they blew up after coming to Sephora. I have since seen several YT influencers swatch and do tutorials using the products. They all seem to like the products. Your swatches and my own sense of caution make me willing to wait and see what you think. The shadow swatches look a little all over the place. Time will tell if this is the new big brand. Looking forward to your reviews.
Robin
I love all of the swatches. Very impressed with the look of the products!!!
Karen
I bought Pretty Birdy and i must say i like it. I’m not keen on the but i mainly bought it for the metallics so i’m pretty happy!

Any word on what, exactly, this brand is going for? I find their aims confusing…color performance aside, slightly edgy brand and product names with the Too Faced cutesy packaging…this doesn’t seem at all editorial and as a consumer, I really just don’t get it.
I’m pleasantly surprised by the quality of the products. With the repelling brand name and the cutesy packaging, I wasn’t expecting much, but the lip products and blushes in particular look great!
Apart from the brand’s name, these look fairly decent products. The lip glosses are lovely shades, a beautiful red lippie, lovely universal blushes and reasonable eye shadows (a couple of patchy mattes though). The review will be interesting.
Katherine T.
Very curious about this brand, since I saw it pop up on Sephora. Some of the shadows look like they could use help of primer but overall, interesting colors in their products, looks good quality, not bad for a new brand. Eyeing that pink blush with shimmer and the bold shadow palette, some more unique colors in there!
Judith
I think this brand is related to Too Faced? I read somewhere that the ingredients are the same as one or several of their palettes. Made in the same factory in the Dominican Republic? If you notice the packaging, colors and names are very similar to the sexist names Too Faced uses on theirs.
Oh man, those metallic liquid lips. Artful Deception is calling to me. Also, Early Bird reminds me a lot of my UD x Gwen Stefani palette, just slightly cooler toned? I kind of want it but then I…already own UD Gwen Stefani and I need to not buy endless dupes. Nightingale is a bit disappointing – I don’t wear those colours but I kind of wanted it because Nightingale reminds me of the Rivers of London books.
Also, what is with “Glimmers of BS” and “Baby Doll Against BS”?? I mean, if they do mean “bullshit” instead of BS it’s just…not appealing or even grammatically coherent? Like “glimmers of bullshit” just isn’t something I want to slather on my face, you know what I mean? It’s like UD Backdoor lipstick all over again.
I’m thrilled you are trying this brand out. I read a few articles about the brand and was intrigued enough to check them out on the app. I really like the packaging but wasn’t going to order until I saw some reviews. Now that I’ve seen the swatches and your eye look for pretty birdie I’m very interested.
Viki
The metallic lips looks pretty promising but the rest of the stuff doesn’t look so wow-ing at all. The eyeshadows look like they are not pigmented and are patchy. Can’t wait to read the reviews!
Jerily
The liquid lipsticks are gorgeous but the eyeshadow is kinda hit or miss. :/
Although it would probably be sometime before it is made available in Asia, I love the packaging of this line, and I’m eager to see what you think of the products!

I think the packaging is so so pretty. When I saw it on Sephora’s instagram I was really excited- then I saw the company name. Nope, I won’t buy now. Why oh why do companies have to do stuff like this? Either make super pretty girly stuff and name it accordingly (or at least keep it neutral) or go for edge like Kat Von D.
There’s just no way I’m pulling a lipstick that says “Pretty Vulgar” out of my handbag. I don’t care how great the product is. I’m so disappointed. 🙁
I think that this is following Kylie Cosmetics trend of kind of going against what’s established.
Honestly, the quality of these products look amazing!
Aleks
I just love this and I have already ordered some stuff. Thank you so much for the swatches, Christine. I am online wondering if you mixed up the lipsticks Blood Flower (red) and Darling be Daring (magenta)?
Megan
I’m looking forward to your opinions on this line! I like the look of the packaging on the mascara and lip products – it reminds me of Paul and Joe and Jill Stuart (both hard to find in the US), although I agree with other readers that the names are a bit incongruous with the cutesy designs. Anyway, looking forward to see if they hold up well- some of those matte eyeshadows look patchey!
Well the lip and cheek products look really nice! I’m glad you are reviewing these, I probably wouldn’t have given them a second glance otherwise. I can’t wait to see the full review on that highlighter to know if it’s good and/or unique – I actually find the “Glimmers of BS” name hilarious 🙂
kellly
I don’t know if it’s the quality of the products or your expert application techniques, but pretty much all the colors, lips, cheeks and eyes, seem very smooth and the colors look so even. I’m going to check these out. I’m not much on palettes or mattes but some of those eye colors look really pretty.
I have to admit I’m intrigued by the Early Bird eyeshadow palette and some of the blushes…. I’ve been waiting to see if you would swatch and review! Now just waiting for the grades and dupes list. I won’t buy until Temptalia gives me her review!
The liquid lipstick look amazingly pigmented and they seem like they apply super even!!
And the shadow palettes look so beautiful.
I need them all… I was planning to go on a no buy for a couple of months but this kind of made my makeup little angel wake up and whisper sweet nothings in my ear!!!
Zoe
Lip products look good.
Eyeshadows average to okay, but nice range of shades and finishes.
Don’t get the pearl clutching at the name, the product is what matters.
Zoe, I don’t get it, either. The word “vulgar” has more than one meaning or connotation. It can mean, as many seem to take it, sexually “dirty”, but far more often than not, it means loud, ostentatious, or gaudy.
Zoe
Exactly. Names are what you make of them and I think people are projecting, here.
That said, I am against some names, like “underage” or “ocd” which trivialize actual societal issues.
The name… why? That alone will not get my money. I love the bird theme… why didn’t they just go with Birdie Cosmetics or anything else.
All that aside the liquid lipsticks look fun but I’m not into the metallic look. The lipsticks lool pretty but the color is deceiving; that pink looks kind of berryish but comes out bright pink.
The blushes look nice and soft. Don’t care for the highlighters.
The palettes are cute…not Too Faced girlie kiddie cute either however they look cheap….like Too Faced lol.
This entire line looks like it smells sweet like raspberries or something.
Overall its a cute line but the name is pretty pathetic and juvenile…..ha that should be shadow names…look I can make eyeshadow too
This is very promising. People offended in the comments of course lol ?? Thank you as always Christine!

I think the name is too fun, not sure what the fuss is about. I got the Pretty Birdie palette and one of the liquid lipsticks and I just love them. The vintage style packaging is right up my alley. Love!

Oooh, I am massively intrigued! Those metallic lippies and the shadow palettes look fabulous.
I’m not loving the quality of the eyeshadows, but Made With Mischief is taking my breath away!

I agree. The aesthetic for the packaging and names is odd. Rather than being an interesting play on opposites, it comes across as confused.
I’m pleasantly surprised by the quality of the products. With the repelling brand name and the cutesy packaging, I wasn’t expecting much, but the lip products and blushes in particular look great!
