MAC Packed to Go: Warm Smokey Eyeshadow Palette

MAC Packed to Go: Warm Smokey Eyeshadow Palette

MAC Packed to Go Warm Smokey Eyeshadow Palette ($38.00 for 0.19 oz.) includes: Shroom (soft beige with shimmer), Naked Lunch (minimal pink with shimmer), Tempting (sinfully rich coco), Greensmoke (tarnished olive), Stormy Love (dirty brown with green frost), and Showstopper (deep blackened brown). Stormy Love is the only new and exclusive shade here, while Showstopper isn’t available in the permanent range, it has been released several times in the past (it is a favorite to be repromoted).

  • Shroom is a pale, soft beige with a soft frost finish. It’s a slightly sheered shade and popular highlighter color. This has a satin finish and is part of the permanent range.
  • Naked Lunch is a pinked beige with a smooth, frost finish. This has a frost finish and is part of the permanent range.
  • Tempting is a warm, golden bronze. This has a lustre finish and is part of the permanent range. It is one of the few lustres that I like, because it has a smooth texture and doesn’t have lots of glittery bits.
  • Greensmoke is a blackened olive green with subtle gold shimmer, and it is rather sheer and stiff here. This has a lustre finish and is part of the permanent range.
  • Stormy Love is a duochrome of teal and brown–it’s like a richer, tealer version of Blue Brown pigment… Club on steroids. This has a frost finish and is exclusive to this palette.
  • Showstopper is a dark, cool-toned brown. It has a matte finish, and it has been out in several other collections.

If you’re familiar with MAC’s holiday palettes from last year, the packaging is very similar–this palette is just all black and has no special design on the outside. The palette contains $55.10 worth of eyeshadow ($14.50 for 0.05 oz. for individual eyeshadows), so unlike the lip/face palette, this one is a much better deal.

It’s too bad I already have most of these shadows because it’s a really nice palette and Stormy Love is gorgeous. I hope they re-release it in another collection.

I might pick this up as the only perm shades I have from this palette are Shroom and Showstopper. Stormy Love is gorgeous and has a great name to match!

Stormy Love is such an awesome color! I wish this were available separately, because I feel like I have dupes of all the other colors available in this palette.

Szlamizita Avatar

These palettes are only available in the online MAC store?Or it will appear in all international stores?
Because these colors are really unique! 🙂

Even though this is called a “warm” pallet, do you think a light and cool-toned (NW15-NW20) person can wear these colors? Thank you!

Gerdur Avatar

I really like this palette, thats a change usually I dont like them. But my favorite is the Stormy Love because I love Club but this one is more intense, would love to see that one in a pro palette or in a limited collection because I cant get my hands on this palette because they dont come to Iceland 🙁

I hope that they repromote Stormy Love as well as A Brown Suit and Tendersmoke because I have all of the other colors in these palettes and those three shades are so beautiful. Are you reading this MAC, repromote these shades as singles!!!!!!

I already have most of the shadows in this palette (and pretty close dupes of the others)so won’t be buying it but it is a nice idea having all 6 of them in one palette! Very handy for travel or for toting around in one’s purse.

amelia Avatar

best combo of shadow’s ive EVER seen in a M.A.C. palette. definitely buying this. even the dud shade is a nice colour that would be flattering on my skin tone, i think. i dont have any of these colours but have wanted most of them! buying it!

Jennifer Avatar

I don’t have 4 of the six shades, but really only would want it for Stormy love…It’s like a non reddish blue-green version of club shadow… I love club.

Oh well.

Why must they put “Showstopper” in every palette now? I have a reg. pot version of it, and it in last holiday’s set. Don’t they have any other brown to put in? I don’t need it a third time. lol

Hi Christine, I have swatched Greensmoke in the MAC store and it’s always come off really sheer. Is this version of the color sheer in general or is it sheer compared to the regular version? Thanks for the lovely review as always!

katie Avatar

hello, i love pretty much everything here, but does anyone know if these will come to the uk and if so around what date???

Caroline Avatar

I’m at a bind and just love both cool and warm palettes but not sure if I should get both. I don’t have any of those colors (just starting to get back into makeup) and I have a neutral undertone. Which palette is worth purchasing if you had to chose one?

Dawn Avatar

Stormy Love is gorgeous! Unfortunately I have all the other colours, so it’s not worth me buying this palette if it becomes available here in the UK

Hi Christine! I was looking back at some of your reviews of TheBalm’s Shady Lady. Would Jealous Jordana be similar to the green/teal aspects of Stormy Love? Does that make sense?

Sydney Avatar

I love this palette, except for Tempting. It reminds me too much of Bronze eyeshadow, which I have and don’t really use that much.

I actually don’t think any of these are a dud! I personally like greensmoke and have it and tempting in my collection. I think these colors are so versatile and PERFECT for travel.. which seems like an obvious intent here. Even if u have one or two of these shades its still a great on the go palette. Im wearing it now and I love how greensmoke and the other green color make my eyes pop! Wish this pallet came with an eyeliner, I’d be set for travel.
