Chanel Lover Rouge Allure Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a rich, pink-based red with subtle blue undertones. It’s nearly opaque on lips, and it has a very bold, bright appearance.
Rouge Allures are some of my favorites, because they pack a lot of color in a standout formula: moisturizing, lightweight, and long-wearing. They have a slight rose scent, but I’ve found that the scent is usually subtle though occasionally a tube will have a more concentrated rose scent. (I’m not personally bothered by the scent, but those with more sensitive noses may want to check it out in person.) I get between four to six hours of wear, as Rouge Allures tend to wear longer than average on me.

FINAL THOUGHTS: This is a great red for light to dark skin tones, particularly those with pinker undertones, as the cooler base of Lover will work well with it. Rouge Allures are also good if you have drier lips, more pigmented lip color, or need your lip color to wear longer.

Wow that is beautiful! Which do you prefer? This or Chanel Dragon lipgloss? Also, I know this might seem like a dumb question, but do you own all the makeup that MAC, Chanel, Dior, Guerlain (and other brands that you frequently review) has produced (permanent and limited edition) since you started reviewing their collections and their makeup? Just wondering, cause you have such a AWESOME makeup collection!!

Also, how come you didn’t do a wrap up showing all the lipsticks that you featured for the Sultry Season like you did the other ‘seasons’, or is that coming up??
Because I haven’t finished it, so there is no point in doing a wrap up until it’s finished 🙂

It is beautiful shade of red for someone who does not want to wear a bold and bright red lipstick like the shade in Dragon (which is the most beautiful red shade ever). Ah, I love Chanel lipsticks especially the Rouge Allures.

Yes, I would – hard to give it a single rating as it can vary by shade.
I just got this and I’m stunned. It’s such a flattering shade! It makes my teeth look pearly white and it really brings out the shape of my lips. Love it!
I got this for my birthday, and it turns somewhat purplish on my warm skintone. It’s extremely different from what is on your lips, Christine! But I still dab it on for a very subtle stain. That way it’s still wearable and my lips have a rose-like tinge to it. I would never wear full-on lipstick anyway!
