5 Faves: Autumn-Inspired Eyeshadows (Warm-Toned Edition)

One of my favorite color combinations is a very “fall” eye with coppers and rich browns, and I love to add purple or burgundy to that mix for darkening and keeping the look from looking too warm-toned. Here are my favorites:

  1. ARDENCY INN Rose Gold — a pinky-copper
  2. MAC Amber Lights — copper
  3. Make Up For Ever I824 — a rosy pink
  4. Makeup Geek Cocoa Bear — a warm, medium-dark brown
  5. Make Up For Ever ME828 — deepened burgundy

I’ve been lusting after Rose Gold (1.) for over a year now I think. I think it’s finally time to bite the bullet. MUFE I824 and Amber Lights are both calling to me too, but I have a dupe for Amber Lights (Kathleenlights from ColourPop) and I might get ColourPop Drift instead of the MUFE one. Yay for cheap dupes!

Two of my favourite warmer toned eyeshadows come from the Nars Dual Intensity palette – Ursa Major and Subra. Their finish, with that beautiful glow, seems so right and welcome for the darkening days of autumn. Chanel’s Tisse d’automne #3 is a new eyeshadow “love” and I think it qualifies as “warmer”. And MAC’s Mulch has long been a favourite shadow of mine for fall and winter. All my other faves probably run a bit more in the “cool” grouping, so I’ll wait for that.

Well, you’re always fair and include goodies for those of us with a weakness for cool tones but you also tipped your hand with the words “warm toned edition” at the top of the post! That was a clue that cools or neutrals would be coming ere long (otherwise, you’d simply have called this “5 Faves- Autumn Inspired”).

That’s definitely a favorite eye look for me too. I have hazel eyes too. I often like to add a bit some sort of orange/peach in the summer/sring to change it up. But, it goes year round for me because I get a lot of compliments about my eyes! lol.

Oh my gosh… Please just ignore this comment! I think I was looking at “deepened burgundy” above and thinking that was the name MUFE designated for M828 and so when I clicked the swatch and it didn’t match, I was confused. I was up too early! So Sorry! 😀 Blame it on the kid’s early soccer games! argh!

Oooh! Absolutely my favorite category and time of year. Great choices. Christine, was it you Laura Geller referred to yesterday saying that her gilded honey blew up after a blogger recommendation?

I love reddish browns too. An old favorite is Nars Lola Lola. New favorites are Cocoa Bear, MUFE Pinky Earth (can’t remember the number but I sang the first time I tried it on), MUFE Red Brown, and ColourPop Deluxe. My favorite burgundies are mostly from my Sleek palettes– Vintage Romance and #7 from the Sunset palette.

Gorgeous colour selection, and so very you, Christine! It immediately made me think of one of your highly-praised palettes, Guerlain Turandot… 😉

Lovely autumnal shade picks! I do have Amber Lights, and I’m thinking that maybe Brown Script looks enough like MUG Cocoa Bear? MUFE ME828 has been on my wishlist ever since I first saw it swatched. Time to get it! I also love these types of shades a lot on myself, they go with my coloring and light up the green in my eyes.

Ooh, all these are very pretty. I have Pink Ochre, but not the others. My favorite fall shade is Notoriously Morbid’s Autumn Flower. It’s a brownish-reddish purple with light blue shimmer. It’s like a beautiful bruise, as weird as that sounds. It changes color depending on the light and how sheer or opaque you apply it. I was obsessed with it last fall and winter. I’m wearing it when I go out for my anniverary dinner along with their Sexy Psycho and MAC Vex.

MUG’s Cocoa Bear is everything! It looks deceptively basic-brown in the pan, but it is so rich and luxurious on the lid. I recommend this color to absolutely everyone.
