Sneak Peek: The Estee Edit Gritty & Glow Palettes Photos & Swatches
The Estee Edit Gritty & Glow Palettes
The Estee Edit Gritty & Glow Palette ($58.00 for 1.62 oz.) includes two palettes, one for eyes and one for face. I happened to see this pop online a few days ago, and the eyeshadow palette reminded me a lot of the Estee Lauder x Victoria Beckham Eye Palette, so I had to pick it up to see whether that was true (not so much). Here are swatches!
Those swatches, though!!!
These swatches are really impressive again! I don’t mind the fact that there are no mattes. Pair it with a Naked Basics palette (or similar) and the posibilities are endless.
How does the Gritty palette compare to the VB palette in terms of quality? I look forward to the reviews!
That was my question exactly! Look forward to comparisons with pieces of the VB collection (palette and metal shadows).
Oh my goodness, that eye shadow palette totally reminds you of the Victoria Beckham one! Very similar color combo, at least in the pan. Curious why it’s called a “gritty” shadow kit, doesn’t sound like a good choice of words, I’m wincing at the thought of scratched corneas. Even the name “gritty and glow palette” reminds me of the grungy, “sooty”, “sweaty skin” look of the Beckham collection. And that Gleam highlighter looks like a pinker version of Modern Mercury. Verrrry interesting…..
I was thinking the same, gritty is kind of an unfortunate word for eyeshadows, or any makeup. I’m glad I’m not alone reacting to it. I do get where they come from, though.
That reminds me soooo much of the Victoria Beckham Eye Palette.
At a much more do-able price
I put this in my cart the other day but wanted to see whether you were going to review it first. Oh my gosh, you’re swatches though! I liked the fact that the shades were separated. I think this may be one I’ll plan on getting. Thanks for getting these swatches up so soon after it released!
“Gritty” is definitely an interesting name for an eyeshadow palette, haha. Doesn’t drum up the most amazing visuals in my mind. Glad the swatches look promising!
oh gosh that “1st Light” highlighter is so pretty!
I saw this on Sephora the other day and was interested by it, almost bought it but I’ve heard some mixed things about the EE products so I held off. I might buy it now especially with ebates being 8% on Sephora today 😀
Those highlighters are intense! At first I thought they were eyeshadows… I actually think I’d like them better as eyeshadows!
The swatches from Gritty sure look great. Once again, though, not my colors 🙁 But so pretty!
Noticed this, too. Very affordable and the amounts are small…double edged sword. Fall in love, and you might be ool with getting replacement singles. But for those who never finish things….great. Quality seems good; have not been overly impressed with the edit thus far. This is a massively good idea, due to the popularity, sourcing and price issues with VB. Brilliant, EL. And nice step towards shedding the stodgy image, which was clearly the idea behind the edit (and the Jennerism). Marieke is spot on, and who doesn’t have an NB or similar, just for this purpose? And yes, gritty is an odd choice of name…the connotations are painful. My only other association to ‘gritty’ is vaguely disturbing tv docs and crime stories. Personally, might have preferred ‘edgy.’ Is edgy already taken? IDK what the acronym FDSA means. This would be a great way to build an instant warm highlighter/highlit blush wardrobe.
“Burn” looks amazing…looking forward to seeing what if any dupes there are for that.
Burn does look beautiful. Definitely my kind of brown and shimmer; sadly the rest is a pass for me.
Excuse me while I pick up my jaw from the floor; this indeed does look hella lot like its more expensive older sister! This is my kind of deep, dark moody palette. I need it. The shades seem to have some real complexity to them as well. ?
VICTORIA BECKHAM?
Oh geez, talk about compete against yourself Estee Lauder 🙂
Looks like the popularity of the VB collection had them pump out a quick dupe for just over a third of the cost of the original.
Very very beautiful colours. Do you know a shop which sells it and ships international besides sephora Christine?
Sorry, I don’t!
I’d buy this for just the highlight palette alone! Such a good value – and such a good array of highlights!
Interesting – I really hate that they are only selling these as a set, though! I would never use the eye palette but I love the face palette 🙁 I am curious though – if they are the same size (eye vs. face), can face brushes fit in the pans?
This looks so similar to the Victoria Beckham palette which I didn’t purchase.
Would love to see the ingredients. I swatched it in store and it felt nice but the way the package was, I couldn’t see all the ingredients. Thank you!
Wow those shadows look nice.
Impressive! Can’t wait for the review!
I wonder why Estee Lauder released a palette do similar to Victoria B. one…
Actually think I prefer both oh these. Very pretty.
Very, very pretty…….
Yes, quite similar to the EL x VB palette in terms of shades, except that the light and medium beige are replaced by copper and pink, so I don’t like the overall color combo as much. It will be interesting to see how the formula compares in your future review!
The pigmentation looks amazing 😉 I’m in love with the colour!
Omg just when I had told myself to stop buying for the remainder of the year. This is gonna have to come with me too it’s too pretty and I think it’s a good deal too.
Christine, pls tell me if this a very good dupe for Tom Ford last dance palette?
I got the VBxEL palette but that blue though!
Oooh, the face palette seems nice thoug.
Wow, this looks really beautiful. I agree with everyone else that this looks a lot like the Victoria Beckham palette.
I don’t see it available at Sephora!!!
I like the look of both eyeshadows and highlighters, I’d use some of the highlighters as eyeshadows, though. I’m not sure we get the Estee Edit range here, and if we do all Lauder products do cost a lot. That said, the eyeshadows look amazing and I love Wavy and Trip.
To call it Gritty, though 🙂
Christine can you compare this one to the Victoria Beckham one?
Ya know I’m not a fan of the design of it. That completely throws me off but the quality is sublime.
Some pretty colors. I think some of the highlight colors could be used as shadows too. As another poster said, if combined with a matte palette, the possibilities are endless!
Do you have a picture of the highlighter palette? All I can see is the one palette and the number of swatches is double.
Nevermind I googled it
The highlighters are the last 6 images in the post – Snowlit, 14K Glow, etc. I see them in the post!
Sorry I was looking for a pic of the palette so that I could identify it in a store etc.- there’s a pic of one palette and you mention that there are 2. I can see all of the swatches. I found it on google though, no problem. 🙂
