Chanel does some of the best surface design/embossing in the business. And what says Mme. Coco better than tweed? Tweed will always be perennially, identifiably Chanel. I’d hate to brush it! Sunkiss Ribbon was worthy of a design award.
Ooooh – she wouldn’t like that! It was always “Mlle”!
So true, even though I think of her in her elder years…
She’s evil eying me from the other side. I do the same thing with ma’am…..anybody beyond a certain age is ma’am. Miss to me is demeaning and indicates you were ‘not chosen.’ You can’t call people Ms., except when using their last name. A friend of mine calls everyone ‘doll’ and ‘dear lady.’ That’s waitress talk. I would love to hear her call La Grande Dame ‘doll’ to her face….and she really would. Votre cafe noir, doll!
I will always thank someone who calls me ‘miss’. Even my mother, who’s age might warrant the ma’am moniker, bristles at the term. Moons ago when I worked in retail, I stuck to ‘hello’, ‘thank you’ and, if someone forgot an item, a hearty ‘excuse me’.
What elegant lipstick colors! I’m very excited to try them out. The Rouge Coco Shine lipsticks happen to be my all time favorite.
Just ordered Tweed Coralline. Can’t wait to get it. I’m also interested in Jardins de Lumieres but I think I’ll wait to see your review because I find Chanel’s quads to be hit or miss.
I like the red lipsticks and, as always, I know I’ll want to check out the eyeshadow quads but they are starting to look an awful like like mixes of the ones I already have. How I wish they’d just been smart and re-promoted Empreinte du desert (I know I sound like the proverbial broken record about this)…even with a few changes and a new name but that gold and those 2 neutrals; the green was gorgeous but if they felt the need to make a “change”, they could have swapped that out for a beautiful violet shade. I’ll be curious to see how Tweed Cherry Blossom performs (if you review it). If it’s good, that might be my first Tissage purchase!
Just a heads up, but on Neiman’s website Empreinte du Desert is showing up as still in stock!
All of this looks so lovely… (Except the nail polishes, not really my colors).. I am resisting especially the highlighter, the coral coco lip shine, the blushes and the eyeshadow quads. *sigh*
Énergies et Pureté is this year’s Asian Le Blanc collection and has been out for awhile now. Anyone interested in seeing swatches and reading reviews before purchasing from Chanel.com can google it.
I forgot to say it’s because of those lovely blogging ladies who have already featured this collection that I bought the Plissé Lumière highlighter and the eyeshadow quad in Jardins Éclatants. 🙂
Oooh, I like the Tweed Coralline! The red one might swatch really pretty, but yesterday I got a rather gross thought about it put into my head on another site, so now all I see is ground hamburger meat?
On the positive side, I’m hoping that one of the eyeshadow quads delivers the same high quality and ease of use as last year’s STUNNER; Empriente du Desert! Might still try and hunt down this winter’s gorgeous golden one, though, if not.
Uh oh, just when I was doing pretty well at being happy with what’s already in my stash … here come new Chanel eye quads and a fuchsia Coco shine. These might be irresistible.
Apparently there are 6 shades of Les Tissages blush in Europe. I wonder why Chanel is only bringing 2 to the US.
Yes and they are all gorgeous; I would love to try Tweed Pink and Tweed Pink Paradise. Hopefully Chanel will bring the six shades to North America…
The blushes and the eye quads caught my eye!!
I like the look of thsee, I think!
I love everything that is coming out from CHANEL these days. Since I couldn’t find anything from Tom Ford this season, CHANEL will be getting those dollars instead.
It looks so pretty but so far from the swatches I’ve seen I am not really that impressed except for Tweed Coralline Coral it is a very pretty shade of coral. I thought I would love the highlighter but seeing the swatch it looked very pasty looking maybe on the face it might look much nicer.
What a lovely collection. I want all of it, and that rarely happens. I’ll wait for reviews and swatches though.
These look lovely – especially the olive, plum and grey quad. Beautiful shades.
Loving all the shades actually. The olive looks a little cooler than normal olive colors so it might work.
Oh boy, this is gonna be a big one! Really beautiful. Can’t wait to see you in this collection, Christine. You will be so beautiful!
I’ve ordered the Tweed Cherry Blossom. After seeing some swatches, I think it will look better on my fair/light skin than Coralline, due to the cool undertones. Did I need another blush? No. In my case, need or reason do not come into play when it comes to Chanel, therefore my order was purely based on my fascination with Mademoiselle and her famous tweed :).
However, I’m hesitant about ordering the eyeshadow quad in Jardins Éclatants, as I’m wondering if the two top shades (the light ones) will show up on my eyes.
Oh thank goodness – I don’t feel overly compelled to buy any of these products — yet!!
This collection has been released internationally and the highlighter has been the big seller however I heard it may not be in US stores until May. News of 6 tweed blushes surfaced recently for sale in Asia and I, too would like to see swatches of the range.
I’m more curious about Chanel’s summer collection, so not sure if I’ll pick up a lip product or something from an earlier release, like the gold quad. We’re about to go into a semi-annual Goodwill Sale at The Boston Store 15-20% off cosmetics so would like to buy something new from Chanel though it may be a lip product. Look forward to your reviews, Christine.
