Oh greaaat! I’m about 1/2 way through purging my lip stick stash this weekend, and what do I see??? New lovelies. I’ve picked up See Sheer so many times in the store, but wasn’t sure how it would look on my lips, but it’s on my wishlist now, not a color that I have. Don’t think I have anything like Brick- O- La La either, looks perfect for summer. And surprisingly, I don’t have brown lippies with obvious gold shimmer, so MAC O is on the buy list.
I love See Sheer, it’s one of my favorites 🙂
Can one believe that I don’t have even 1 of these, considering how many MAC lipsticks I’ve acquired over the years? Nope, not one of the above! But came *very* close to buying Sandy B, Honeylove, and “O” many a time. And never knew how lovely Fusion Pink looked until today.
With all the new incredible lipstick products bee-lining into my stash this year, there are still shades find in the MAC permanent line which all of a sudden feel fresh and new to me. In a way, I hate this.
I had a very “Oh, I remember you!” time going through these. And then some moments where I was like, “Why have I never swatched you before?!”
Brick-o-la is my all time favorite! Also love Dubonnet.
May have to try Fusion Pink for summer. Thanks Christine!
Really nice to see updated swatches of Brick o La and See Sheer so I can compare them to things on my wishlist!

I Forgot how good brick-o-la Looks, have to search for it, it is somewhere between all my lipsticks
Have to try honylove and Speed dial, I thought they were sheer but on you they Look Great and not sheer

Speak Louder is kind of special to me. It was my very first MAC purchase years ago.
And the wishlist got even longer!
I don’t have any of these, not even one. The only one of these I’ve thought of getting is Dubonnet, now there are at least five others I want, O for one, looks gorgeous.
Good thing they are permanent!

Hi Chrstine, do you think you will eventually add dupes for these? I’m allergic to MAC lip products. ;( in my first MAc makeover, they used O and I loved it! Sadly, that’s how I found out that I couldn’t wear the products. Thank you for the swatches!

See Sheer is one of my favorite lipsticks, across all brands! I am paler so it looks more warm red, less pink on me, but still gorgeous on you too!

I used to have O many years ago!!! It was one of my favorite lipsticks!!!!! I may have to get that and plum dandy and high strung. They are just so pretty!! I love the metallic look and I am so happy that’s back on trend
I always recommend O, as it is a great color that looks good on most skin tones. Dubonnet is one of my fall go-to shades.
Christine, I’m super excited to see you’re going back and filling in the gaps with the permanent MAC lipsticks. For awhile, I was trying to find a dupe of Tom Ford’s Black Orchid lipstick, and I thought MAC Media might be a good dupe but you didn’t have a swatch of Media! (Or Black Orchid for that matter….)
Anyway, it’s great you’re doing this because MAC, love them or hate them, it is a staple brand.
Not to get too off topic, but what do you think about MAC lowering their prices from $11 a single to $6? I’m thinking there’s too much shadow competition out there and their quality can’t compare to some of the other shadows out there so they slashed their prices to reflect that. Have you noticed a loss in quality of their eyeshadow formula since they’ve lowered their prices?
I wonder how MAC is doing as a brand since it feels like they’ve lost a lot of popularity over the past 10 years, but maybe that’s just me getting older and my tastes getting more expensive?
I’m sure they lowered the pricing more because of competition than anything else! I have not noticed a major difference between then and now in any meaningful way – e.g. that they’ve cheapened the formula, only that some shades have had inconsistencies for years (like MAC Carbon), so it is not new or related to the pricing. I already swatched all of the permanent shades, all purchased in 2016, when they did the price drop, so you can see how they swatch 🙂
Plum Dandy is nice, I’ve never seen it before.
I have O and Plum Dandy! They’re so beautiful. I’m wondering if I need to add the other frosts here to my collection. Oh, so it turns out that only some of the Frosts are being DCed, I talked to one of those artists again from MAC and she said it was a rumor that got kinda out of control that all the current ones are being DCed. Jeeeeez thanks a lot, MAC artists! Anyway I really want Dubonnet!!!
I have several of these, but now I want see sheer. I kept thinking, do I need another coral? Now that I see it swatched, indeed I do lol! I used to have O years ago & forgot all about it. I think when fall comes it might have to make it into my stash.
