Pretty in Pink with Chanel

Chanel Confidentielle Rouge Allure Lipstick ($30.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a petal pink with a frost finish.  It has very subtle micro-shimmer of gold and pink with a frost-gloss sheen.  It’s nearly opaque, and it wears well, being part of the Rouge Allure family.  It’s a new shade introduced alongside the new Extrait de Gloss line-up.  It has a nice yellow undertone, making it a warmer pink, and more suitable for warmer complexions.  It doesn’t lean too yellow, though, and will help brighten cooler complexions as well.

Rouge Allures have a slight rose scent, but I’ve found that the scent is usually subtle though occasionally a tube will have a more concentrated rose scent.  (I’m not personally bothered by the scent, but those with more sensitive noses may want to check it out in person.)  I wore this shade alone for five hours and a coffee, so it holds up with the rest of the Rouge Allure family in respect to wear.

I really thought I was going to find a plethora of dupes for this one, but warmer pinks are certainly a shade range that could use more options.  I figured to find at least a few in the Spring Season, but nothing matched quite right to me.  Between the medium-pink color and the yellow undertone, it was difficult to dupe.

i love this! i personally prefer the rouge allures to the rouge cocos, the ones that came out with the Popup collection were nice and so is this one!

The color reminds me of Way to Love by MAC, which is one of my absolute faves but also LE. The finish is different, but the color is very similar. I might have to look into this color. I love the Chanel lippies I have so far!

Hi Christine! I’m a daily lurker and LOVE your site! Thanks for ALL you do!

This review has me a little confused. The title says “Rouge Coco”, but the body says “Rouge Allure”. These are different, right?

Also, your review seemed pretty glowing so I was really considering getting this color, but then I saw your score of 24/30 for the product and I’m reconsidering. Is there anything you didn’t like that you didn’t mention?

Thanks! 🙂

I bought this color a few days ago and the Chanel Holiday sets..and I love them! I really love the color of this lipstick….I am darker then you and the lipstick looks really good…

Sheesh, no one’s forcing you to look. You should be grateful that she takes such high-quality pictures so we can really see what products look like. Chances are, the hair is just that peach fuzz stuff most women have on their faces, but refuse to admit (I have it, and no one cares). If hers is so gross, let’s see your flawless lip swatches then.

I can’t believe anyone could be that rude!! My gosh if you don’t like it then don’t come here and post!! You should be greatful that you have a place to see all of these beautiful swatches, Christine works so hard for us so we can see all of these cool make-up goodies, you should be thanking her not being soo rude to her!!

Christine, i was confused if it is Rouge Coco or Rouge Allure, aren’t those different? The title says Coco but the description paragraph says Allure. anyway, it’s soo pretty! I need a warm pink too ! 🙂

I purchased this a couple days ago lol! I love warm shades since I am more warm-toned but I still like cool pinks. Rose Dentelle pulls very cool on me so this one is perfect! It’s my favorite pink lipstick right now! =D

That is a pretty pink indeed… just might have to get this when it comes out here!

(I have those teeny tiny little downy bits too, I think everyone does and no, no one notices or cares… except if you put yourself out there, like you so bravely and beautifully do, someone takes a slap at ya for no reason. Pah! Stay strong (and beautiful!), Christine 😉

I know what you mean. It’s hard to find a warm or yellow-based pink lipstick! I’m neutral to slightly warm.

Although I can wear cool colours on my eyes easily – it’s a different story on my lips. Overtly Cool Pinks (Snob, Saint Germain, Lady Gaga) look bizarre on me (I really wished MAC Saint Germain would work on me because it is so pretty!).

Very pretty pink color. I hope you could also do a swatch on rouge allure in insolente. I’m planning to get that one but i really couldn’t see swatches. Thanks.

Hi Christine – Great post!
I love rouge allures (not so much coco rouges) and was wondering how this compares to Darling rouge allure?

thanks!

This looks SO gorgeous! This might be my first Chanel purchase…I can’t wait to check this out in person :D. I was looking through my stash and my only other warm pink is Maybelline’s Warm Me Up. They look similar (except for the frost finish of course) when I’m comparing your swatch of this and the Maybelline one. How similar are they color-wise and how does Chanel’s formula differ? I’ve only bought MAC or drugstore lipsticks so I just wanna make sure it’s worth my extra $$. Thanks Christine!

Oh.. And PS:
Your photos are gorgeous. As always. I just love the close-ups, and how much time and effort you put into this blog, Christine.
I read about 4 blogs on a regular basis, but yours is the only one I pop into a couple times a day.

I love being able to say that I am a Temptalia girl! 🙂

I don’t know if it’s cause you look amazing with this lipstick or if it’s cause it’s a lovely pinky shade that is suitable with my skin tone, but I NEED TO BUY THIS ONE…..!!!

Shannon Avatar

oh sweet i’m really glad this isn’t LE because I WANT THIS. it’s so hard to find a pink that works on warmer skintones and doesn’t pull fuscia on me. yay! 😀

Liz Avatar

I am about to buy this online (and probably the gloss!), and that blush looks so perfectly paired with it on you! Could you share what it is? Thanks, Christine!!

RA Confidentielle is my 2nd favorite after my RC Magnolia. The color is warm and yet stunning because it has a little shimmer. I opt for Confidentielle when i want to wear pink lips but still keep my look very business-like and professional.
