The Spring Season: Maybelline Born With It Lipstick

Maybelline Born With It ColorSensational Lipcolor ($7.49) is a softened pink-nude with soft champagne shimmer and a creamy finish. It has a light sheen, more sheen than glossiness, and it has decent color coverage–though not quite opaque (you can still see my little lip freckle/beauty mark!). This is probably one of my favorite shades of Maybelline lipstick I’ve tried so far! What are your favorite Maybelline shades?

More Maybelline Color Sensational Lipsticks to take a look at…

Is this the right pinky-nude lipstick for you? Would you wear it?

The Spring Season is a series of posts featuring my favorite soft beige, coral, and pink lipsticks and lipglosses — all perfect for the first blossom of spring — that runs through March 2010.

I’ve used this color in the “superstay” form. It’s a pretty color, but it’s not quite right for me. I passed it on to my sister and she loves it.

I have this already – picked it up last month and I really like it. Though mine seems a bit deeper and more mauve, not quite so milky pink – do you use a flash when taking these photos? That might be it…
Or there are different colours with the same name between our countries!
Still pretty though!

I like the watermelon-y scent and how smooth they feel on – doesn’t last super long on me but like you say, the pigmentation is not bad and it looks natural on. I have Pinky Beige as well, very sweet!

Eh, I figured it out. I have the Maybelline Moisture Extreme Born With It lipstick, not the Color Sensational one.
Different formula, different colour, same brand, same name.

D’oh!

I have been completely impressed with Maybelline’s Plaza Pink. I picked it up when I ran out of my go-to pink-nude Laura Mercier’s Pink Champagne. I thought it had been discontinued but they just renamed the color for some reason. Anyway, Plaza Pink is a little pinker and I like that a lot better. It is a very versatile color that I can wear with bronze makeup (makes it seem a little nuder) or berry tones (makes it seem a little pinker).

Your pictures remind me a bit of Pure Rose from the Ungaro collection mac did a couple of years ago now. Pure Rose is my absolute favourite lippie of all time and I’m constantly searching for a good dupe of it. Do you know if Born With It and Pure Rose are similar in person? Or do you know of any other Pure Rose dupes out there? Just curious!

Ok, I’ve had this lipstick for a while and I looked at mine versus your picture today and mine seems much more pink? Not as nude.. Very odd! I wonder if they adjusted the colour.. or maybe my eyes are just off! :\

Christine, I have Lancome’s “Pale Lip” (from the Color Design line) which looks very similar to this only by what you’ve provided here in these pics (I don’t own Born With It and have never tried it). Have you tried Pale Lip? What is your opinion? It would be great to see a swatch of Pale Lip too perhaps if you have it. I’m curious to see what it looks like on you since my lip pigmentation differs substantially. If the two differ, I’d like to try this one on.

I like this one!! I love pale lipsticks, pinks are not great on me but this one will probably be just right =)

Ooooh, Nice! 🙂 Will be too light for me, but maybe if I have some colour on me during my sea vaccation, I might pull it off! I think I will get meself one when they are available here in SA.

I love crazy for coffee! I tried it after reading from a blog that it’s a universal brown shade. I agree coz even my husband was amazed that a brown lipstick looked great! Just can’t stand the smell. But they’re cheap so I can’t wait to try the other colours you’ve recommended!!!

i love this color, i keep it in my draw at work, and wear it almost every day. except its a tad bit darker on me compared to you because my lips are more pigmented…….but only by tiny bit…….but yours looks better….lol =)

I have this exact color but I think the American and Canadian formulas or colours are different because mine is like a medium pink and not as pretty as yours 🙁 i have the Maybelline Color Sensational lipstick in Born with it from Canada btw

Hey Christine! I just picked this up today, but I was wondering if you prep/prime your lips with anything prior to applying the lipstick, my lipstick is a little off 🙁
