Chanel Holiday 2010: Tweed Fuchsia

Chanel Tweed Fuchsia Tissages de Chanel ($45.00 for 0.19 oz.) is a cotton candy pink with slight blue undertones. It has golden shimmer patterned on the top of the blush, but underneath, it’s much subtler and interlaced with the blush itself. It’s almost like micro-glitter rather than regular shimmer, but a lot of it seems to disappear or get eaten up by the brush, so the effect isn’t like a disco ball. (And again, much of the glittery bits are overspray and will be gone after a use or two.)

Tweed Fuchsia, like several of the other Tweed varieties, does feel like it has a little more shimmer than the Joue Contrastes, which have a glowier kind of look when worn. The blue undertone of this pink isn’t too strong, though it gets stronger the heavier the color is used. When I wore it on my cheeks, it almost looked neutral! It also layered well, so you could build up the color for a more intense cheek or keep it soft for an everyday look.

It’s a pretty pink, but it’s a shade I’ve definitely seen before–if you have Pink Explosion from fall, you might find this quite easy to pass by.

  • Product: 28/30
  • Value: 8/10
  • Ease of Use: 4/5
  • Packaging: 4/5

RECOMMENDATION: This is a flattering shade of pink on both cool and warm skin tones, because it doesn’t lean too blue.  It’s also buildable, which makes it more versatile as you can pair it with heavier, smokier or barely-there looks.  However, you may want to check your stash to see if you have something similar.

Did you not try out the blush under the light pink overspray on top? Underneath is a much darker fushcia that I think will swatch quite differently and not too similar to Pink Explosion.

Love this! I may have to get it since I don’t have any true pink blush. Btw…have you seen Guerlain’s new foundation Lingerie de Peau? If not I thi k you will love it!

this is sooo pretty! I love these blue pink colours. I love your reviews too, they really are spot on about the joues contraste being ‘glowy’ when applied

I love this blush! My skin is on the lighter end of medium, but it’s very, very warm, so I have a lot of trouble wearing pink blush. But this works perfectly on me!

When I first saw this, I thought it was going to be over the top and that I’d never be able to get away with such a bright pink. So, it was with reluctance that I let my favorite Chanel MA apply it to my cheeks with a fan brush. As she was applying the rest of my make-up, people kept commenting on the beautiful blush and asking what it was called. Finally, I asked to see a mirror and was completely taken aback by how utterly natural and pretty it was. Sold! It gave my complexion a lovely soft flush of color. With my coloring, I actually like it better than Pink Explosion. So, i’d say that if it’s the brightness in the pan that’s giving you pause, be brave and give it a try. You can see how beautiful it is on Christine.

That is one of the most beautiful blushes I have ever seen! I don’t know what it is with me and rosy pink blushes.. I’m also digging the gold shimmer and pretty pattern Chanel has added to this one. I just wish it wasn’t so expensive 🙁 any blush over $20 is too expensive for me. However, it looks great on you 🙂

I love this blush, but then again, I am obsessed with Pink Explosion – both are surprisingly wearable for those with very warm-toned skin like myself. If I hadn’t just bought a back-up of Pink Explosion, I would get this one as well – thanks for your comments comparing the two, Christine! You saved me some money. 🙂

Maybe it’s the testers in the stores but I couldn’t get the color to show on my skin and I’m an NC15! It’s so pretty I’m going to have to give it another try even though I do have Well-Dressed. 🙂

I like the shimmer in this, and this post has perfect timing because with winter coming I am gonna stop using my bronzey blushes and was looking for a new pink blush, specifically towards well dressed and pink swoon! I still consider this a splurge, but this looks so pretty I have to check it out!

How would this compare to either MAC’s Azalea Blossom or Guerlain’s Cherry Blossom? Those are the only two blushes I own that seem more pink than coral. I really LOVE this blush and if its a nice pink, I may splurge…..

Isn’t this just the most beautiful product you can imagine?
Love the gold flecks in the pink, but the price is just too steep.
However, I think this is amazingly beautiful.

Is the whole collection officially out now? It’s on Saks’ website but they don’t have Tweed Fuschia which is what caught my eye about the collection. 🙁 Am I out of luck?

I was wondering about getting this when it is released in the UK, this will definitely be added to my collection!
Have you tried Tweed Pink? I was thinking about purchasing it too, but I’m about an NC30-35 skin, I’m afraid it will be too light and make me look ashy, I’d really like to know your opinion on this?
