I stumbled across these in Sephora @ JC Penney over the weekend, they weren’t even on display yet, but I quickly swatched 5 shades on my hands, and 4 were pigmented and opaque. Kind of like the Armani eye tints, but on steroids, super metallic and sparkly, think will be kind of OTT all over the lids. I thought they had foam applicators, but the pic is showing a brush, which would be great, since I’m hoping they will make better eye liners than those sad, watery UD Razor Sharp ones, which are the same price. I’m eyeing the green (Zodiac) and brown (Spacetime)

Yeah, I’m a bit worried about the applicator. It’s easy enough to swatch on back of my hands, but wearing on the eye is a different story. From the pictures, the brush doesn’t look fine enough for a fine line, but it doesn’t look wide enough for an easy all- over- lid application either. I guess if I like the color enough, I can use my own brushes or fingers, but we’ll see. Hopefully, Christine can help us shed some light on these……

Both. They were super metallic, very shimmery with glitter, but the glitter was mixed with the liquid, the glitter wasn’t falling loose, at least not on my hands, but I couldn’t test on my eyes. I sure hope these don’t crease, because that would look really messy and obvious.

Bingo.. wish the razor sharps were better performers. I just have the one at this point, Fireball. It works, but futzy and I do have to apply in layers; dry down, apply again . Want Dark Force after seeing the recent post. Find it easy to apply with these fine brushes. I like a thin line of sparkle not so much an OTT all over the lid thang. They talk maximizing lid space with hooded eyes, but I’m not buying into it. The OTT highlight looks like I’m trying way too hard not to mention transfer issues. The fine line of sparkle gives just the right brightness and draws attention to the colour of the eyes. That’s good enough for me. If these Moondust thingees work out with their brush, they could be very interesting. Yup.

I like the thin line of sparkle too for the same reason. It will be interesting to see the review, and if you can do a thin line with this applicator. You can’t always tell from a promo pic. I’d be surprised of they would advertise these as e/s vs liner if it was a thin tip.

I have Magnetic on its way. I ordered it as soon as it was released. If Sephora ships today, I’ll have it tomorrow. If not, I’ll have it Thursday. My swatch will be posted the day after I receive it. I figured I’d try one to see how it worked out. If I like it, then I plan on getting Zodiac, Chem Trail, and Spacetime. The other shades aren’t great for me.

Ooooh, awesome! I’ll look for your swatches. I check your instagram account regularly to see what you got, and it’s usually some good stuff there!

Katherine, swatches of Magnetic are now posted. I swatched as a single “stripe” without adding additional product as well as a “block” by applying product with several passes (since this is how it would need to be applied as eyeshadow). I didn’t use any primer for the swatches and I felt overall it performed pretty well. To get enough coverage for eyeshadow, we will need to go over the area with a couple of passes I think; although it may do better with primer. There was no fallout when I wore it swatched and even on removal the glitter was super fine and not an issue. I plan on wearing it tomorrow (over primer) but as of now I’m thinking I will most likely be picking up the other 3 shades I was looking at within the next week or so. I’ll report back on wear as soon as I can.

Thanks for the swatches Michele!! Well, they certainly look better than those watery Razor Sharp eyeliners. I wasn’t planning to wear as eye shadow, just as eyeliner, and the single swatch looks reasonably opaque enough, and no fallout is great. If these are decent, will also pick up a couple of shades myself, will definitely add some sparkle to the eye. Thanks again!

Katherine, Ok, so I ended up wearing Magnetic only as an eyeshadow. I used it over the MAC primer and not a glitter primer. On application and during wear there was no fall-out. It is a bit tricky to use as eyeshadow since there’s a brush applicator. Actually, first swipe was pretty much an eyeliner line! To use as eyeshadow, I had to go over my lid multiple times and then I actually needed to blend it together/out. I used a synthetic brush for blending and it was no issue. As an eyeshadow, it’s actually buildable – meaning that you can blend it down to pretty close to sheer or have full on opaque. I went with something kind of in the middle. The effect was quite pretty. As a comparison, I feel that this formula is easier to apply than the razor sharp liner although it isn’t as intense. It also creates a somewhat wider line than the very fine line the razor sharp creates. I feel they both have their place. I just ordered two more of the liquid shadows: Zodiac and Chem Trail. I’ll have them tomorrow afternoon and will post swatches soon after.

Thanks for your thoughts on Magnetic! Yeah, I was kind of worried about the brush design, seems like it would be tricky applying as shadow, but glad to hear there was no fallout. I have small eyes, so prefer a finer line for eyeliner, but it might work. Think I will need to re-swatch in store to decide. Hope you are having a great road trip!

Over the MAC primer (I opted not to use a glitter primer so I could test for fall-out), Magnetic held up between 6-7 hours before starting to fade on my oily lids. That being said, I did go for coverage in between sheer and fully opaque (the product is buildable – see my comments with Katherine above) so perhaps if I had made my look more opaque, it would have lasted longer. Also, using a glitter primer may have made a difference. That being said, depending on the impact you’re looking for, this may not be what you want. The liquid eyeshadow (at least this one) does not have the same intensity as the powder ones. I did just order 2 additional shades, Chem Trail and Zodiac, so I’ll be seeing how those do in the next few days.

I cannot do sparkly or metallic on my lids, it never looks right, but I like these finishes as liners. If the applicators are brushes and these review well, I’m going to check out Recharged, Zap, Spacetime and possibly Chem Trail a/o Solstice.
