We appreciate enthusiasm for new releases but ask readers to please hold questions regarding if/when a review will be posted as we can't commit to or guarantee product reviews. We don't want to set expectations and then disappoint readers as even products that are swatched don't always end up being reviewed due to time constraints and changes in priorities! Thank you for understanding!

Interesting that Ambient Lighting Powder won for setting powder. I wonder if voters were lumping finishing powder and setting powder together…… or if I should be trying an Ambient Lighting Powder to set. (I haven’t tried one yet).
It’s actually good for setting (in my experience), because it has more of a base to it (more pigmented in a sense)!
Thanks, I should try Ethereal. I like my Laura Mercier setting powder (which I carefully dispense and apply with a damp sponge), but sometimes I’d like to get out the door quicker lol.
It’s good if one has dry skin. I look horrid, cakey and dull if I try to set with anything else.
I feel a lot was lumped together. New categories and trying something new like expanding in areas might be reason. The total of all reviews done etc is so much that running these has to be hard esp when a year of hybrids come.
Great picks! I love seeing ColourPop sweeping so many categories!
I’m surprised that the Sephora brand is considered underrated. What products are worth trying?
I like their eyeliners, lipsticks, blushes, brushes, and eyeshadows.
I think my favorite winner has to be URBAN DECAY PRIMER POTION.
They’ve completely swept the category for years! And they’ll probably do it again for ’16.
That’s the power of the potion.
It’s funny, but I remember buying it years ago because of the hype, and it never worked for me like it does for others!
Really?!
I’d bought mine too because of the hype, and it worked well. I’ve come to realize that the “Original” formula in the tube with the doe foot applicator works a lot better than the one in the squeeze tube. Strange.
It actually causes products to crease on me faster than if I wore them alone! Both the original, years ago version as well as any updates/changes they’ve done since then.
What do you use now as an eye primer?
NARS, but I very rarely use primer. Maybe a dozen or so times a year!
No surprise, but Colour Pop dominated in the categories it was nominated in, and their victory was well-deserved. And it’s insane how they can launch totally new product categories (highlighters, blushes, liquid lipsticks, eyeliners, eye shadows) and keep up the consistently high quality and rock bottom prices. Bigger brands have stumbled badly when they try this (ie Hourglass modernist shadows, Clinique Lid pop shadows, YSL liquid eye shadow, Dior Addict liquid eye shadows, KVD blushes, MUG sparklers, etc etc ). I can’t wait to see what Colour Pop does in 2016 !
I’m curious to see what new products they’ll create for sure. They fleshed out more of their line this year (in terms of formula), but we’ll see what they do this year.
Yeah, it is very clearly time for me to make a Colour Pop purchase now and give them a try. I have heard so many great things about them. I don’t know why I have held off for so long!
I’m shocked at people voting MAC as the best lipstick and UD as the best primer. I can’t make UD work for me and MAC lipsticks are all over the place quality wise.
I think we’re in the minority for UDPP not working, though 😉
Me too! Cannot use the stuff–I rely on Too Faced Shadow Insurance. Same exact problem as you–creases within an hour on me!
Great list! I was happy to that Nyx Butter gloss on there. 🙂 I’ll definitely have to check out those ColorPop products, too.
The Butter Glosses are nice!
Oh wow, I just noticed that of the top 15 eyeshadow primers listed, only 1 works on me (the Wet N’ Wild Fergie one), 11 failed, and only 3 haven’t been tried yet ( LM, Milani, and the Balm). I heard they were either discontinuing Fergie or re-releasing it without the Fergie name (collaboration must’ve ended), so I ended up stockpiling 6 tubes, which should hopefully last me 10 years. Maybe by then my oily lids will dry up, they come out with a better primer, or shadows that won’t fade or crease!
Wet ‘n’ Wild did say they will bring it back, but I guess all the Fergie products are going away.
That’s a shame. I really like the Fergie lipsticks, and there are a a couple I don’t have yet. I’ll have to try to grab them. Pagan Angel is such a good black that I hate to see it go away.
I completely forgot to do the survey! I did start doing it when it first came out but didn’t finish it as I wanted more time to think about my choices. But then I forgot to come back to do it and then the deadline came and went! Oops!
Aww!
The fact that Hakuhodo didn’t even get a look in for best brushes category makes me sad for everyone
Hakuhodo was nominated – not sure what you mean! They didn’t win, but they were nominated and included in the short list.
Oh yeah, I saw that they were nominated/made your list (and I voted for them myself) but the fact they didn’t make top 3 on the ‘readers choice’ makes me think that not enough people have experienced how beautiful they are!
Nice to see ColourPop slay! I’m fascinated by the categories that had a winner with 30% of votes give or take. Says a lot! We’re budget and high end combined for categories like lips and eyes? I use a setting powder to keep base in place and create smooth canvas to finish on so then a finishing powder. Etc Hourglass ALP is a finishing for me. Where do hybrid formulas fit in for eyes? Liners-Cream gel eyeliners: MJB states theirs are cream gel in pencil form so don’t they go in cream gel category? This was fun but I wish it was clearer. Def gonna try where percentage was obv high.
Unless it says high-end or budget, then there was no limitation.
