Chanel Coups de Minuit Joues Contraste Lumiere Review, Photos, Swatches
Chanel Coups de Minuit (12) Joues Contraste Lumiere
Chanel Coups de Minuit (12) Joues Contraste Lumiere ($45.00 for 0.09 oz.) is described as a “peach beige.” It’s a light, muted peachy-beige with warm undertones and a slight rosiness paired with a soft sheen. NARS Devotee (LE, $30.00) is more shimmery (95% similar). MAC Sparkling Rose (LE, $26.00) is darker, warmer (90% similar). Pretty Vulgar Glimmers of BS (P, $32.00) is warmer (90% similar). bareMinerals The Five Star Treatment (LE, $26.00) is lighter (90% similar). Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Highlighter (LE, ) is lighter, warmer (90% similar). Fenty Beauty Starstruck (P, $25.00) is more shimmery (90% similar). Laura Geller Peach Glow (P, $26.00) is more shimmery, lighter (90% similar). MAC Rosy Glow (LE, ) is lighter, warmer (85% similar). ColourPop On Tempo (PiP, $12.00) is more shimmery, warmer (85% similar). MAC Otherearthly (LE, $34.00) is more shimmery, lighter (85% similar). See comparison swatches / view dupes side-by-side.
It’s a new, limited edition highlighter version of their blush formula, which “can be worn alone or over any Joues Contraste blush.” Worth noting is that while it appears to be in the same-sized compact as the blushes, it contains less at 0.09 oz. (while the blushes contain 0.21 oz.). The texture of the highlighting powder is incredibly soft, silky, and smooth to the touch and blends effortlessly on the skin. It had semi-sheer to semi-opaque, buildable coverage that gave the skin a soft glow without emphasizing pores. It doesn’t add color on my skin tone, though much fairer complexions may find it adds a little color. The powder lasted for seven and a half hours on me before fading.

I don’t want to want this but as a pale person this could be so versatile. Maybe this will be my one holiday splurge (crossing fingers no other releases tempt me so).
I’ll keep ’em crossed 😉
That seems like a significant drop in size. Over half?
It seems like a baked product, so I’m not sure if that’s why?
Yep. I gotta get this. My first Chanel highlighter! I will say the 7.5 wear time is a bit of a let down. But, I think it’s really pretty. So, I’m willing to go with it. Hopefully primer will help it out.
Enjoy, Nicole!!
The results are so soft and pretty on you. It gives you just a little glow without looking too shiny.
Thank you, Chris!
Looks beautifully subtle.
It is!
I can’t believe it contains so much less product and it’s the same price! It’s a little to warm for me anyway, so I’ll definitely have to pass! Although I will admit it looks gorgeous.
It seems (visually) like the same the size, but the weight is quite different!
Wow, that beautiful, but the size difference is disappointing, especially at the same price. For an item that was a ‘must have’ for me, I think I’ll be passing on it.
Oh, bummer! 🙁
Very luminous!
It gives a nice glow!
Pricey, but pretty! I like how it adds some warmth but not too much. Is it similar to the Hourglass Ambient Lighting powders?
A lot less powdery and quite a bit more shimmery!
Hi Christine – just to clarify – is the Chanel more shimmery or the Hourglass?
I tried the Hourglass and didn’t like them but usually love the Chanel
-Thanks
Chanel is more shimmery 🙂
I was wondering about this product from the holiday collection: Pretty, but not pretty enough for the snack bracket. Easy pass for me.
Glad I could help 🙂
i think i have to get this. it is beautiful!
Enjoy it, Beka!
That’s quite beautiful.
It is!
Thank you so much for mentioning that it barely showed up on you, because then I knew immediately that it would be invisible on me, save for some shimmer, as I’m a bit darker than you. It makes this one super easy pass for me!
No problem, Nancy!
That’s beautiful! I love it. Totally tempting.
Yay! Happy to hear it!
I love Chanel blushes but pink shades are better on me.
Gotcha! 🙂
It is a very subtle colour, which you could wear over a normal blush. By itself I think it is a bit pale and would only suit those of very fair complexion. Also, the fact that it is a smaller pan makes it very expensive.
It would work well layered!
I cannot find this product on any of the websites listed. Is it out yet? The one that seems closest is on the Nordstrom website and it is called 280 Golden Sun.
Not yet 🙂
Christine do you know when this launches?
Chanel listed November.
I love this! I pre-ordered and have had mine for about two weeks now. It is very sheer and looks amazing on my fair-medium rosy cool toned skin. I love the glow it gives that is on the natural side for me. On fairer skin this would put off more color. I would say it is more on the pink side with a slight peach tone. I have many highlighters. None of which compliment as well as this. I need to get another for a stash.
Awesome! Glad you’re enjoying it, Michelle.
how would you compare it with Bobbi Brown 2014 Holiday Highlighting powder in pink glow?? looks pretty similar, but maybe not.
Pink Glow is much warmer and more shimmery.
This kinda looks like MAC porcelain pink…
I can see some resemblance!
