We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Mine is definitely “it will photograph duller than it appears IRL!” Also applies to theater makeup, but that’s a no-duh.
Whenever I’ve done more avant garde, more adventurous looks, I first pick the shades I feel will give me the effect I’m seeking, then do a color map out of my face. Especially the eye makeup end, as that is bound to get fairly complex and precise. Then, exactly as you nailed it on the head above, Christine, I go in with a patient mindset. I know it may not wind up the way I’d love if I hurry it along impatiently and hurriedly. Take your time and enjoy the fruits of your labor!
Respect the craft! Don’t assume you’ll get something right the first time–application is a skill, and it’s wise to do a test run (whether a really great smoky eye or rotting flesh special effects). 🙂
Life lessons right there. Work, personal, make up. 🙂
Take the time to do it right, not to rush through the process and get frustrated.
1. Patience – it’s the key to getting the result you want and see in your head.
2. That it doesn’t always have to be super precise – it’s completely fine if it isn’t.
How to conceal tattoos or birthmarks or anything that’s highly pigmented by applying several thin layers of concealer, each set with a little bit of finely-milled powder. The result is more natural-looking and more flexible than one thick layer.
Yes! Plan ahead with makeup, jewelry, dress, shoes! I have it all sorted out before a party or especial event. Hair, accessories and whatever happens relax and enjoy. I would like to add exercise. Always exercise especially in the sun it makes you look great, gain a nice healthy color and relaxes the big machine that never stops our minds. Always exercise.
I would say using a stipple brush for highly pigmented creams. When I learned this, it was pretty MAC days and the application would be with little black “sponges” from a costume shop but the process is the same, now, just with nice brushes. Less REALLY is more when you use proper tools. Who knew learning how to do zombie makeup could help me with dark circles later in life.
Keep it organic whether it be winging out your liner, filling in your brows, or stippling on your bruise. Also, it’s the small details that not many are bound to notice that will make your look pop.
Patience and precision is the key.
