Look: Going Green with Greengrease

Look: Going Green with Greengrease

You know I had to dig into the new MAC products… at least to get going… for a look! Happy Monday!

P.S. — Santal looks a little pinker on me today than it does usually, because I still had a bit of a CoverGirl lip stain lingering when I put it on!

P.P.S. — Can you believe I actually forgot to apply a highlighter? FOR SHAME!

You will need the following…

For eyes, start by applying Soft Ochre paint pot as your eyeshadow base all over the eye area with the 249. Apply Greengrease greasepaint stick on the outer half of the lid, blending out with the 217. Using the 239, apply Bright Sunshine eyeshadow on the inner third of the eyelid. Next, apply Lucky Green eyeshadow on the middle third of the eyelid and lightly blend with the inner corner. Darken the outer third of the lid with Bio Green eyeshadow with the 239, gently brushing it into the lower crease. Lightly blend Atmosphere eyeshadow, with the 239, on the outer corner and lid. Add depth to the crease by applying Bottle Green eyeshadow with the 226 into the outer crease. Lightly tap and brush Bright Sunshine eyeshadow directly above the crease to soften. To finish the eyeshadow look, sweep Femme-fi eyeshadow as a highlighter on the brow bone. Bring everything together by applying Black Line eyeliner on the lower lash line and Lucky Green eyeshadow lightly patted below the lower lash line with the 219 brush. Finish by sweeping lashes with Plushlash mascara.

For cheeks, apply Sugarbomb blush to the apples of the cheeks and sweep upwards towards the temple with the 116.

For lips, apply Santal Rouge Allure Laque for a complementing lip.

You look yummy!! 😀 If you did not mention about the highlighter, I wouldn’t have noticed… but since you mentioned it.. LOL. Are you liking Greasepaint Stick? It looks dark!

Christine Avatar

I had to mention it because it’s such an EPIC blunder, LOL! It’s like, “How can you forget the highlighter?!?!”

I like it, but I just think having 8 Greasepaint Sticks is a little overkill, since they all kind of look the same at the end of the day, lol! You could get a more neutral one like Zinc Zone, which would take on any color you put over it, and be done.

I have Below ground, Zinc Zone, Dirty and Charred Mauve on my list. I need to trim it down a bit, because I have all the paint pots except Stray Grey and they (as well as Shadesticks grr) just sit there. Zinc Zone is way too pretty to pass, I think 😀

Very pretty. But am I thinking correctly that this look could have easily been done without the Greasepaint stick? I’m sure you’ve done something very similar before. (Just trying to work out how essential these sticks are really.)

Anitacska Avatar

That’s what I was thinking. I just don’t see the need for a greasepaint stick. Although that Charred Mauve is still calling my name, but I will see it in person before I decide. Thanks Christine!

Uh oh! Better get Nylon out STAT! 😉 Love this look – you’ve done some variations on it but it never fails. Just got Santal myself…it’s a little nude on me but I love seeing it pinker here. Maybe I will start using it over Posietint or my Stila Pomegranate Crush! I’ve been trying to figure out how to add more color to it without using a gloss over, as all the glosses I have are of a consistency that would overpower Santal.

I love this look and so happy you used Greengrease stick. It’s on my shopping list. Also, I needed more ideas for Bottle Green e/s. I love it but I need to use it more – I guess I’m just afraid of the darkness of it.

Do you prefer the Covergirl stain or the MAC one? It’s hard to get hold of Covergirl in the UK and MAC packaging is prettier but I’m still undecided on whether to get 1 or 4 next week!

Haha I totally noticed the lack of a highlight 😛 It’s okay, I love the look anyway (let’s pretend that doesn’t rhyme).

How come you rarely apply eyeliner on your upper lashline? On me, I feel like a look is incomplete without it… but I tend to forego mascara so I guess it all comes down to personal preference.

Christine Avatar

It causes my eyes to swell up and itch, that’s why 🙂 I’ve gone so long without it, I’m also used to it and like it that way, too, but it’s really because wearing liner on my upper lash line tends to irritate that area that I don’t. If you see me use it in any look, that means I apply it, take photos, and then remove it right after!

Dianna Avatar

That’s no fun 🙁 It doesn’t really matter in most cases cuz your eyeshadow speaks for itself but how do you do pin-up/cat-eye looks?

I LOVE this look!!!! I am actually really excited about the release of these Greasepaint Sticks because I really like them as a base… And the pearlglides too as I am always happy with those. I don’t usually wear greens, but I am def. going to try this one out! So perfect for spring!

Beautiful beautiful, very beautiful. I see some yellow shades in your makeup so I see that is not such a hard color for you to handle. I’m a disaster with blue and green eyeshadows. You always make it look so easy to pull it of. How much time it took you to finish this makeup? 🙂
