MAC Big Bounce Shadow: Photos/Swatches, Part 2

Make sure you read my original, in-depth review for these eyeshadows here. This post only contains photos and swatches of the second half of the shades that will launch on May 5th. Each retails for $16.50.  I just did heavier swatches here (I just used whatever stuck to the spatula I used to fish each shade out), but these can go from sheer to medium coverage.

  • My Next Indulgence is a dark forest green with a blackened base.
  • Reward Yourself is a muted copper with a golden champagne shimmer-sheen.
  • Rich, Sweet is a dark, rich chocolate brown with a bronzy-brown sheen.
  • Rich Thrills is a purple-tinged, silvery gray.
  • Sizzlin’ Diva is a darkened, bronzed copper with a metallic sheen.
  • Spread the Wealth is a dirty olive green with multi-colored micro-shimmer and metallic sheen.
  • Trophy is a pinky champagne with a metallic sheen.
  • Up the Ante is a rich, coppery shade with micro-glitter (the texture is like Impeccably Rich).

These pics make the products look so yummy, especially the super-duper close-ups! Like seriously, I kinda wanna put them in my mouth. Though I don’t think they would taste too good, lol.. >.<

Emily Avatar

I know! I want to eat Rich,Sweet.. I mean they *are* capitalizing on it’s resemblence to chocolate. I am just crossing the T’s and dotting the I’s!

shortie Avatar

why would anybody buy these. the benefit cream shadows and MUFE aqua creams are so much better in quality. people dont buy stuff just cause its from mac. if its a crappy product just leave it. i know both benefit and MUFe are more expensive but at least ur getting quality for the price

Evelyn Avatar

while the colors are pretty not sure if they’d be efficient as bases .. i prefer the paint pots or my TFSI … i’ll have to go into the store and feel the texture of these .. thanks for the review!

Chantal Avatar

I know! I’m so frustrated that there are so few permanent paint pot shades; it’s such a great formula. And now, instead of releasing some much needed LE colours, they launch a difficult new formula instead! Why does MAC do this to us?

Allison Avatar

I have no interest in these whatsoever, but every time I see them I just want to EAT THEM (shoutout to whoever said that). Or squish them. The texture looks so lovely. I’m glad I’m not the only one. 😛

espresso Avatar

Again, the closeups..! <3 If you posted them anywhere in really high resolution, if I found this on deviantart or something, I'd surely download them all and put them as wallpapers on my private desktop one after the other ^^ I love macros of make up for that, especially when the shimmer in it has such beautiful light effects!

Shiri Avatar

Why couldn’t MAC have made these beautiful color into Paint Pots???!!! Why??!!! They would sell like crazy if they were paint pots.
🙁

Evelyn Avatar

They look so pretty but I had expected them to be more of a mousse, like the Buxom shadows or the Maybelline mousse blushes. These seem…rather goopy. oh well!

Carrie Ann Avatar

I don’t like these at all. Sure, the colors are pretty, but what’s the point if you can’t wear them alone w/o creasing? This product is probably meant for professional makeup artists. My wallet thanks you for your honest reviews. 🙂

Elle Avatar

I so, so, SO wish these were paint pots! And you know you eat too many cupcakes when all you can think of when you look at these is frosting…

Stacey Avatar

Lovely photos Christine. I echo what everyone has said about wishing these were paint pots. Most of these shades would sell out if they were! I’ve not heard anything good about them thus far though. It’s probably good for my bank balance!!

amalia Avatar

christine this is random but i do not know where else to put it. Do you know if the MAC pro loose beauty powders are still avaiable are they perm?

Marissa B Avatar

It’s a shame that these look so beautiful, yet perform so poorly. Just as well because I think I would have wanted them all, those closeups are so amazing you can see all the details and flecks of pigment in the color itself!!

Julia Avatar

Too bad that something that look so delicious in the pot seem to perform so utterly crappy! I would have bought all of them if they where Paint Pots! You hear me MAC?

Martha Avatar

I think Mac should maybe change the names of these to Mac Big Bounce Eye Shadow BASE??? Or maybe that is what they are actually called, someone in the factory forgot to add BASE?

MissVix Avatar

Love, love, LOVE the colours – if they had the staying power of the paint pots or fluidlines, I’d buy the lot. Shame to hear they didn’t get the consistency right. Let’s hope for improvement on that score!

Jennifer Avatar

The colors are really pretty in the close up pot shots.
Too bad MAC didn’t take their time and develop a better formula for them. I guess that’s why they are LE. lol

I probably will get Rich Sweet.

Christine,
For Rich Sweet was one of the more pigmented ones or did you have to really work to get it densely pigmented looking for the swatch?

Dini Avatar

Thanks for all the swatches. They all look so very lovely, swirled up like mousse in the pots! Too bad that they are limited edition. I might pick up a few colors, just to see if there are ways to play with them and up the wear time or usefulness of these. The colors themselves are great.

Michilicious ~ Avatar

If you wear these over a primer and set with eye shadow, will it be more prone to creasing than if you would just wear primer and eye shadow?
I too think many people would prefer these to be paint pots, although they DO look appealing in their jars…

Sarah M Avatar

To me, these just look like they would make way too much of a mess and I don’t have the time or energy to be cleaning up after them. Lol.

Amanda Avatar

I’ve done this tonight. I used Parfait Amore over Count Your Assets. It holds pretty well. I also did the reverse, and felt it had better staying power. IMO.

Pamela S Avatar

Ok question what do you think about mixing in some pigment? would that change the whole thing? for the better or for the worse?…

Kayleigh Avatar

If I wanted a matching eyeshadow color to layer over Trophy, would Naked Lunch be a good color match, or is there a closer color? Thanks!

Amanda Avatar

Just wondering how Up The Ante would look as a base with Peacocky Paparazz-she over it. I feel like that might work beautifully. Ofcourse, I am judging by the pics. Maybe Reward yourself would work better actually. This may be the only reason I purchase one.

Amanda Avatar

Ok, I must say, Spread The Wealth, as a base is outstanding, as opposed to wearing it alone, which is less then complementary. I actually took your advise Christine and used it as the base to Sumptuous Olive. Swatched again with Juxt. Both colors were outstanding with the olive as the base color, and gave each a different yet unique look. Definitely does take more time, but I automatically fell in love with this product instead of absolutely hating it. your technique was great advise, thanks!! 🙂

Jen T Avatar

I just bought 2 (My Next Indulgence & Up The Ante). I generally like a natural/light colored shadow, and think I will like these as a “wash.” Sounds like I will have to put a little primer on to keep the shadow in place though.

Sally Avatar

Everybody should try a big bounce shadow! I was put off by bad reviews, but after testing out and then buying impeccebly rich and good fortune, I LOVE THESE PRODUCTS! They go on really nicely with a brush and with your finger, they are creamy and buildable with great pigmentation and i found that they lasted all day for me without a eye primer. A lot of people have been saying that the shadow has settled into their crease, but mine stayed perfect all day without needing to add powder. I definitely recommend for people to try this before giving up on the product, because it work beautifully for me!
