I hope the palette is go quality– I LOVE the colours! And the blushes are beautiful!! Thanks for posting this, Christine!
No problem, Ashley!
The palette looks interesting, but I haven’t had success with the Times Nine palettes; they’re OK but not great. I had bought all of them and was disappointed by all of them, so this time, I will skip from the get go. I’ll stick with the 15 pan pre-made palettes from Nordstrom.
Bummer!
Well, hard pass on the eyeshadow palette. But the beauty powders and a few of the blushes look great! I’m so into unashamedly BLUSHY blush right now! I plan the rest of my makeup around my blush…
There are so many bold blushes in this launch!
so do I! 🙂
it’s all about blush ))
I don’t care for the eye shadow palette (I can recreate the blue and Green with existing eye shadows, don’t wear pink on eyes), but I want so many of the blushes!!!!
Pearl Blossom beauty powder has been released before, right?
Yes, it’s a repromote.
What was the last collection it was in? I think I bought it before, will have to check bc I’m totally drawn to it.
I don’t recall the collection name off the top of my head, but it was in March.
The shadow palette looks like a mixed bag, but the blushes and beauty powders are really pretty
We shall see!
Life’s a Picnic and Oh My! are definitely on the list to buy. I don’t have either of those blush colors. 🙂
Bold picks!
Those are my exact picks as well for blushes!! so bright en pretty
I like the shadow palette. A few blushes are okay. Excited for the reviews!
Yay!
Maybe its just me, but everything looks dry and powdery. Hopefully they will apply better on the cheeks and eyes 🙂
We’ll see!
The eye shadow palette is meh. There are a couple blushes that look pretty!
Which blushes caught your eye, Amber?
I am IN LOVE with the What I Fancy blush. I think it would be so pretty for the summer time!
Yay!
Is it just me, or do some of those e/s and blush look chalky? Maybe it’s just my bias against mattes?
Having said that, I’m thinking that ‘Let’s Be Friends’ and ‘This Could Be Fun’ blushes may need to be added to my hoard (um, collection). <3
Glad you found two things you liked.
I wonder if MAC Oh My! Blush is similar to a LE Nars blush called “Boys don’t cry”?!
I haven’t pulled dupes yet for everything, so I’m not sure.
Oh My…yes!
Yay!
Ooooh loving the blushes
Awesome!
Also interested to see your reviews on these. I think the palette is a pass. The colors just don’t speak to me and yellow is a hard color for me to pull off no matter what the look is. The blushes look promising, but I have been purchasing so many blushes recently, I think the reviews will have to be in the “life changing” realm to get me on board.
I don’t know if I’ve ever or when the last time I ever said a product was life-changing, so I’m not sure that’s going to happen, lol!
I just love all of this! It’s the first time in a long while that I have been this excited about a new MAC collection. Fingers crossed that these all wear well, especially the eye palette!
Woo!
The eyeshadow palette actually looks promising!
Here’s hoping!
That palette, though! So springtime-y fresh and prettier than I had imagined. Oh, how I hope it reviews well, fingers crossed!
The blushes also have some really intriguing shades going on: vivid MAGENTA!!! ?
They’re very bright!
Only the bright pink and blue stand out in the eyeshadow palette… But the blushes look great! So pigmented!
The blushes are intense!
ughhh those blushes look beautiful, can’t wait to see what dupes come up! i don’t buy mac anymore, animal testing is not for me.
Gotcha!
I don’t need more blush. But Oh My! is so pretty. It reminds me of Colourpop Fruit Stand, so I’m looking forward to your review and comparison swatches Christine 🙂
Thanks, Megan! You should start seeing them roll out today!
The eyeshadow palette looks beautiful! All of my favorite colors, and reminds me of the Gwen Stefani palette. Can’t wait to see the quality.
It seems like an interesting set of shades!
I love the palette, but some of the sasqswatches look dicey. The blushes are too much for my current tastes. Looking forward to reviews.
The blushes are pretty bold! Refreshing to see, though, even if I’m actually not one to often reach for the darker/bolder shades myself.
Not to be a Debbie downer but the eyeshadow palette immediately reminded me of UDxGwen and UD is much better. I love the Gwen palette. If you like how this looks at $50, just grab the Gwen and a few vivid magenta/pink singles from where you want to. Money invested better imho. The blushes are all repromotions of their blushes/beauty powders with either the identical name or a name change. That upsets me. I love MAC. Many staples of mine are MAC. I want to see a new collection that is all new though. It is nice to see some colors from the past!
Eye shadows have repromotes and changed names too. I thought sushi flower was perm?
Yes, Sushi Flower is permanent. Sometimes they include permanent shades in their palettes.
As far as I know, most of the blushes are new, though given that MAC has released so many shades, I am sure some have close cousins 🙂 Pink Swoon is for sure a repromote!
Pink Swoon was my all time favorite blush! I just fell out of my chair to see it in this set. Definitely buying multiple.
I was wondering that too- How far out this was planned and if the UD x Gwen Stefani palette influenced it at all, because it has pretty much the same shade offering minus the slew of neutrals UD has.
No special packaging on this collection. I like the shade offerings but I’m not sure it seems unique or up to their upped LE price tags…
MAC usually works 1-2 years in advance, sometimes 3-5 years in advance for certain designers/celebrities. The prices on these is standard MAC pricing, FYI 🙂 If they had done special packaging, they would have had increased prices.
Oh I was thinking the lipsticks were increased… I don’t really follow MAC prices! That’s good to know though, thanks.
I didn’t know their collections were planned that far out. That’s a long time!
Most brands are working that far advance, actually! I’m sure a few things here and there may have shorter lead time, but as far as I know, most brands work pretty far out so they can plan their launches and calendars, plus manufacturing and getting product to print press well in advance of their publication dates alone.
I bet that makes things tricky when it comes to the ever-changing trends that flare up, like liquid lipsticks or stark highlighters or super dewy foundations… I guess my impression was that the turnaround time was a lot faster since I tend to see a lot of similar products hit the market at once, but that might be driven more from formulation innovation. All the more impressive for brands that manage to deliver high quality products in “trending” shades and finishes.
1-2 years in advance? I would not ever guess that. Maybe in two years it will be even better? I am happy to see older colors I loved come back. I wish they would keep the names straight though. I feel stuck in awe on the fact this was thought up 1-2 years ago. Does that apply to all brands? ?
I’m sure every brand is different in their timing, but the ones that I’m aware of are 1-2 years easily. MAC often repromotes, so when MAC releases something with a different name, I have generally found it to be different, even if it is similar to other shades previously released. I don’t find that MAC is guilty of releasing the same thing under a different name, personally.
This blushes are PIGMENTED! I hope they perform well too, I like the look of a few. A very cute and cohesive collection!
Here’s hoping!
Those blushes look gorgeous. This is a very dangerous collection for someone like me who loves anything in the pink or coral families. I love the colors in the eye palette, though a few look like they need primer. I really want to see the reviews on these.
Uh oh! 😉
Ooh, Pink Swoon is back! I was hoping to see it again. I still have the original one. I wonder how it’ll compare. Do you have the original Christine, for comparison?
They brought back Pink Swoon last year in the permanent range. http://www.temptalia.com/mac-pink-swoon-blush-review-photos-swatches
It looks like one of the Barbie blushes from a ton of years ago!
I like the colours but some of the swatches look iffy to me. Bright pink on the eyes is hard for me to pull off as I’ve fair skin and green eyes, but they can be used as blush instead. I do like the eye palette, it’s pretty, however Sushi Flower looks patchy ?.
The 9x palettes are pretty tiny (dime sized), so it might be a little harder to use it as a blush (as a FYI).
A few of the blushes are so wantable – and the names are very cute too…Let’s Be Friends, This Could be Fun and Life’s a Picnic, especially. Even Oh My looks like a shade I could and would wear. But there are only 2 or 3 shades in the eyeshadow palette that I would wear (and they’re similar to so many shades I have already).
The blushes are so bold! It’s nice to see for spring.
I’m excited! Two blushes and one pearl blossom beauty powder – thumbs up!
Awesome!
I don’t really buy too many MAC eye shadows any more unless they have something special going on with them like the Dazzleshadows or Colordrenched Pigments. The pigments in this collection sound like they will be really nice. That said I really like the look of Floridazzle and Bird’s Eye View. That brown Naturally Fabulous and Sushi Flower don’t look like they swatched too well!I like the look of most of the colors so I’ll make my decision based on your reviews. The blushes are lovely?I really like Spring Flock,This Could Be Fun,and What I Fancy.
The pigments are permanent and have been around for awhile, so you could get them any time 🙂
The eyeshadows look uneven at best but the blushes look fabulous. Thanks for sharing!
No problem!
These blushes are gorgeous!! I’m really loving Spring Flock and What I Fancy. Idk about Sunny Surprise, it looks like it may not show up on my NC25 skin.
Sunny Surprise is definitely a lighter shade!
Not feeling the shadows but the blushes look from ok to fabulous.
Seems like most aren’t feeling the eyeshadows!
The blushes look good, albeit bright, but the eye shadows – matte and dry.
We shall see!
Floridazzle, Elegant Friend, and Weirdly Wonderful are calling my name, but I’d have no use for all the pinks in the eyeshadow palette, bummer. Most of the blushes look too warm and/or matte to really appeal to me
I love the name Floridazzle.
These are some really vibrant pinks! Sunny Surprise and Spring Flock look nice. This will most likely be a pass for me, save for a beauty powder, a few blushes or maybe the pigments. Most of these are not colors I gravitate toward or use. I’m actually quite relieved – I need to be on a low-buy for a few months, thank you Tom Ford.
LOL! Tom Ford will wipe out a budget real quick!
The eye shadow palette isn’t my cup of tea but the blushes are lovely!
Glad you like the blushes, Ankita!
The colours are all so bright and beautiful; very spring-like! But I definitely want to read Christine’s reviews before purchasing anything because, to me, some of the swatches look very dry. We shall see…..
This is a bold and bright collection!
How does the blush What I Fancy compare to the wash and dry collection blush Crisp Whites??
How does the “What I Fancy” blush compares to the Pro longwear blush “Rosy Outlook” ? Thanks in advance! I love your reviews and swatches!
OMG! I can’t wait to go swatch these blushes and lipsticks at the store! They are all so pretty! I’m going to have to compromise on my budget though. LOL
Is Macs Blush “supercontinental” similar to “Spring Flock”? Thank you for posting 🙂
