ColourPop Descanso & Teaspoon Creme Gel Colours Reviews, Photos, Swatches
ColourPop Descanso Creme Gel Colour
ColourPop Descanso Creme Gel Colour ($6.00 for 0.11 oz.) is described as a “bright purple.” It’s a bold, bright, medium-dark violet purple with cool undertones and bluish micro-glitter. It had mostly opaque color payoff with a creamy consistency that wasn’t too heavy, nor did it take too long to dry (it is quicker-drying). The color is so vibrant and pops well on the lash line, but I had issues with the glitter and color flaking on me over time, even though much of the color remained visible for over eight hours. KVD Beauty Roxy (P, $18.00) is less shimmery, darker (85% similar). NARS Blue Lotus (P, $24.00) is less shimmery, darker, more muted (85% similar). NARS St. Marks Place (P, $24.00) is less shimmery, darker (85% similar). KVD Beauty Homie (PiP, $10.00) is darker, warmer (85% similar). Buxom Door's Unlocked (P, $17.00) is darker, warmer (80% similar). Sephora Eccentric Diva (DC, $10.00) is darker, warmer (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
ColourPop Teaspoon Creme Gel Colour ($6.00 for 0.11 oz.) is described as an “intense emerald green.” It’s a medium-dark green with cool undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque coverage with a thin, creamy texture that tended to sheer out when applied, so it is better applied in deliberately thin layers or in shorter strokes to maximize opacity. The consistency looks drier in the swatch than it felt and worked out in person. The color wore for over eight hours on me. KVD Beauty Lemmy (P, $18.00) is darker, warmer (95% similar). ColourPop Teaspoon (LE, $7.00) is more muted (95% similar). Melt Cosmetics Fortuna (P, $19.00) is darker, cooler (85% similar). About Face Call Me Crazy (P, $13.00) is lighter, warmer (85% similar). Buxom Ring My Bell (P, $17.00) is darker (85% similar). Sephora Indulge Yourself (22) (DC, $10.00) is more shimmery, lighter (80% similar). ColourPop Canopy (LE, $7.00) is lighter, warmer (80% similar). Haus Labs Grime (P, $18.00) is lighter, warmer (80% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.

Wow, Descano is really pretty, an eye brightening color! I like how it has some cool, blue undertones, as many purples lean pink and warmer.
It’s a gorgeous hue!
Fun colors!
They are!
I think I’ve said this before but Descanso is just gorgeous! I definitely want to get my hands on it. I’m always on the lookout for a bright purple because they rarely come out as bright and pigmented as I’d like. Now to figure out how to get it since they don’t ship to here and alternative options I’ve seen as so expensive. The cheapest is about £20 – do I like it enough to spend that amount on it? ?
If you would wear it all the time and can afford it, maybe – assuming no dupes etc. 🙂
I got both of these. I have one gripe here. The lids! 30% of the time they get stuck initially. I must be a weakling or something. I still haven’t gotten Descanso opened!
Oh no! I think there have been only one or two that I’ve had to ask my husband to open for me, lol.
I had one of mine do that. I had to have my son open it for me.
Well . Guess it’s time I find a man. Lol.
I’d be glad to send you my son…
I feel like I’m gonna get a lot of use out of Descanso when this order comes 😀 Teaspoon is also really interesting and I can’t wait to play with it!
Awesome! I hope you love ’em both!
Teaspoon is stunningg! would work as a really gorgeous base for a bright royal green eye.
It is a fun shade for spring/summer!
I love both of these! Descanso is gorgeous. Both shades are rather unique.
They are more unique!
Teaspoon looks like such a fresh, clean shade! Especially for spring/summer. And I am also digging Descano, as well! These are great for taking a break from my usual pitch black or very dark teal cat-eye regulars!
I agree, Nancy! I think Teaspoon is the perfect kind of shade for summer.
Descanso is gorgeous!
I agree!
Descano is so pretty! I wish it was available as a pencil, because I never use eyeliners in jars.
That would be great!
I like the slight iridescence of Descano.
Me too!
I like Descanso but I’m leery about purchasing another liner. I had an unpleasant experience with DTLA the second time I used it. It seemed to dry out on my lid, turn into something crusty, then flaked off in a few places. The first time I used it, it performed perfectly so I don’t know if I layered it on too thick the second time or… what? On the other hand, I’ve never had a problem with Call Me or Best O along the bottom lash line when I’ve applied a thinner layer and smudged it out.
Oh no!! That is so weird. I was going to say, maybe the dye used in it? But if Best O is okay, then that’s weird.
