Sunday Funday: 19 x MAC Permanent Lipstick Swatches
MAC Ravishing Lipstick
There’s no doubt that we swatch and review a veritable treasure trove of MAC Lipsticks ($17.00 for 0.10 oz.) each year, but MAC is so busy churning out new and limited edition shades and formulas that the permanent ones never get revisited (and in some cases, never removed from boxes). I definitely get requests to update/add swatches of permanent shades, so here are some for now! I’m not sure when I’ll be able to do another round, but it’s been on my mind (especially as I was going through the older swatches over the last few weeks for the gallery). As a note, some of these are redos, so they may not appear brand spankin’ new in photos (sorry!).
Freckletone, Mocha and Half and Half are my favorite Mac lipsticks. Love your choices!

I love you for doing this. MAC permanent range has some of the best lipsticks. Their amplified and satin formula is on par or better with some of the $30 lipsticks out there. Some of my recommendations for medium-dark skintones: Half n Half, Up the amp, Verve, Touch, Freckletone

Aditi, Touch and Up The Amp have been on my “wishlist” forever! And I am medium olive, NC37-40 ( depending on formula). Touch looks gorgeous on me, so the only reason I haven’t gotten it yet is that I get distracted by all their LE’s!
You should definitely get those. Not only are they great on their own. They also make a lovely color when layered with each other.

Blankety, freckletone and hug me were some of the first Mac lippies I owned. Darn CCO and B2M!! Now I have something like 50 MAC lippies:)

I’m pretty new to MAC, so thanks for introducing me to some oldies but goodies! Twig and Cosmo look so wearable. MAC CB96 reminds me of UD Vice Wildfire Looks like I need to check out Vegas Volt –have been looking for such a shade for a long time, hope I can pull it off

How neat this feature is! One can get an objective view of what they already own, and revisit ones they had considered before. As it stands, I own 5 of the above: Blankety, Modesty, Cosmo (LOVE), Ravishing, Vegas Volt (a true peach on me, gorgeous!). Apparently, I love Amplified!

I love MAC lippies, especially the Lustre ones as they work wonders on my dry lips. Hug Me is an all-time favourite and one I never get tired of wearing.

CB96 is a great summer color. One of these days I’m going to try Syrup.
Syrup should be an interesting shade, since it is sheerer – it was darker than I anticipated!

CB96 looks a bit like the ‘orange’ I am eyeballing from the new UD formula: Wildfire.
I haven’t tried an orange in ages. Going to swatch the light fantastic and compare the two in the Swatcheroo Gallery.
The UD has a more prominent gold frost..which would prolly work better in my favour.
Yes, it does! I think CB96 has a stronger red/less orange base compared to Wildfire, which appears warmer/more orange to me overall (and as a result, darker).

I love this!! I feel like the permanent line is the best way to go and I prefer to see swatches and decide before I go to buy (it’s way too overwhelming to figure it out while standing there!).
They have some great permanent shades!
Crosswires was my first MAC Lipstick and I still love it a lot! Vegas Volt and Creme Cup have been favorites of mine for a long time as well. Going to add CB96 to my wishlist!

My favorite MAC lipsticks are Twig, Chilli, All Fired Up and Flat Out Fabulous.

I just purchased Twig a month ago, and it is a much cooler toned shade than I have purchased in the past. I thought Twig had some warmth to it, it looks almost purplish brown. Please advise on your experience. Thanks!
I consider Twig to be a warm-toned shade.
