Cool-toned neutral eyeshadow palettes that don’t include the seemingly obligatory gold/bronze shade… Also, foundation that actually matches my skin, and highlighters that are talc- & petroleum-free.
Well, it all makes me happy but I love me some purple – purple lipstick, glosses, blushes, shadows, eyeliners, etc. because I look great in all kinds of purple 🙂
Depending on where my head is at on a given day, I love it when it works in sync with my coloring and features, giving me a certain “something”, be it sophistication or conversely, a rocker chic!
Or….let it just plays up my eyes as the main focus.
Which is why I may be bringing MAC The Fashion Flock lipstick back, regrettably. Such a gorgeous color, but no matter what I’ve tried so far, it goes very lip-liney on me. Basically, I look like either an aging crack ho. Sad.?
Girl, crack ho! Hysterical. But I’m sure you’ll score a dupe in an acceptable formula. Too funny!
Even the 2 different eyebrow wax sticks didn’t work! Yet the icky, dried up MAC eyebrow wax that was about to get chucked did? The shade itself is beautiful, though almost neon because it seems to have a white base. But it goes into every little crack and crevice in my lips that up until I tried THIS lipstick on, didn’t even know that I had! So frustrating, and extremely weird. Also, it catches on any little flake, that again, are utterly unnoticeable until THIS goes on. And, yep, I always exfoliate them before. I’m just confounded.?
I do believe Bite Amuse Boucle in Sorbet may be more forgiving, and a very close shade! ?
I adore the focus on my lips! When I’m low on time in the mornings, I always pull out a statement lip and instantly brighten up. I rarely ever wear “true nude” colors, preferring natural pinks a little lighter than my lip over something closer to my skin, whereas I’ll do nothing on my eyes but a fast sweep of mascara. Every time I see my reflection, it’s something I can clearly see and go “hey, that’s me, my lips are awesome and I do look beautiful today.”
I’d love to have amazing skin but as it is, storm fronts in my area are shoving my skin to the backseat. Oh well–nothing that can’t be hidden with a good foundation and that Taylor Swift lip 😀
The right blush and lipstick can breathe life into my roughest looking day.
Neutral lids with a black cat eye liner, and big [natural, but mascaraed lashes] lashes. Soft foundation, with light blush and glossed lips. And don’t forget the subtle highlight. 🙂

on myself? I feel happiest when I’m wearing a really bold lip color (usually super dark) and my brows look good

Clear skin, coloured eyeliner and bright lipstick (not necessarily all at the same time)…
That totally depends on my mood, but in general the makeup that turned out like I planned it. Doesn’t always happen…

Bright lips and beautiful skin!
A bright eye or a bright lip, colour makes me feel happy!
On myself, a well-executed colorful eye or bright lip that enhances my complexion. I guess I don’t expect my skin to get to amazingness at this point (age almost 60), but I get upset when there’s weird swelling, or sudden shrinkage with an abundance of saggy skin, or weird spots or rashes to deal with, but I think of makeup as only a temporary fix for that, look to skin care for more long-term remediation.
On others: whatever makes the person feel happy and more confident 🙂
A healthy, glowing complexion!
I love luminous perfect skin and and am loving a perfect eye with more matte neutrals and the shimmer on the mobile lid. I’ll bring in color as our weather warms. I really am still loving a good liner flick, but can’t get it right on myself sill. So, I do a good smoky liner. BROWS are a must for me!
The whole shebang! Great skin and a really polished look, which to me means a well-blended eye (could be a pop of color or neutral) with 3-4 colors, and coordinated cheek and lip.
Dark lipsticks and purple eyeliners that aren’t patchy. Lip balms that don’t have petroleum.
Hard to say as I love most makeup! Which is funny because I don’t do much regularly. I think I feel the most myself with either a gothier look or light shimmering eyes with a dark or bright lip.
Colorful smoky eyes that make the green in my eyes pop, or a beautiful bright lip color.
Natural dewy skin, hazy soft smokey eyes (no dark liner in the waterline since my eyes are sensitive), and fluffy mascaraed lashes. A natural nude with a smidgen of sheen makes me happiest.
Lipstick!
1. Lipstick – It’s transformative. It can support or pop a look. I wear it every day. Even on no/low makeup days, I’m wearing lipstick. When I’m in full makeup, lipstick is the star product and I feel gorgeous!
2. Under eye correctors & concealers – thankfully there are products to lessen the redness and dark circles under these eyeballs! These products are necessities.
Bright lipstick in shades of coral, orange, fuchsia pink, reddish-pinky-coral or blushes in bright but not-too- pigmented shades…They really liven up my face and make me feel happiest when I wear them.
For the face I like relatively flawless skin- nothing too matte or glowy. A liquid foundation with good coverage is a must, preferably one that I don’t need to powder to set. Neutral pink satin/slightly shimmery blush with a subtle highlighter courtesy of a white satin pressed powder or any lightly shimmering powder.
Now the eyes! Neutral eyeshadow (shimmer on lid, matte in crease and satin on brow bone), well executed black, winged liner, quite bold, with a bright pop of colour on the lower lash line (usually teal or purple but I’ll go for anything that’s eye-catching)! I love lots of mascara too. Nothing on the water line, it just doesn’t suit me.
Brows are defined with a fine pencil and kept in place with a tinted brow gel. They’d better be in good shape- not messy and untamed!
Finally the lips! First is lip balm. It’s essential for me 24/7. Then a neutral, maybe slightly warm, sheer pink lipstick, lightly using a matching lip liner to define the cupid’s bow. Tinted lip balm is also a good option. Subtle with a lovely sheen. I want the eyes to be the focus. ?
That’s my go-to look when I want to be really made up. The only thing I sometimes do differently is I’ll skip the bright liner and do a bold lip instead.
Anything pink or mauve-like and sparkly makes me happy! Any look that involves pink are my favorite.

Lavender, cobalt, and indigo eye shadows. Periwinkle and gray liners. Iridescent highlighters with weird, creepy, ethereal tones. Anything that makes me feel otherworldly 🙂
Oh, and of course purple lips of all kinds.

Beautiful shades of olive and green eye shadows, paired with a lovely russet lipstick. That is my idea of heaven. As well a great foundation.
Pinky, peachy corally shades make me happiest because no matter what they always look good, and bring out the beauty of my complexion.
My favorite purchases are usually lipsticks. I am forever on the quest for the perfect nude, pinkish brown and coral. I also adore foundation. Currently I am totally enamored with Charlotte Tilbury, Magic Foundation with her Wonder Glow worn under.
The makeup that makes me happiest is pretty cheek colors, shiny lipstick and foundation that is matte and pretty.
When I accomplish the elusive perfectly blended smokey eye that thrills me ! And also when my reflection in the car rear view mirror looks similar to what I saw in my vanity mirror !
Black lipstick (or other “unconventional” lip colors) and really colorful eyeshadow make my day. I just get so happy when trying different color combinations

Well, anything lipstick (liquid or bullet form) makes me happy! Or anything colorful, neon and shiny for formula / color!
Clear natural looking skin with flattering blush. Beautiful eye colors with liner and a great mascara. A translucent lip. Not a fan of matter lips.
i get super happy when my eyeliner looks perfect, when my skin is clear and vibrant and a pretty red lip that is my secret weapon for a long hard day ahead. This always makes me happy! And of course the ocasional shimmer in my eyes which gives me life 😀 i just love it! Also love the feel of unwrapping a new beauty product that i have been wanting for a while.
I would say, defined, killer cheeks and flawless skin.
As for products, I (would) like a good all-around,not too big eyeshadow palette that was mostly neutral and had some matte shades, but a bit more color-variety on the wearable side (a bit of olive green here, a bit of purple there). Nice neutral cream finish nail polishes, that are a bit more unique and complex than your typical nudes and light pinks.
I was thinking hard about this question but then I realised it was so obvious. What makes me really happy is when I think of some eyeshadow combination and then when I try it, it works. For instance: the past three days I have been wearing Guerlain’s grey ‘L’instant d’une ondée’ with a thin layer of Chanel’s Illusion d’ombre in Diapason on top of it. (and a tiny bit of black pencil in the root of my upper eye lashes). It makes a gorgeous (cool-greyish-mauvish-purplish) shade! And in dispite of all the shimmer, it is very wearable for daytime as well. I am happy as a child every time a see it in a mirror! Hahahahahaha! 🙂 🙂 🙂
Lipstick (I’ve started calling myself a lipstick collector since I own over 100 lipsticks, lipglosses, lip liners, etc.). Also, I’ve been really into using a dark purple or plum shade as the outer corner or crease shade in my eye makeup.
The look totally depends on my mood and what I am doing. But what makes me happiest is when I feel the look reflects the idea I had in my head and is executed well.
those limited edition compacts with the pretty designs in them like the Dior gardens highlighter which is sad because they are temporary or makeup with pretty packaging
bare eye, super dewy skin and glossy nude lips , or mascara and dark burgundy lips !

Even if I am having a totally meh day, wearing a pretty shade of lipstick just makes me feel great!
