New for summer, LORAC has released their Light Source Illuminating Highlighter in four shades (reviews to come for all shades). The formula is supposed to be buildable for both a “soft, natural sheen” or “layered for a high-shine, dramatic effect.” Starlight had medium, buildable pigmentation that didn’t require a lot of layers to intensify, but it was also to apply as a sheerer layer without having to be very, very light-handed. The powder had a very smooth, silky consistency in the pan, and it wasn’t too powdery nor was it too firm. It was easy to apply, blend and diffuse along the edges, and the finish didn’t emphasize pores. This shade wore for eight and a half hours before breaking down.

Drools…….. Every brand is making such good highlighter for Pale to Light skin tones now. 🙂
Finally 😀
I agree!
Right – yay!!!
Very beautiful: shine but no glitter 🙂
Yay!
I like a softer highlight like this! The price isn’t too bad on these either I noticed. 🙂
They are reasonably priced!
Pretty! Very luminous.
It is!
So pretty! I’ve been waiting for this review, thanks!? Do you like this over the new UD sin highlight? And also, I’ve been trying to work on my highlighter collection, only own Becca’s opal & Laura Gellar’s gilded honey.
Do you think this is a good addition?
Almost reminds me of Laura Mercier’s matte highlighter #1, where it’s more of a natural sheen, which I want..?
They’re both good, and I like the same. They are both pretty dupable, so it really just comes down to your preferred finish, brand, price point, etc.
Hi Christine,
Thanks for your review!
Is this one less shimmery or more shimmery than Kevyn Aucoin Candlelight?
Also, which do you prefer, Moonlight or Starlight?
The quality is very similar, so it just depends on the color – I don’t wear pink highlighter very often, so Moonlight is not one I would reach for personally.
Candlelight is less shimmery!
I want one of these new Lorac highlighters but idk which to pick. They all seem fairly dupeable. Which is your personal fave, Christine?
They are all dupable for sure! I don’t know if I have a favorite. They’re nice, but there wasn’t really a shade that I was super excited over.
Yeah I know what you mean. I’m not super excited about them either. I think I’ll wait for Jeffree Star’s new highlighters which are sure to have some really fun colors! I do hope you’ll review his products at some point!
As nice as this looks, I still think Lunch Money will be in my next CP haul instead. But I DO like this one, just that I don’t wear lighter highlighters that often, usually if I do, it’s still Laura Mercier Matte Highlight 01.
Lunch Money sounds like the better choice!
I debated back and forth between Starlight and Daylight, but went with Daylight because I thought it looked more gold/yellow.
Good pick, Katherine!
This looks absolutely lovely on your skin Christine.
Thanks, Alicia!
Dang, that is actually amazing. It’s the perfect amount of warmth for cool toned skin.
That is great news!
I agree!
Lovely! I’m glad I have Becca’s Moonlight so I’m covered ?.
I meant to say Moonstone, haha! Very similar names!
Phew!
This is just as good as I expected it!! It looks amazing on warm skin tones!!
Yay!
This is really pretty illuminating powder and I love it.
Awesome to hear!
I like these highlighters the more I see them! They’re definitely not “on fleek” and so saturated that it looks like cooking grease. I like the more understated stuff.
Oh, yeah, they are not super metallic, but they aren’t subtle either. I think you can build up or try a damp brush to get them metallic, if desired!
I really like how these can be applied easily as subtle, yet are also buildable for more pizzazz.
Me too! Buildable is great for a formula like this.
