Sounds like a Lipstick Queen hack to me. I’m not a big fan of products that “adjust to your chemistry”. First, I want to know what shade I’m going to get and second, it reminds me of the balms we had as elementary school kids…well that or mood rings! (*showing my age*)
Tarte Energy Noir Lipsurgence Skintuitive Lip Gloss put this sort of product out last year I think it was – there have been others too.
Deborah, you’re right – I forgot about that. I also remembered this is exactly like IT’s lippies in Je Ne Sais Quoi.
I’m kind of interested in these because I like balm stains anyways but maybe not $24 ones just yet.
My thought exactly.
I’ll probably stay with Revlon’s lipbutters.
I ‘ve been liking my Almay ones more. 😉
We don’t have Almay in Brazil. 🙁
I’m sadly not surprised. 🙁 Although, I say you’re not missing much. The product range is all too sheer for my taste.
The colors in this collection look really lovely 🙂 x
I think so too 🙂
Nice collection by MAC but I’m not sure if I’ll pay $20 for a lip balm. :/
The tube looks nice but $20 for a “mood balm” is a little steep. Plus, I never understood why the shade you get from PH sensitive products should be the right shade for you. It has nothing to do with your skin undertones so you might end up with a shade that’s not particularly flattering!
Nope, staying the hell away from these! Every “color-adjusting” lipstick I’ve tried turns into the same horrible shade of neon hot pink on my lips !!
Hmmmm Katherine….what does that say about your mood?! 😉
Oy, ditto!!
Me too. It literally doesn’t matter what color it started out as either within an hour it’s hot pink.
I am not entirely sure *how* I feel about these? But I think Michele, above, summed this product up best. These were around way back in the day, and they can give you something unexpected and perhaps, unwanted, in color.
These Could be very nice. Maybe like the dior lip glow which I really like.
I haven’t tried any of MAC’s lipbalms, but these look nice. Maybe I will pick up the darker berry shade, just to try.
Btw, am I the only one who looked at the photo and thought the packing was golden? ?
“Adjusts to your chemistry” on me always turns into “everything will turn the same shade of hot pink.” I’m not knocking the product; it’s just what these kind of things always do to me. I’ll be passing.
You too, huh? 🙁
Cool product, but the colors are VERY expected
These adjust to your chemistry shades invariably turn various levels of pink to pink red on me. I’ve always been madly disappointed.
Sheer red… Hmmmm,…. Sounds interesting… Would wait for ur swatches and take on it before investing 20 dollars on a lip balm. Good thing is these r all permanent…. So no rush.
I think they still sell Tangee at Vermont Country Store. Now that’s dating yourself. Tangee was around in the 50s. There’s nothing new about the concept, but the formula HAS to be better.
Packaging looks fun, but I don’t really want to pay 24$ for a lip balm. But I don’t mind those color changing lippes, I usually don’t mind the colours they turn out on me. I won’t be running to the store for these, but I may check them out if I happen to be passing by.
Agree with those who always get an unflattering color from these “mood” lip productd. I always get a hideous fuchsia, which looks terrible on me. I’ll give them a look, butmy expectations are low.
Teddy Pink looks nice.
Usually I can care less about MAC and it’s package design (and LE collections) but holographic cases are really tempting. Glad these are permanent.
The price is steep, but considering that I own and love the Dior lipglow, I would definitely consider this. I have the most basic makeup during the work week and this would fit perfectly with that. I can’t bother to retouch at all, when I work in a lab all day 😉
I will however try this out at a mac counter before purchasing…
I agree with you 🙂
