They’re Stephanie Seymour and Peter Brant’s sons, and they’ve been on the party scene in NY since they were very young. They’re famous for pretty much the same reasons as the Hilton sisters. Seems an odd choice for a ollaboratoon to me, but what do I know?

Melissa Avatar

haha I find it odd too. I would find it just as odd if they picked the hilton sisters. Or any other ‘famous-because-famous-parents’ celebrities 🙂

I thought it was just me and that, because I’m older than dirt and really don’t care much about “celebrity”, that I was just (again) out of the loop. But it looks as though I’m in good company. And there’s so much here that looks “recycled” – just MAC’s ordinary stuff (or drek, like Carbon!) in LE packaging. Those lip marker look and sound like they’d be drying as hell. I love it when I get excited by a MAC LE collection but that happens so rarely – I think the “dogs” one was the last that generated much in the way of interest for me and there’s been nothing in ages to match “A Tartan Tale”, for example.

I just put my orange “Tartan Tale” eyeshadow into a Z palette this morning! Loved that collection, thank god those shadows were huge and I still have one!

i tend to gravitate toward neutrals and products that are meant to perfect the skin, brows etc. when i first started buying MAC, there was a collection called boy beauty with a great quad in it (in fact similar to this one, except if i remember there was a navy shade in it instead of black).. on paper this looks like a great collection, i love when MAC does a launch centered around males. i am pretty curious about the lip stain markers. i’m definitely not a fan of the brant brothers, though. this is MAC’s second partnering with them, albeit the first with limited shades and special packaging.. originally they did somewhat of a thrown-together collection of permanent products (which was seemingly just an excuse for MAC to feature these boys, much like many magazines and celebrity blogs have in the past year or so).. i remember seeing that featured on the site, and thinking it was expected although irritating. for people who don’t know, these guys are essentially the new paris and nicky hilton, minus the televised media presence that the hiltons garnered early on. they are famous for basically nothing besides their wealth, parents, and fashion show attendance. i could probably see myself buying some of this (i’m looking at you in particular, el dorado) if their names weren’t stamped onto everything. it would have to be an insanely good product for me to overlook that detail, especially if it were something useful for every day like the quad seems to be. also, and i know i’m not the only person wondering this, why does MAC bother to repromote smolder and carbon anymore?

thanks for the clarification on who they are. these type collabs are unfortunate given so many other acomplished, self made people around.

Curious about the champagne gold eye liner and lipstick markers. The only one I’ve tried was Cover Girl Outlast Lipstain Marker, and it was a disaster -either dried out within a couple of uses or was so runny, it bled way past lip lines (yuck). Hope these are better

Carrie Avatar

Why, Carbon, why?!?! Otherwise, the only thing of note in this collection is the male inspiration. It’s cool, but not reason enough to buy neutrals you can likely get in better formulas elsewhere.

Christina Avatar

I had no clue who these two are until today. LOL! They’re handsome and pretty in a model way, so I could see how MAC wanted to collaborate with them. I don’t care too much about the branding on the package, but at least it’s subtle, and the colors are nice and sophisticated. I’m particularly interested in Paragon and El Dorado.

Hey, I’m old. What do I know? Is that the darling pair in the car photo? I must admit to being envious of the bone structure. Mom’s was lovely, as I recall. Can’t say I’m in, but I would like to see some makeup skill in the male pop. I generally see either drag or nothing, irl. And some of the gents really need help. Seriously. Although, if actor Nestor Carbonell does not have ‘natural’ eyeliner, his MUA should be doing all the Y chromes. Thanks for the info, those in the know. Are they known for androgeny, ’cause I thought they were women at first & could not figure out why Xs were modeling for a Y based promo.

Well, my 1st problem with this this is that I DESPISE lip stain markers!!! Having used the ones by Revlon and a few others, they dry out my lips like literally nothing else! 2nd problem: Carbon? Again? Oh heck naw!!!! It should have been Nehru instead! Oh yeah, that’s right… MAC DC’d their one *perfect*, creamy smooth black. #BringBackNehru

LMAO! Yes they are. I will never be able to unsee Peter and his Mom in bathing suits with his hand on a place no teenage (17 at the time) boy should be touching his mother while they french kiss each other. His um “enjoyment” of this is evident and his uh “joy” is popping right up for all to see. Google if you dare but I promise you’ll wish you hadn’t. All ages, all races, all genders. I’m down with that MAC, but this is HtotheELL NO! I’m so sorry Kim I didn’t mean to hijack your comment but once I got started I couldn’t stop. The ick factor….It’s so revolting.

Kylie5 Avatar

There was a Gold eyeliner from urban decay called Eldorado. If you swatch it maybe you can say something about if it is similar.

Cat Avatar

I have no idea who these two are, and I’m also unfamiliar with their parents (mentioned by another poster). The only thing that looks interesting is the gold liner, and ABH has a gold liner that I’ve already been eyeing.

I sometimes think I should forget watching MAC releases and just shop the CCO for any highly rated items. I wish MAC would release fewer collections and increase the quality of the collections released. I’m ambivelent to this collection.

Veronica Avatar

Ah, the Brant brothers. Because when I think women’s beauty, I think two spoiled young men who make incredibly creepy photoshoots with their outdated model mother who rack up felony assault and drunk driving charges in their free time.

Cathy Avatar

Sadly, there’s nothing in this collection that appeals to me….that is, except for Peter and Harry Brant 🙂 Dang, those boys are pretty!
