Chanel Holiday 2010: Pink Pulsion

Chanel Pink Pulsion Glossimer ($27.00 for 0.19 fl. oz.) is a brightened fuchsia pink with medium pink shimmer. It’s semi-sheer on my lips; it gives them a nice dose of pink and glossiness with subtle shimmer that sparkles like glinting water. It’s a new and limited shade from their holiday collection, which is complemented by two other shades (to be reviewed). Glossimers are not quite perfectly non-sticky, but they don’t have much tackiness to them. They’re lightweight, on the sheerer side, and wear three to four hours on me. In order to get the full effect of a Glossimer, though, you have to see it dance in the sunlight!

  • Product: 29/30
  • Value: 8/10
  • Ease of Use: 4/5
  • Packaging: 4/5

RECOMMENDATION: It’s not the most original or showstopping color, but I like it a lot.  I see this as a shade I’d really like best and use most often over lipsticks to give an extra dazzle and glossiness.  I think if you’re looking for only the most original shades, you could skip this, but if you like your glossimers with a little more color, Pink Pulsion might be worth looking into.

it looks gorgeous in the tube, but it’s surprisingly sheer. for some odd reason i don’t remember the fall release glossimers to be quite this sheer? :O

It looks so juicy on the lips … perfect over those lipsticks that are on the dry side. The colour is just so pretty in the tube that’s I’d probably carry this one in my purse so I could peek at it all day long! 😉

It’s not sheer on me at all like k had expected and it’s not as hot pink like I thought it would be. I really liked this one! If you think this is sheer try Pleasing.

That’s really pretty. When I bought Glossimer in Pleasing the MUA told me she didn’t recommend the other two in the holiday collection because they were too much like ones in the regular collection. I’m new to Chanel though so I’m not sure which one she thinks was a dupe of this. I like this though.

I love Pink Pulsion over Rouge Coco in Magnolia. It gives Magnolia a depth and a subtle fire that is sultry and glamorous. Chanel’s glosses always look so much more beautiful in person when you can see how they reflect and play with the light. I love your image of the colors dancing in the sunlight. That’s a perfect description.

I like the look of this. It’s adorable, and I think it’s a versatile colour. Something like this, you can keep in your purse for any occasion!

that annoys me. it looks fantastic in the tube, it even looks fantastic when you thickly swatch it on your skin but it turns out so nothing on the lips.

why cant they have just pumped up the pigment, make the gloss itself more pink and chuck in another teaspoon of glitter? =(

this chanel gloss = fail.

damn..

i think this color looks gorgeous on you. i’m really loving all your face photo shots. great! i know a lot of people think this color is too sheer but i think it was made to be layered over the two lipsticks released in the same collection. i really like it over magnolia l/s.

I have no problem with sheerer shades myself – just as long that’s what they’re supposed to be! Glossimers seem to be a general range that goes sheer to semi-sheer, with the occasional one that’s more opaque, so I didn’t expect this to be opaque.

It is lovely over lipsticks for sure!
