MAC Extra Dimension blushes. I had difficult time picking out a blush. Wanted them all!
I have had a few lately. I am going to have to say it is the Cle de Peau products that I purchased on my trip to Seattle this week. I had gone to Seattle the end of March and had picked up a few samples and then when I had to return unexpectedly this week I purchased those products plus a couple recommendations from Temptalia readers. I got the Radiant Fluid Foundation, the concealer, two cream blushes and two highlighters. I have to say, I am impressed with all of these products. The finish on the foundation is truly beautiful. My skin has never looked so good. I am very happy and want to try a couple of other products. The price tags will give you sticker shock though, LOL.
Yay! Glad you’re enjoying them!
Benefit Dandelion set, Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, Colourpop Cornelius Supershock eyeshadow
Urban Decay Vice lipstick in Hitchhike (comfort matte). Surprisingly great color. Nice formula. And it wears off so evenly … no ring/patchy etc. I’m just still surprised how much I like this, when the color in the tube didn’t look like it would wow me.
Shiseido Future Solution LX Total Radiance Powder – love this for a finishing powder, buffed/swirled with a 187. I love the softened, blurred effect it gives and my face feels like silk afterward. I’m not sure if it’s the buffing/swirling with the MAC 187 or Sigma F50 alone and the powder has nothing to do with it, or if it really is the powder but I just love it.
Too Faced blushes. I never tried them due to the packaging, but the staying power and color payoff is amazing.
I finally tried Lancome Teint Idole foundation. It is GORGEOUS! I believe it has replaced Estee Lauder DW as my HG foundation. It’s so light and just melts into the skin and still provides full coverage.
Le Maquillage Maqpro Makeup Mixer 🙂
So I finally caved in and I bought myself the Colour Pop ultra satin liquid lipstick in Magic Wand and I’ve fell madly in love with it. I would say my love for it felt like realizing I was in love with my boyfriend of 8 years. ?
I haven’t used any lipsticks ever since I got it. I’ve used it like crazy and I was highly impressed how perfect it looked on me! It’s comfortable, it’s incredibly beautiful… it’s kind of my child now.
Skin-care-wise, it’s an eye serum from Jouviance. I’m really amazed by it. I’ve been using it for 2 or 3 weeks and my one droopy/hooded lid is considerably less hooded! The 2 makeup products – MAC 24 Hour Eye Base and the eyeshadow crayons from Essence (both the quality of the product and the price are beyond “impressive”).
It’s a toss up of a few things, but I’ll give the nod to MAC’s Desert Rose blush. Not a new product by any means, but new to me. When you’re husband says, “that looks nice on you,” you’ve got something there. 🙂 It’s a lovely blush color that is the longest lasting of any I own — it wins over TF and Hourglass, which are both quite good.
Of the new things I have acquired, runners up include:
MJ Re(marc)able foundation. Once you dial in the application, that stuff wears like iron. Doesn’t budge all day — at least that is my experience.
BITE Beauty Lipstick pencil in Pomegranate. Comfortable to wear, such a pretty red, and it lasts quite well.
Love pomegranate!
In Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty sale, I picked up one of Butter London’s Sheer Wisdom Serum Shadows in the color Maplewood. I’d been wanting to try a better-quality liquid eyeshadow for a while, but the prices, uff da. Anyway, I LOVE it. Goes on smoothly, feels nice, lasts all day with no creasing. And it’s matte — so hard to find really good mattes it seems.
omg, uff da!! Haven’t seen anyone use that here before. My MN is showing, haha!
The Ordinary ‘Buffet’ and ‘Matryxil’ skincare products. Very soon after using these products, I noticed my skin was a little tighter (but not dry or uncomfortable), fine lines around my eyes less prominent, and my skin is softer overall.
On the makeup side, I am really loving Chanel’s Lumiere de Kyoto blush/highlighter. The rose shade blush is gorgeous and unique in my collection and the highlighter is beautiful. I only wish they left the powder out of the compact.
Givenchy prism libre loose powder. It gives it enough oil control and looks smooth and is non drying. I like to use it with the powder puff that comes with it. Later I heard Rimmel stay matte was good so I tried it — no comparison with givenchy whatsoever. Givenchy all the way!
Pixi Glow Tonic… I really like the finish it gives to the skin and I’ve used it under and over makeup.
Err, Glow Mist I mean!
Cover fx total cover waited a while to try it wish I hadn’t.
Laura Mercier radiance primer. Not new on the market, but new to me. In addition to adding a nice light to my look, it seems to have had a remarkable effect on my skin, presumably since it forms a barrier between skin and foundation. I’ve not found this effect in other foundation primers.
Monistat chafing gel for a primer. It’s awesome.
I second this motion! Lol I have used brand name, expensive face primers and none of them compare to my Monistat Anti-chafing Gel. Combine its performance with its cost and the size of the tube, and you have a product that’s pretty much perfection!
I saw this on YouTube. One of the beauty experts, I think it was Tati, recommended this.
I love it. It’s hard to find in my rural area, it sells out so fast. I order online and get 5-6 at a time. I wear it even on days when I’m not wearing foundation. It smoothed my skin look.
YSL Volupte Tint in Balm I love the vibrant tint and the formula. Also it was awhile ago I picked up the first one I just purchased another but I love Victoria Beckham’s lip gloss
Moroccan Heat it is my favorite lip gloss. I know a lot of people don’t like the container and clicking to have the product come out. I like the concept and so far it has worked for me but if it doesn’t work I could understand the frustration. But the brush at the end I do like. I find the formula to be perfect. It isn’t sticky at all it is just lovely and it lasts on the lips. I just wish she would do more in different shades.
Estee Lauder Heat Wave Highlighter
Dermalogica skin care products. I had a facial at Ulta few days ago, and just never imagined that my skin could feel this nice. I wasn’t looking for a new regimen but I definitely found one. I’m also really impressed with Lorac eyeshadows; I’m kind of on a Lorac kick on general right now I guess.
The Sephora It Palette in Nudes – some bloggers had been a bit meh about it, but when I swatched the shades in Sephora, I thought it was pretty good. The palette has its shortcomings (no gold), but they are the perfect taupe and grey shades that I have been looking for all my life. There is even a lovely peach and a couple of different browbone shades too.
My second surprise is the Clarins Super Restorative Foundation in Linen – I actually bought a foundation sight unseen – which is something I thought I would never do. The foundation formula had been raved about and Linen was the lightest shade. The price was so low that I thought I would give it a shot. To my utter amazement, it is my holy grail foundation. I ordered two more bottles and then the site had run out.
It is very comfortable to wear, lasts all day, not too shiny or matte. Just perfect.
I’m still pretty impressed and obsessed with Anastasia Beverly Hills Lipglosses! They are the glosses I’ve been looking for all my life: smooth & comfortable to wear, yet long-lasting & highly pigmented. I actually consider them more of a non-matte liquid lipstick. It’s the only lip product I’ve bought in the last year, and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.
I am enjoying the Spring Limited Edition from WetnWild the colors have turned out so perfectly in my cool skin (I’m usually the first two colors in foundation very light, brown hair and hazel eyes, easy to burn never tan unfortunately. Hate my legs I’m runner and wear shorts after ten years they are still white as a gallon of milk! Yuck! Lol! I’m supposed to be Tropical of all things). I find the eyeshadows, lip tubes and creamy blushes suit me perfectly from this Spring edition all creamy and so delicate soft colors. The ci cealer is awesome I warm it up in my finger then spread it it goes on unnoticeable under my eyes. The other i like is Dulce de Leche that very light powder is so good under eyes circles or lack of sleep days is a very fine powder unbelievably good for super cheap! For expensive I’m dying to get some stuff from Cle De Peau keep hearing they are awesome but pricey plus reminds of Pepe Le Peau how can you fall in love with if? :).
Now that I’ve been using it from its bottle all weeklong, Lancôme Teint Idole Foundation (24 hour? Now, I’m not even going to try that!). I absolutely love that it doesn’t budge. Not even in 88-90° sitting in the park! Or running errands! Yeah, I’m in love with my foundation, LoL.
Also, will mention another product that impressed me greatly: Marula oil! Received a small bottle in March’s Ipsy Bag, but never gave it a try until this week.
I was going to buy this oil two weeks ago but hesitated. Do you put in on before your moisturizer, with your moisturizer, or after? I have been playing with oils and foundation application. I spread 2 drops of oil on back of my hand, and put my one pump of foundation on top, mix a little, and apply. It makes for a more skin-like look but it cuts down on the wear time of my foundation.
Hi Tammy, I only use Marula Oil at night before bedtime. And I very weirdly do the reverse of almost everyone else by applying my oils BEFORE serums and lastly, moisturizer. Although, on the nights that I apply PTR 3% Retinol, I apply the retinol first and let it soak in for a good 10 minutes before adding the oils. Additionally, I always allow oils to sink in for 10-20 minutes before applying serum and moisturizer, because if I do it the other way around, the oils cause the moisturizer to lift and pill on me! It’s really weird!
I’m so happy the Lancome Teint Idole worked for you.
Thank you, Rachel! Had I not read your glowing comments on it over the past year, plus other’s great experiences with it, I never would have tried it, much less forked over that much $’s for a foundation! But it is absolutely worth it!?
IT Cosmetics Vitality Lip Blush Hydrating Gloss that is also a great stain! Very moisturizing! I didn’t have high hopes and I was pleasantly surprised!
I got the Sephora V for Volume mascara in … burgundy? (can’t remember the color name and can’t read it on the label.) I doesn’t add volume, but that’s not why I got it anyway — I wanted the amazing color. Anyway, it defines each. and. every. lash, and lengthens nicely. No clumps, nothing even remotely resembling a clump, even with two coats (which I rarely even attempt with other mascaras because of clump issues). Love it.
I would add that I’m not one of those people who needs their eyelashes to look like fake lashes when I’m done with mascara — dark and defined is just fine for me.
Tarte Make Believe in Yourself Palette. It’s so beautiful and easy to use. Nyx Lip Lingerie Liquid Lipstick: Why did I wait so long to try them? Great, comfortable formula and so far every color I’ve worn looks flattering on me.
I haven’t bought any yet, but the MAC Extra Dimension Blushes and ABH Aurora Glow Kit look fantastic.
The NYX Lid Lingerie Shadow Palette. I bought it on a whim because I loved the colors but it turned out to be a surprisingly good palette! It’s pretty pigmented and blends nicely too. When paired with a primer, it rivals some of the higher end palettes I’ve tried before. NYX has really been stepping it up lately!
That I’ve purchased? For skincare, pretty much everything I’ve gotten from Korean brands has been a rave!
As for makeup: Smashbox Primer Oil, MUFE WaterBlend, Bite Pastille and Rhubarb, Hourglass Illusion Skin Tint, and Tarte Rainforest of the Sea. Even though RotS is chock full of silicones, I didn’t break out after testing it a few times in a row.
Hair: Christophe Robin’s Prickly Pear Mask
Body: Hand Chemistry Retin Oil
Perfume: AC Vanille Insensee and Marc Jacobs Devine Decadence
Stila Liquid Metals. Hi Christine, Just in a swatch! Wow!!!
Gina
Anastasia Modern Renaissance palette! I got it months ago but hadn’t used it for a while up until recently. I guess I forgot how good it is, those shadows practically blend themselves! 🙂
