Chanel Coco Codes Collection for Spring 2017

Black, white, beige, gold and red — five shades iconic to Gabrielle Chanel take new life in a daring makeup collection. Infusing unexpected textures and bold effects, Chanel Global Creative Makeup and Colour Designer Lucia Pica revives these classic colours, while defying conventional notions of beauty. “I want to reverse beauty expectations and have women challenge themselves,” Pica says. Rouge-noir gives lips Spring attitude. White and beige are reimagined for nails. Red becomes bolder and more audacious than ever.

This is the first Chanel collection, for the last six years, that without a doubt, I will not be buying a single product from. LOL. This is so uninspiring, it really looks like four random “chic” colour samples put together at the last minute. Chanel could not even be bothered to hire a model and Miss Lucia Pica, I totally understand you love the colour red, but you have been using it as the central theme for the past four out of five campaigns, lets pick another hue….Please?

Monique Avatar

Hey Kristina, I think you need to do some more research! The first Lucia’s Pica collection for Chanel was the 2016 Autumn Winter so it wasn’t her fourth or fifth collection with the colour red as a main theme.
I do believe that this Spring Collection is one of the best colour selection in many years, it’s simple and elegant, don’t you think?

Love the Les 4 Ombres Quad in Code Subtils and the Rouge Allure Velvet Lipstick in Libre, but will wait for reviews to see how they perform. I realize Chanel is leaning a little edgy with Lucia Pica, but, this reminds me more of a fall or winter collection. I do love a great red and Chanel does them beautifully, but I was hoping for something a little more fru-fru and whimsical for spring. Just me, though. Can’t wait for swatches and reviews.

I really love Chanel and usually purchase several products from each collection. At first glance I can’t say that I find this very inspiring. I will have to see how things swatch and go from there. I do love a great red lipstick and the Chanel formula is one that I like so maybe a red lippie. I wish Chanel would break out of their comfort zone and give us something really inspiring. I want to buy so just give me something I can feel good about buying!!

This says “winter” to me. Or France in the early, bleak half of the 1940’s. Possibly very apropos, considering. Could be a dimmer, smokier, less cheery eye this spring. Although that dash of gold symbolizes hope.
As for the blush, I’ll just wait and see how well it reviews. But I do like its color combo to swirl together. We’ll see.

Hey christine… i went to nordstrom and saks online but i don’t see anything from the coco code collection there? i know its on the chanel.com website…

I’m interested in the gold coco shine and the blush of course!

Codes Subtil looks an awful lot like Tisse d’Automne, with one lighter color. That said, I loved Tisse d’Automne and hit pan on two colors, so I would consider!

Ohh Sh!zzle! I was hoping I wouldn’t want anything but both the velvet lipsticks the gold glossy lippie, and the eye pencils might have to be bought :-// well about time Chanel! Ohh also the camellia highlight is back this Christmas!! Argh!! Bye money!! XxX

Elizabeth Avatar

Hey! Please let me know where to find the Camelia de Plumes as I was so sad to have missed it the first time around. Now, THAT makes me excited :).

I called the Chanel boutique in the UK today to see if they had a date (you can’t buy off the chanel website in the uk) and the release has been pushed to January to should be available at boutiques about a week before everywhere else around the start or mid January. This is uk info though so US might get it before then, same time or after? I never know with these brands and their strange release schedules?

Elizabeth Avatar

Thank you! Fingers crossed it will re-release in the US as well. I will have to put away a bit of Christmas money so I can treat myself. Thanks again and happy highlighting. xo

Just my opinion but, I’m really disappointed in looking at these images! I did not like their “holiday collection”. Did they change the formula of the rouge allure gloss? The shade super nude was very uncomfortable to wear, extremely sticky. Looking at the Chanel website, in my opinion, it looks like they took a lot of left over products and put them together as “exclusives”. I am definitely a chanelphile but this is making me……sigh!!

Wow, I’m actually really surprised by the general consensus about this collection. I’ve been a Chanel fan for years, but I haven’t purchased anything apart from a few Id’Os for maybe six seasons. The collections have been boring to me, and now this past Lucia Pica collection with the incredible red shades, and this one…holy schmoly, I’m instantly captivated. The blush palette is perfection to me. It’s a little bit mod in the styling, but also French classic, like Audrey Hepburn in How to Steal a Million. Maybe Lucia Pica is aiming for a different demographic, but if that’s the case, I think I’m in that category!

Bonnie Avatar

I totally agree that this collection looks more holiday. Not spring!
I’m so sad Chanel didn’t come out with a must-have polish. To me the colors are boring and I’m someone who gravitates more toward classic colors versus trendy. And I’m so OVER top coats that morph the color underneath.

Codes Subtils eyeshadow quad is a maybe. La Secrete lipstick is an interesting color but I could see it going so wrong in the Vevet Matte formula. Not spending a penny until I see the reviews.

Looking forward to seeing the blush and quads in person. I held off buying the Rouge Profound blush when I saw the red-pink quadrant in this Blush Harmony (even if the layout is a bit boring).

I’ll admit to being mixed up about the Spring releases. I saw one called Coco Codes that had the Candeur et Experience quad and Tisse Smoky with the Coco Codes blush, and another that had the Candeur and Smoky quads and the tweed inspired quads that Christine described above. I saw second Spring collection called Chanel le Blanc that included 2 stunning tweed blush duos and 2 new quads.

I’m excited for Chanel’s 2017 releases.

Cathy Avatar

Hmmm. Not feeling this collection, really. I don’t see much of anything that’s new or interesting here. The blush is basically last year’s spring blush – which was also named Blush Harmony – in a different pattern. The Beige Beige nail colour and the Codes Subtils shadow palette might be worth a look, but more red and orange lipsticks? That’s just a redux of what Chanel already had so much of.

Alicia Avatar

The only item that interests me here is the nude Le Vernis color. I was so disappointed that they discontinued Secret – it was my go-to nude polish. Maybe this new color (Beige Beige) is a dupe.

Erin Avatar

I’m interested in seeing the blushes and shadows swatched. Depending on the color of the perm blush, I might get that. The lips sound interesting, but I’ll reserve judgment until they are swatched. I’m glad it’s not typical spring colors but I was looking to add some typical spring colors to my collection and was looking towards Chanel for their normally very girly spring collections. Double edged sword I think.

I am lemming-ing Harmonie blush, Code elegants & La Secrete lipstick (Macy’s was out of Subtil & Libre). My dad went to the mall today & was gonna pick me up a pick-me-up…….I was that close to buying the Noir moderne lipstick I was told over the telephone it was black cherry not transparent black & it doesn’t look black on the model but I’ll pair Coco Shine in Bonheur w it that is it for me I’m mild not wild lol I didn’t think the customer base chanel caters to would buy transparent black lipstick. They only had 1 left. I went for a more safe route woulda liked to get that e/s & Libré lipstick will have to maybe order online. I don’t really need it but I “want” it lol ?
