Chanel Glossimers Lipgloss Review, Photos, Swatches (Fall 2010)

Chanel Glossimers: Petite Peche, Coral Love, Rose Dilemma, Pink Teaser

Lovin’ Fall for Summer

For fall, Chanel released four new Glossimer shades ($27.00 for 0.19 oz.), but they’re oh-so-perfect for summer–so thank goodness they’re available come July! (Some readers are reporting their local counters have the collection in already, too.)

  • Petite Peche is a sheer, softened peach-pink with subtle gold shimmer. It looks a little milky and less peach, more rose on my lips. For those with pinker or redder lips, I think this shade will look very sheer and just a touch milky–the peachiness will be gobbled up by the natural lip pigment.
  • Coral Love is a sheer, soft coral-pink with golden shimmer. The golden shimmer in this really stands out in this shade.
  • Rose Dilemma is a sheer, blue-based rose pink with white shimmer. This shade is pinker on my lips than Petite Peche, but it has a look that’s part jelly and part milky.
  • Pink Teaser is a semi-opaque shade of fuchsia-pink with gold shimmer. This one was easily my favorite–not just because it’s pigmented, but because it’s such a well-done shade overall. It’s very flattering and wearable by anyone, and it doesn’t just look like any ol’ gloss on the lips.

Glossimers have this way of shimmering and glittering that’s subtle but flashy at the same time. I never understood the big deal about them until I wore one and saw my lips in my car mirror. They looked amazing! They were unreal. Now, I can appreciate the nuances of the shimmer to micro-shimmer these glosses contain. Sometimes they’re sheer, sometimes they’re not. The range really varies, though the majority are sheer to semi-sheer. They wear three to four hours and are a rather non-sticky gloss, which makes the length they wear even more impressive.

I’m totally digging the four new shades for fall, even if they feel and look rather summery (or even springy) to me. They do, of course, pair well with bolder eyes and cheeks, which were stars of Chanel’s fall collection!

Wow, Pink Teaser – I need it! Just because of the name, and of course because of the goldglitter & because a girl can never have enough pink, glittery glosses.
Word.

Very pretty all of them. Pink Teaser is my favourite. A stunning gloss.
I’m not a great lover of glosses, but this one is just so gorgeous, I would easily pay the bucks and get buy it.

I have never tried any Glossimers, but I guess you would really need to see it in person to appreciated these because most of them are so sheer in pictures they look the same. My favourite in the posting is Pink Tease as well.

Pink Tease is the only one I would consider getting. I’ve never owned a glossimer though. I feel silly paying so much for sheer glosses. I wish coral love had more payoff!

These are really pretty! I think that Pink Teaser is my favorite. 🙂

Coral Love kinda reminds me of MAC’s Nymphette lipglass.

I thought those glossimers would be a bit more opaque (specially Rose Dilemma) but I’d love go get them anyway. I’m a sucker for Chanel cosmetics… *sigh*

Petite Peche and Pink Dilemma refuse to leave my wishlist! They are so pretty and I think they would look really nice with my very pale skin. Thank you for your swatches!

Love. I own one in Mirage and can only say, “Love.” Unfortunately, the only one of these gorgeous shades which would look more than MLBB (much better but it is so sad that the pigment is wasted on my rosy-berry lips) is Pink Teaser. But I’m gonna try on all come mid-July. The date is even marked on the calendar.

Just a side note, Christine. You do a lot of wonderful work putting up product pix, swatches, application methods, and a whole bunch of info that I really enjoy.

These are great for a “my lips but better” look and would pair really nicely with a smoky or bold eye. I may have to pick one up. 🙂

Christine I’ve been looking for a neutral gloss that I could layer over lipsticks that won’t alter the colour too much and that will just add shine and a bit off sheen without too much shimmer or glitter. Petit Peche seems like it would be perfect! Is this what I’m looking for or can you think of a better option. Is $27 silly to just layer over something? LOL THANKS!

Pink teaser look so lovely on you! It is my favorite as well. My SA said that color was selling the most (out of the 4 glossimers).

Do you know if petite peche could be duped by another Chanel glossimer, like Beige Guitare, or Pin Up? And how about Rose Dentelle, is that similar to Seashell or Sundress glossimers? I have about a dozen of the softer/sheer shades of glossimers and I don’t want to get another if they are too similar… Thanks in for all your swatches and help!
