The Spring Season: MAC Honeyflower Lipstick

MAC Honeyflower Lipstick ($14.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a warmed-up, peachy brown with an almost gold sheen to it. Honeyflower has a lustre finish, so it has that slightly frosty, shimmery-sheen look to it. It is surprisingly pigmented–definitely one of the better lustre finishes I’ve tried–and goes on pretty opaque. I think this is a great shade for darker skin tones and warmer skin tones in particular.

Is this the right brown lipstick for you? Would you wear it?

The Spring Season is a series of posts featuring my favorite soft beige, coral, and pink lipsticks and lipglosses — all perfect for the first blossom of spring — that runs through March 2010.

Hey! Quick question: how do you prep your lips for when there is no lip liner being used? I mean, for all my lipsticks (which is like a grand total of five or so) I always have a matching lip liner that makes the lipstick look puuurfect. So what do you do?

Psst… You typed “Honeylove” when I think you meant to type “Honeyflower.” It’s in the second line of the description. Sorry!

That’s a colour I normally wouldn’t go for, but it looks so nice. Ever since I bought MAC’s Ever Hip lipstick, I’m really starting to feel these oranges and corals.

I love the colour, but I don’t like the finish. I find that lip sticks (and glosses) with too much frost makes my lips look horribly unattractive. I tend to look best in shades that have more orange or coral to them, and this looks like it might suit my skin tone nicely.

Would you (or other readers!) have any recommendations for similar shades with more of a cream or subtle shimmer finish? Around the same price range or lower if possible!

Very pretty Christine….I have this one on my list, but somehow it keeps getting moved closer and closer to the bottom. I need to check this one out! 😀

This is pretty!! I think I’m gonna have to get it. I love that you do these reviews on not new products because I see things that I would have probably looked over otherwise.

Do you think that color would work on thats NC42? What blushes and glosses would go with that? I never wear colors like that.Just deep pinks and berries.
