Givenchy Candide Tangerine (50) Rouge Interdit Lipstick
($29.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a rich, bright orange with a touch of darkness that keeps it from being a completely neon shade. The finish is satiny with a soft sheen but a creamy texture and nearly full color coverage. Illamasqua’s Temptress is a touch redder, while shades like MAC Neon Orange are closer but a little lighter.
my thoughts on the formula: The Rouge Interdit formula is creamy without being slippery nor clingy. It wears comfortably and holds on for four to six hours, with some of the lighter shades lasting only three to four (but those are in the minority). It has a noticeable floral perfumed scent but no taste. I do find that this formula is moisturizing, too, while still wearing really well.

to me, orange lipstick looks terribly Halloweenish on any skin tone. yuck and PASS! unless it’s for a costume, photoshoot or the runway.

Can you explain what “clingy” means in reference to lipstick?
It sinks into the lines in your lips, hugs them – think of when your face feels tight after a cleanser that strips skin of moisture or clingwrap.

This looks gorgeous on you! I have tons of orangey reds, but have yet to make the jump to a true orange. This might push me over the edge! I love that it isn’t as neon as many I’ve seen.

I’ve never seen an orange lipstick look so good before, and yeah it is darker and less neon. I’m an NC45 and I hope that if I buy this, that it will look just as lovely. Christine, how does this compare to MAC Chili?

This looks so juicy and beautiful. I have Mac’s Neon Orange and although I don’t wear it often, I like it a lot- great summer colour! I’m not sure whether I can justify having both if they’re really close, but I’m really impressed with this one…
All I can say is: wow!
I tried this on and eventually I’ll have to buy it. It’s the best orange lipstick I have ever seen on me; I’m an NC45. Candide Tangerine didn’t make me look like a racist cartoon from yesteryear or like Halloween! LOL
It’s really pricey; in the UK it’s almost £20, but my goodness it’s very pretty for an orange lipstick. I like actually that this color isn’t coral at all, and it doesn’t appear as a red on me either but as a true orange.
It nearly has the finish of a Lustre lipstick from MAC or something as it’s slightly sheer but not too sheer. But again it’s not neon on me at all. To me this particular lipstick from Givenchy this time is worth the higher price as it’s so different in a very good way.
My Mom was lucky, not that long ago she received a dark brown Givenchy lipstick as a gift from a work colleague. She would never spend that amount for it.
But the summer’s gonna have me lookin great if I put this Candide Tangerine on my lips, that’s all I can say!

There’s this gorgeous and wearable orange right here, and then I find myself looking at two or three of Bobbi Brown’s Rich Lip Color ones also! *bite my lip* 🙂

I always miss the limited edition stuff, and I, of course looove this product. Do you know if Givenchy, like MAc for instance, “repromote” their limited edition???? Please say yes. I want to get one, but it’s nowhere…;-((
