Urban Decay's Book of Shadows for Holiday 2008 Makes Giving Easy

Urban Decay’s Holiday 2008 assortment offers this delectable eyeshadow palette called the Book of Shadows ($45.00). Personally, I think it’s really the star product of what’s available (or coming soon) for their holiday offerings, despite there being a bejeweled “Poison Ring” ($50.00). It offers an adorable pop up of flowers and eyeshadows, which is cute, though not something that really makes or breaks the palette. When the lid is popped up, there is a small mirror available, so for those in a pinch, you could use it to apply the contents found inside.

What I like about this palette is they don’t sacrifice eyeshadow quality. Each eyeshadow is pigmented, smooth, and there is such a great variety of colors within it. There are dozens of amazing eyeshadow combinations to be found and created! Oh, and did you see the price tag? You get sixteen eyeshadows for that price (oh, and two palette brushes and a trial size of UDPP). Cooler yet is it includes several never-before-seen colors from Urban Decay, which are exclusive to this palette, making it just that more tempting. I strongly urge you to check this out at your nearest Urban Decay counter or Sephora store!

Swatches follow the order left to right as the actual palette.

Too Funny! I was looking at these on Sephora last night and I was like; hmm, I think I want these! Now that I’ve seen swatches I really want them! GIMMIE!

I got an UD eye palette for a friend of mine and she almost didn’t get it! LOL. they have really pretty colors

I’d say it’s about 8″ wide and 5″ in length? It’s decent sized. It’s definitely worth the money for how many shadows you get, and you should be able to get plenty of use out of the colors in it. Even if you start getting through one, you can buy it full-size later on if you love it that much 🙂

three dollars for urban decay shadows! what a fab bargain! quantity and quality! this looks like such a great buy for a make-up newbie such as me 🙂 thanks for the swatches!

I love UD and I want this badly, but I’m not allowed to buy anything besides the MAC holiday pigments and MAYBE some brushes. I am CUT OFF for the rest of the year.

But maybe I’ll buy it for my best friend. And she can let me use it. Heh heh heh heh.

Oh my goodness I soooo desperately want Absinthe and Protest – I wish UD would bring them out as individual shadows, because I have almost all of the permanent colors in the palette and I don’t want to buy the palette when I would only use two colors 🙁

But really, I must go searching for an Absinthe dupe….

i really really like absinthe. and the set is quite affordable, but what i really don’t like about urban decay is their packaging. it always somehow looks..cheap.

I’ve always wanted to try the UD shadows but I’ve been reluctant to stray from Mac cause I loove their colour payoff. This palette seems like it might be worth a try …

Thanks for the swatches, I can’t wait to get this palette!

That Absinthe e/s is too much, UD needs to release it in full size immediately.

i was so excited i ended up getting the 24/7 superstash which incs. NINE shades of the waterproof 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils. it has four NEW shades, for £18 or €28
also got the skin primer and the hall of fame set which im not sure is a uk exclusive but includes travel sizes products)(skyscrapper mascara, travel size midnight cowboy lipstick, timothy pocket rocket lipgloss which looks very red in tube but goes lovely with the lipstick and atravel size zero which is the black 24/7 eye pencil) plus an XL Primer Potion – 60% larger than its regular size!
