Tom Ford Disclosure Cheek Color Review, Photos, Swatches
Disclosure
Tom Ford Disclosure Cheek Color ($60.00 for 0.25 oz.) is a medium-dark pink with subtle, cool undertones and a mostly matte finish. It had medium, buildable pigmentation–up to mostly opaque–that applied fairly evenly to the skin. I felt like it took a bit of extra effort to really diffuse and blend out the blush, but it wasn’t too much work to get the blush into place. The texture was thin, a little dusty in the pan, but finely-milled. It wore well for nine and a half hours before fading on me.
For 2017, Tom Ford reformulated this powder blush formula, and the new formula is described as “layers of possibility, from a sexy glow to a more dramatic, color-rich look” (that sounds like “buildable”) that is supposed to apply “with the comfort of a cream.” Overall, the texture is thinner, finely-milled but drier than the original formula, and the shimmer has become finer and less apparent through many of the new-old shades. The formula was still fairly blendable to very blendable and particularly long-wearing with semi-opaque to opaque pigmentation.

Pretty cheery color!
It is!
I find EL/TF very amusing and ridiculous. Lucky I have two Wicked blushes- original, with .35 oz. even if the formula changed, the weight can’t possibly decrease by .10 oz. this brand does what it does best reduce the amount as time goes on. I haven’t bought TF in a long time and likely won’t buy more. With so many brands out there to choose, I can find something that cost less. Besides I have so much makeup that it wouldn’t be able to use it all. Surratt seems to have a color like this. Sayonara TF.
I do wonder what drove the reformulation of the blush range (rather than simply adding less shimmery shades).
For $60, it needs to be flawless. The OG formula was. Even though I never purchased one, I have swatched them on my arm in the past. This shade is a stunner, but the lack of the OG luminosity kills it for me. Oh well, there’s others.
I agree – should be perfect at this price point!
Great review! I’ve heard so many good things about this TF cheek color. I really need to get one for myself. Thanks
No problem, Megan!
I love the way this one looks buffed/blended out!
Very pretty colour. Steep price and difficulty in buying/seeing in-store mean I won’t likely be buying this, though.
Very nice, I’ll have to keep this one on my list.
It’s just awful when a brand ‘reformulates’ because quite often the product ends up being worse than the original…. with their hefty prices and big claims, Tom Ford really needs to nail the product.
If it wasn’t for the price I would have loved it, lol. Instead I’m leaving it!
I bought this shade and love it, but… the comparison between the old and the new is very much evident when blending this one out against my light skin.
The new formula is lost on me. I snapped up 4 at CCOs (more affordable at $42) and am only missing Frantic Pink. I adore the original formula and each shade works on my skintone. There would have to be something pretty spectacular in the new formulas for me to consider a blush again. That said, the blush in their Eye & Cheek palettes and the blush/highlighter duos seem to have the original luminosity that made TF blushes special.
