Holiday 2016
Tarte Tarteist Toolbox Brush Set

With so many new pieces launching across brands, instead of bombarding you with brand-specific posts, I thought I’d group today’s recently launched products by type; most of what I’ve seen launch today is available via Sephora but may eventually release to other retailers later on.

Also, all of the holiday launches that were exclusive to Sephora VIB Rouges are now available for everyone. 🙂

I gotta be honest (and this is someone who just spent $245 on a 6 piece brush set) and just say that I think MJ is barking up the wrong tree with that brush set for $135. His permanent line is SO gorgeous and luxe, and the brand image didn’t seem to translate very well. Also, I am going to guess that these are synthetic like his permanent collection. (I may be wrong, the tapered blender looks like it could be black goat!) I hope they work well for whoever purchases them, but they just give off that “BH cosmetics 5 pack” vibe. Not that I dislike BH! (In fact, I love them — just not for $135.)

$245 for six brushes…sounds like you got the Chikuhodo set also! 😀
I agree that the Marc brushes don’t look very interesting in the promo image- curious to see live pictures. The case looks like it could be cool though – I find it so hard to find really pretty brush cases. I think the ones that come with the Chikuhodo sets are really practical and functional (especially this latest one), but they aren’t emerald-green-with-tassle beautiful, imho. YMMV!!

You know I did, girl!

I’m willing to be wowed by live photos, or even seeing them in person. I do appreciate how the case is a nod to his Decadence fragrance. (am I the only one who sees that?) I have trouble finding cute cases myself, so I just decided to buy a couple inexpensive brush belts from BH. they do the job well enough, but you KNOW my Chikuhodo set is staying in it’s pretty little wrap!

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing! Or maybe they feel better in person, waiting for reviews…Last year I got a great deal on MJ’s website, 3 full size face brushes for $100 or something and I hope they will do it again this year.

I like the efficiency of double ends, but hate to have to lay brushes flat. No go for me. Maybe I’ll forego the holiday makeup and brush mania, and fill in the holes with Waynes and zoevas. Feeling kind of overwhelmed. All I really want is the bite and maybe the Viseart. Course, I fall hauled so majorly that I ought to be issued a cease and desist order.
